My husband and I are still tossing around different name ideas, though we have found a few that we really love at the moment, a lot of which came from your guyses suggestions so thank you!
On our list right now is:
[name]Eliora[/name]
[name]Natalia[/name] / [name]Nathalie[/name]
[name]Eliana[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Noelle[/name]
[name]Lucia[/name]
[name]Evaline[/name]
[name]Aurelia[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name]
But my husband recently suggested ‘[name]Waverly[/name]’ to me, and I’ve seen it on nameberry too, and its beginning to grow on me. I don’t know if its THE name, but I would love to hear your opinions! Does it clash with our sibset? Is there any cute nicknames for [name]Waverly[/name]? IF we did choose, [name]Waverly[/name], I would probably choose the nickname ‘[name]Cate[/name]’ to go with it, to keep with the theme of ‘C’ middle names. Any suggestions and comments are appreciated!
I think it goes well with your mostly contemporary name set.
[name]Waverly[/name] is sweet. I’m somewhat stumped on nicknames though. There is a [name]Waverly[/name] on Friday [name]Night[/name] Lights (the TV version) and they called her Wavy sometimes, but I don’t care for that.
I think [name]Evangeline[/name] and [name]Evaline[/name] are very pretty names, and prefer both to [name]Waverly[/name].
I love [name]Waverly[/name]! I think it’s a bit unisex next to [name]Annalise[/name] and Lilevi (which both feel very feminine to me–I’ve never come across Lilevi before, so I have no idea its history, but it feels very feminine to me, despite the “[name]Levi[/name]” ending), but in all, I think it fits in really well. I know a little girl named [name]Waverly[/name], her mom calls her Wave/Waves, sometimes Wavy. I think Wavy is adorable! If I used [name]Waverly[/name], I would so use Wavy.
[name]Waverly[/name] [name]Cate[/name] is adorable. I also really love [name]Eliora[/name], [name]Aurelia[/name], and [name]Evangeline[/name] from your list, although I like [name]Waverly[/name] and [name]Eliora[/name] for you the best.
Reminds me of the Wizards of [name]Waverly[/name] Place (I think it’s a television show on the Disney [name]Channel[/name] or [name]Nick[/name]? For some reason, it’s in my head.) It sounds all right to me, though it’s a bit more newfangled than the rest of the sibset? Maybe Averly or [name]Avery[/name], too are other options you could consider? IDK, sounds good, and if you’ve latched on to it, it could be a real possibility!
[name]Waverly[/name] is all [name]Joy[/name] [name]Luck[/name] Club to me, but I’m sure to the younger set it’s Wizards of [name]Waverly[/name] Place. I had a college friend name her daughter this. She calls her “Wavy-[name]Baby[/name]” when she’s being silly, but I don’t know if she has a nickname that she uses on a daily basis.
I’ve liked it ever since “The [name]Joy[/name] [name]Luck[/name] Club.” I’m actually shocked it’s not higher on the charts. It has a lot of the qualities that are so popular in girl’s names right now. I also think it would grow well (like many kind of unisex names). I can see it on a little girl and an adult.
That was my one problem with the name too! I’m on the fence whether or not it’s ‘feminine’ enough to fit in with my girls… I do love the name though more and more, and I think that ‘Waves’ is an adorable nickname too!
Ha! My 7 year old loves Wizards of [name]Waverly[/name] Place, definitely one of her favorites. I actually think Averly would be a nice compromise… It’s a bit more girly, and still has the same feel… will definitely bring it up to my husband! Or even going with the more popular [name]Everly[/name]? There are so many great options!
I think [name]Joy[/name] [name]Luck[/name] Club too. [name]Amy[/name] [name]Tan[/name] picked the name for a first-generation Chinese-American girl to demonstrate how off parents’ naming tastes would be when they were plopped in an alien culture. [name]Waverly[/name] at the time was most famous as a line of household goods, and the R and L are difficult for Chinese people to say.
However, she inadvertently invented a name that people thought sounded good, and off it took.
Personally I like every single one of your other choices. They strike me as timeless and meaningful, whereas [name]Waverly[/name] has a pleasant sound, but nothing more.
I love [name]Waverly[/name]! She’s [name]Westley[/name] & [name]Buttercup[/name]'s baby (the [name]Princess[/name] [name]Bride[/name]). It’s very high on my list for [name]Baby[/name]. I also like [name]Eliora[/name] (prefer Lior or [name]Liora[/name] though) and [name]Nathalie[/name].
I can’t shake the association with the name brand [name]Waverly[/name] to see it as a viable option for a baby, no matter how melodic or modern it sounds. It would be like naming a boy [name]Remington[/name] or a girl [name]Gillette[/name].
With that being said, you mentioned ‘[name]Everly[/name]’ and I think that captures the same lovely, flowing tone of ‘[name]Waverly[/name]’, but with much nicer associations. Plus, you can call her ‘[name]Ever[/name]’, which is a stunner of a name.
I think it’s an adorable name! I could see us naming our daughter [name]Waverly[/name], although the other names on our list hold a bit more meaning to us!
I’m going to be the naysayer here and say that I find [name]Waverly[/name] too be way too trendy with your other childrens names. [name]Waverly[/name] feels masculine and surname-ish, which is a HUGE trend right now, it would stick out like a sore thumb.
