I am having my first baby girl in less than 2 months and I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the nn [name_f]Eve[/name_f]/[name_f]Evie[/name_f]… I would maybe use it as a fn but the middle has to be [name_f]Anne[/name_f], a family name. Here are my top three choices and my thoughts on them. Please let me know yours!
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] - currently my number 1 choice. It is a gorgeous name but a little long and formal for our taste. It will she well and has plenty of nn options to help shorten it.
[name_u]Everly[/name_u] - I really love this name. My hesitation is how it will age. I know it’s trendy now but don’t want it to be to cutesy or dated in 25 years. My nn work with it well.
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] - this is a new option for me. It’s pretty but I can’t help feeling it’s just not for a baby but more an old lady! I know old is new again but am having trouble with this one. It flows well with [name_f]Anne[/name_f] though
We’ve considered [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] but is just to long and fussy.
I love [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. It is harder to picture on a baby but since you want to use the nn [name_f]Eve[/name_f]/[name_f]Evie[/name_f] I don’t think that will be an issue.
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is gorgeous. And it goes really well with [name_f]Ann[/name_f].
[name_u]Everly[/name_u] I do think might seem dated one day. But it is cute.
My vote would be for [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f] is gorgeous and you could use [name_f]Eve[/name_f]/[name_f]Evie[/name_f] as her nn.
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is beautiful. I’m a fan of longer/multi-syllable names beacsue they give more options later on. I went through so many nn as a child, I think it’s more important for the name to age. That’s why I’m not the biggest fan of [name_u]Everly[/name_u].
I dislike [name_u]Everly[/name_u] and [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is a nice name, very suitable for the lady your daughter will become.
[name_f]Evelina[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f]? It is an actual name and though older than [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] a fresher sounding option. Of the three you list, I prefer [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f].
1 [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] - gorgeous [name_m]French[/name_m] chic
2 [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] - I prefer [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] but this is a fine name that ages well.
3 [name_u]Everly[/name_u] - a trendy name of the moment
If [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is too long, you might like [name_f]Geneva[/name_f] instead? Still, I think [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is pretty and I know a girl by that name who gets called [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Evie[/name_f].
[name_u]Everly[/name_u] isn’t my style, I actually remember back when it was a super rare invented name, about 5 years ago and now it’s just shot up, so I don’t think it’ll age well.
I like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u].
I also like just [name_f]Eve[/name_f] itself, and [name_f]Eva[/name_f]. In the UK, we just use [name_f]Evie[/name_f].
Have you considered [name_f]Eva[/name_f] or [name_f]Evelia[/name_f]? [name_f]Evelia[/name_f] is the Spanish variation of [name_f]Eva[/name_f]. It’s on my long list!
I think [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] will likely be shortened to [name_f]Evie[/name_f] (rhymes with heavy) not E-V. I’m not sure which pronunciation you prefer.
I love [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], but I am a bit biased- my grandmother and daughter both are [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. I actually like [name_u]Everly[/name_u] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] the best! I think it helps that there’s not an “n” in [name_u]Everly[/name_u] to clash with [name_f]Ann[/name_f]/[name_f]Anne[/name_f]. I also feel like [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is a completely different feeling name than the other two [name_f]Eve[/name_f] names you picked out. Good luck to you!
I have a very close friend named [name_f]Eva[/name_f] who is sweet and energetic. She wears her name so well. I also think [name_f]Evie[/name_f] would be good on its own.
If you really want a formal name, I like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] or even better, if you’re into unisex names I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_u]Evan[/name_u] for a girl.
I love [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] of the three you mentioned. Have you considered [name_f]Yvette[/name_f]? I think it is very pretty and also gets you to the nn you want.
What do you think of [name_f]Evia[/name_f]? I have a little cousin with that name and I think it is lovely!
I also adore [name_f]Evelina[/name_f]!
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_u]Everly[/name_u] are both great names! I find [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] to be elegant & beautiful. [name_u]Everly[/name_u] is super sweet and fun!
I love [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], but I think [name_u]Everly[/name_u] would go best with [name_f]Anne[/name_f] and it’s pretty too. Have you considered maybe spelling it [name_f]Everleigh[/name_f]? That way it looks more fitting for a grown-up too, I think.
