I opened this thread due to this forums becoming rather dull, so I picked few unusual names to discuss them. I like some of them.

Ooh, I like [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f]. What an interesting list of names! They all sound very powerful. They seem old, yet modern at the same time!

[name_f]Arabesque[/name_f] - Not a fan, it sounds like a word. Maybe a word to describe something looking Arabic or of Arabic design if that’s a thing?
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] - Really cute name and I love the sound, but how popular [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] used to be puts me off
[name_f]Twyla[/name_f] - I really like this name! I prefer the [name_f]Twila[/name_f] spelling but both are lovely. Very distinctive sound
[name_f]Selina[/name_f] - I feel like it’d get misspelled a lot, plus selino means celery in my native language so
[name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f]! I used to have it in my signature as a first name. It’s pretty, elegant and different but not too complicated
[name_f]Alcina[/name_f] - Would this be al-see-nah or al-chee-nah? Nothing wrong with it, it just doesn’t sound attractive to my ears
[name_f]Sheena[/name_f] - Bit of a dated-sounding name but kinda pretty!
[name_f]Cytherea[/name_f] - Would have no idea how to pronounce this in English, though I believe it’s Kithirea in Greek. An adult film actress comes up when you look it up which could embarrass the person wearing the name, so I’m not too crazy about it
[name_f]Vespera[/name_f] - I prefer [name_u]Vesper[/name_u], but this interesting. Feels a bit Eastern European to me
[name_f]Celestina[/name_f] - Cute! I might like it more than [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]
[name_f]Aliena[/name_f] - The “alien” part isn’t exactly subtle, but could be a cool character name if anyone’s into that
[name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] - I actually know a woman with this name. Like it, especially with the nicknames

[name_f]Selina[/name_f] and [name_f]Alcina[/name_f] are so similar in sound, but I like [name_f]Selina[/name_f] better.

[name_f]Arabesque[/name_f] - it has an appealing sound and cool nickname options ([name_f]Essie[/name_f], [name_u]Ara[/name_u], [name_f]Ebba[/name_f], [name_u]Abby[/name_u], [name_f]Bess[/name_f], [name_m]Reb[/name_m], Bex) but it’s a bit over the top for me as a first
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] - sweet and melodic
[name_f]Twyla[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Twyla[/name_f]! The strong Y sound and the unique Tw beginning is brilliant. It sounds a little mysterious but also kind of quaint
[name_f]Selina[/name_f] - [name_f]Selina[/name_f] is okay. I prefer [name_f]Celine[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] - like [name_f]Selina[/name_f], it’s okay and I could see it making a versatile and interesting middle name choice but there are other lu- names I prefer
[name_f]Alcina[/name_f] - a nice sound but looks clunky
[name_f]Sheena[/name_f] - it feels a bit dated but also intriguing - like one I’ve heard but I don’t think I actually have
[name_f]Cytherea[/name_f] - not sure about this
[name_f]Vespera[/name_f]- I kind of like it, kind of don’t - one I think I’ll have to come back to
[name_f]Celestina[/name_f]- love it!! It’s so starry! It feels a over the top but not in any unusable way
[name_f]Aliena[/name_f] - best left in As You Like It
[name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] - I’ve been liking [name_f]Sibyl[/name_f] lately but [name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] is really interesting and fresh sounding! [name_u]Love[/name_u] The possibilities of [name_f]Sibby[/name_f] and [name_u]Billie[/name_u] as nn

[name_f]Arabesque[/name_f]: As a dance lover, I absolutely understand the appeal of this elegant name: [name_f]Mystique[/name_f], precision, and beauty all pop to mind. However, I think it is a little much to be wearable as a first, and best in the middle.
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]: I have always loved this classic, particularly the [name_m]French[/name_m] spelling. Chic and sweet.
[name_f]Twyla[/name_f]: Conjures images of blue-green skies and a quiet landscape. I think the middle sound is the slightest bit clunky, but overall I like it for its imagery and boldness.
[name_f]Selina[/name_f]: Gorgeous, ethereal name, although there’s something about this spelling that I don’t like as much. I prefer [name_f]Selena[/name_f].
[name_f]Lucienne[/name_f]: A melodic, quaint, striking alternative to [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. I love it!
[name_f]Alcina[/name_f]: I have never been a huge fan, but the more I read about it, the more it grows on me. My biggest complaint is that the “[name_m]Al[/name_m]-” syllable disrupts the melodic nature of the name, but I love the meaning.
[name_f]Sheena[/name_f]: Always makes me smile due to the Ramones song, but feels a bit dated and I’m not sure I like it as a formal name. Maybe as a nickname for Shireen, [name_f]Selena[/name_f], or [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f]?
[name_f]Cytherea[/name_f]: As a huge mythology nerd, I love this for the place connection, but I love its sound too. Strong, unexpected, and melodic.
[name_f]Vespera[/name_f]: A gorgeous, shining meaning, but I just can’t get behind the sound. The transition from the first syllable to the second syllable is a bit clunky. I like this more feminine version better than [name_u]Vesper[/name_u], but it’s still nota personal favorite.
[name_f]Celestina[/name_f]: So many space and mythology names on this list. I love it! This in particular is gorgeous both in sound and meaning.
[name_f]Aliena[/name_f]: I’m not a huge fan of this name. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the literature connection, but the “Alien-” part is a dealbreaker for me. I love [name_f]Alina[/name_f], though!
[name_f]Sibylla[/name_f]: Bold and vivd, but I’m just not a fan of the sound. I’ve never like [name_f]Sybil[/name_f], and although I like this better, its flow is still a bit off-putting and it still sounds a bit dated.
