Odessa (Ukraine) — I like this one. I have Ukrainian-American family so it speaks to those roots for me, but on a less personal note this one really sounds like a name.

Holland ([name_u]Holland[/name_u])— I knew someone by this name long ago, and I’ve always liked it. She went by [name_u]Holland[/name_u], no nickname, though to me it also seems like a fun spin on [name_u]Holly[/name_u].

Seville (Spain)— this one’s not my taste, personally. I don’t think it’s unusable, but I think of the opera immediately so it’s not for me.

Aspen ([name_u]Colorado[/name_u], US)— I absolutely love this name and would use it myself. I think more of nature than of the place, as well.

Devon (UK)— this is more of a name-name than a place name to me. I’ve known a good new [name_u]Devon[/name_u]/Devin’s of different genders. Very usable though nms.

London (UK)— Not a fan of this one personally, but it’s definitely usable.

Aurora (Norway)— I honestly didn’t know this was a place name! [name_u]Love[/name_u] it.

Alexandria ([name_u]Egypt[/name_u])— This may be my deep affection for all things [name_u]Egypt[/name_u] talking, but I love this one! Beautiful, great nn options too.

Alberta ([name_f]Canada[/name_f])— This one feels a little dated for my tastes, personally, but it’s not unusable.

Adelaide (Australia)— I think it’s currently trending for a good reason, as it’s a lovely name. Nms but very wearable and I know someone with that name who I very much like.

Bristol (UK)— I can’t shake the association with the Palins myself but I think I would otherwise like this name a lot.

Brittany ([name_f]France[/name_f])— this name to me feels very rooted in the 90s and early 2000s, unfortunately. Not old enough to have (to me) a vintage appeal yet, but not new enough to be fresh. That said, there’s nothing wrong with the name itself and it’s totally wearable and serviceable.

Brooklyn ([name_u]New[/name_u] [name_m]York[/name_m], US)— I feel the same way I do about [name_f]Brittany[/name_f], but I also have some great memories in [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] so I have some more positive associations with this one. I think it’s a very sweet name, but slightly edgy in a good way.

Odessa - I would definitely consider this as a girl’s name. Rare, but also sounds quite vintage (it reached peak popularity in 1909 at #278). You could pronounce it as oh-dess-ah or odd-ess-ah, I would go for the first, because the beginning would then sound like “odd”, but it is up to you!
Holland - Quite a masculine name, but have heard it being used as a girl’s name (especially if you consider the nickname [name_u]Holly[/name_u]). More modern than [name_f]Odessa[/name_f], but still sounds quite vintage. Used as a boy name in the early 1900’s, but is rising in popularity as a girl’s name.
Seville - More unique than the names previously mentioned, I think it is unisex, but personally, I would use it as a boy’s name (with the nickname Sev). For me, it is quite a hipster name.
Aspen - This one is more popular, but used as a nature name rather than a place name, which makes it quite hipster. Quite popular as a girl’s name, and quickly rising, at #253 according to the SSA.
Devon - I have considering using this name for a boy! I love the nickname [name_m]Dev[/name_m], and it’s similarity to the more common name [name_u]Devin[/name_u] makes the name more grounded. More popular and not as out-there as the previous names.
London - A popular girl’s name, would consider it as a morden, trendy name. It is feminine to me, but it has been used as a boy’s name (just not to the same extent). Currently ranking #165, so quite high.
Aurora - While it is technically a place name, [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] isn’t at first seen as one. It is quite popular, at #40. Definitely a modern, trending name (with some awesome nicknames! [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite would be [name_u]Rory[/name_u] and [name_f]Aurie[/name_f]).
Alexandria - Would be first thought of as [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], until written down. I see it as a trendy twist to a classic name, and actually prefer it to the original. Again, some awesome nicknames.
Alberta - As with [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], wouldn’t be thought of as a place name, but technically is. A classic name, but I wouldn’t say it is vintage, because it hasn’t regained it’s old popularity. I love the nickname [name_u]Bertie[/name_u], but I understand that it isn’t everyone’s style.
Adelaide - Elegant, and definitely a classic. It wasn’t popular in the late 1900’s, but huge in the early 1900’s and huge now as well.
Bristol - [name_u]Unique[/name_u], so I would say it is quite hipster. Not quite my style, but I’m not a huge fan of unique names, so that’s just my opinion.
Brittany - Again, [name_f]Brittany[/name_f] is technically a place name, but isn’t thought of as one. Hugely popular in the late 1900’s, and slowly loosing popularity (currently at #845). In a couple of years, I think it will be seen as a retro name.
Brooklyn - I think this would be one of most popular place name for girls, and one of the most recognisable (as in, it is seen as a place name). It currently sits at #52, which isn’t super popular, but definitely up there. Trendy.

I looove [name_f]Alberta[/name_f]! It’s chic, strong, traditional and slightly clunky-cool. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the thought of [name_m]Alby[/name_m] or [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] for short.

I also really like [name_u]Holland[/name_u] and [name_u]Aspen[/name_u]. Both have a cool, tailored, modern vibe.

Aurora, [name_f]Brittany[/name_f], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f], [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u], [name_u]Chelsea[/name_u] and [name_u]Clare[/name_u] don’t even make me think “place” first, they seem so established as names now.

Seville always makes me think of Cruella DeVille :see_no_evil: Sorry!

I like [name_u]Holland[/name_u], [name_u]Devon[/name_u], [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], [name_f]Alberta[/name_f], [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] and [name_u]Clare[/name_u]. In fact, all of them except [name_u]Holland[/name_u] and [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] don’t remind me to places. [name_u]Devon[/name_u] reminds me of a book’s character I read when I was younger, [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] the Disney princess, [name_f]Alberta[/name_f] the femenine form of [name_m]Alberto[/name_m], [name_u]Clare[/name_u] a different spelling of [name_f]Claire[/name_f].
