We really like short, simple names with nature or animal meanings. We’ve been considering the name [name]Zev[/name] (from Hebrew meaning wolf), but aren’t sure if it will sound strange or made-up to most people. Also, we aren’t a Jewish family and I’m not sure whether this name will be perceived as exclusively Jewish. Opinions or other suggestions?
I do like [name]Zev[/name], but it most certainly is an exclusively Jewish name, I’m afraid.
What’s wrong with [name]Wolf[/name]? I really like it. I actually know 2 [name]Wolf[/name]'s. [name]One[/name] is in his 30’s, and it’s short for [name]Wolfgang[/name], but no matter. The other [name]Wolf[/name] is 4 years old. I think it works. [name]Just[/name] my opinion. Or [name]Fox[/name] is another short, sweet, animal name.
Good luck!!
My son’s middle name is [name]Wolf[/name].
Not sure if [name]Zev[/name] works or not, but I do like the sound of it.
[name]Zev[/name] sounds trendy since it starts with a Z. It’s zippy.
I love [name]Lev[/name] too. I think it is fine to use a Hebrew name even you’re not Jewish. People use Irish names and they are not Irish.
I like the sound of [name]Zev[/name]. I think most people would think of it as a cool name. So many different cultures are used now. I wouldn’t perceived as exclusively Jewish.
I would vote not to use it. I’m not sure why, it just doesn’t sound like a name to me.
What about something like [name]Stone[/name] (I went to school with a guy named [name]Stone[/name] and he was HOT, but anyways) There are plenty of “nature-y” name lists here on Nameberry (:
