[name]Hi[/name], I’ve recently come across the name Verily. I think it’s a great alternative to [name]Verity[/name], which I hate. What so you think?

Sorry, but I’m not too fond of it, really. In fact, I am verily (pun intended) unfond of it, just because it’s a word to me (which I actually use quite a lot), not really a name!
Its okay, not something I would go for. Like ciottolo it feels more like a word (adjective) than a name.

I’m afraid I also thought of “Verily, verily, I say unto thee…” It’s too much word, not enough name for my tastes, and I agree it does look like a typo of [name]Verity[/name].
If you like the sound of verily but dislike [name]Verity[/name], perhaps you’d like [name]Valerie[/name], [name]Verona[/name], or [name]Vera[/name].

“Verily, verily” is terrible because…? If we avoided every name that could be teased we’d be left with nothing because every single name on [name]Earth[/name] is tease-worthy
A word or a virtue name is one thing, but an adverb? No thank you. Stick to adjectives and nouns.
As far as word names go, I think it’s quite nice. After all, there are plenty of girls named [name]Truly[/name] and [name]Everly[/name].
I like Veritas as an alternative.
I actually like the name because I think it has a nice sound and meaning! I do see the excessive teasing potential though, so I think it works best as a middle name.
It’s not a name though, it’s just a word.
