I’m considering naming the full name of my child “[name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f]”. I love the name [name_f]Giselle[/name_f], and I thought ‘[name_f]May[/name_f]’ would be a good last name since she was born in [name_f]May[/name_f]. I chose her middle name to be ‘[name_f]Eva[/name_f]’, because that would make her initials [name_f]GEM[/name_f]. I’m happy with the way the name sounds, but I’m curious as to what you think, and whether there should be any adjustments made.
I agree with PP! [name_f]GEM[/name_f] is so cute!
I’ve always been neutral on the name [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] but I still think it’s a beautiful name! I think it’s very underused for how familiar it is. [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] is gorgeous!
Thanks for your input! I was considering using [name_f]Mae[/name_f], but I wasn’t sure if it would look as nice since [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] also ends with an e (which I was told should generally be avoided). Although, now that I think about it, [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] does look pretty good! Ahhh, so many decisions!
Great question, I can’t believe I forgot to mention this! She’s an adopted baby that wasn’t able to be named at birth, and instead was given a basic name by the orphanage so I am legally allowed to change the name within a certain period.
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] is lovely! It has a delicate, vintage, classy vibe to me, without being too dated or clunky. It feels both old-fashioned and modern, a name that works just as well today as it would have a hundred years ago. I think both the [name_f]May[/name_f] and [name_f]Mae[/name_f] spellings would look nice in this combo; with [name_f]Eva[/name_f] in between to break it up the two e endings aren’t a problem. The initials [name_f]GEM[/name_f] are really cute, you could call her that as a pet name if you liked.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] wanted to add, it’s great that you’re adopting! I don’t know anyone adopted/who has adopted, but some of the stories I’ve read about it are so sad. Her life will be forever changed by it
Oh wow, I love that description! And I actually discussed the [name_f]May[/name_f]/[name_f]Mae[/name_f] situation with both my husband and best friend, and we’re now all settled on using ‘[name_f]Mae[/name_f]’.
Yeah some of the stories really are heartbreaking, but it means a lot that you think she’ll have a better life now. I do genuinely think we made the right decision to adopt her too.
