Ha, I love topics like these! I have so many names that I don’t even necessarily like, but just curious how other people perceive them.
[name_f]Paulina[/name_f]: It’s really pretty. I associate it with the supermodel. I have considered it for my own list, but I don’t think it fits me.
[name_u]Rae[/name_u]: Fun, simple, and spunky. I like it (for others) as a standalone first name. As a middle name it’s a little too simple/common, but I have it on my list anyway since it’s an honor name for me.
[name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]: Much prefer to [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f]. It has a sleek confidence. I like that it doesn’t sound too dated and is an unexpectedly refreshing choice nowadays.
[name_u]Lexi[/name_u]: This is my sister’s name (not short for anything), so I’m a little biased. I think it works fine as a standalone name, although it’s a bit mid-2000s. Being completely objective, I aesthetically like the [name_u]Lexie[/name_u] spelling a bit more, but I’m definitely biased by my sister haha.
[name_f]Carissa[/name_f]: Very underrated! I like it better than [name_f]Marissa[/name_f] (although not as much as Carina). I’m a bit sad that you don’t hear it much nowadays. It feels like a pretty, artistic name.
[name_f]Brittany[/name_f]: I don’t mind it, but I also tend to dig 80s/90s names a lot. [name_f]Brittany[/name_f] is just fine to me.
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]: It’s just kind of there. A little simple for me. It’s grown on me, though. I like it the most out of the top 10 girl names.
[name_u]Micah[/name_u]: I think the name is objectively kinda cool and I like that it has a gender neutral vibe to it, but for some reason there’s something off about it. I feel like it’s missing something to my ears.
[name_m]Norman[/name_m]: [name_f]My[/name_f] grandfather’s name. I kinda like it! I definitely like it better than [name_u]Nelson[/name_u]. I hope it has a revival someday.
[name_u]Stanley[/name_u]: Clunky but not cool. [name_f]Kinda[/name_f] nerdy, kinda cowboy.
[name_m]Dewey[/name_m]: Decimal system. And just not a particularly flattering sound.
[name_m]Marcus[/name_m]: I do prefer Marc/k and Marc/ko, but [name_m]Marcus[/name_m] is good too. It’s simple, recognizable, and handsome. [name_m]Marcus[/name_m] works in all walks of life.
[name_u]Brett[/name_u]: I like it but it definitely fits in with other 80s/90s names. I like it more than [name_m]Brent[/name_m]. The one-syllable ending in an abrupt consonant is kinda cool… like the name is said in one quick breath. It’s kinda snappy and I dig it.
[name_m]Chester[/name_m]: Clunky but not cool. “Chest hair”.
[name_m]Kirk[/name_m]: I was thinking about this one the other day! It definitely sounds “dated” to my ears but when you think about it, it’s kind of a cool name. There really aren’t any other names out there that sound like it, it’s pretty distinctive.
