What do we think of [name_f]Olena[/name_f] / Olenna? One n or two?
[name_m]How[/name_m] would you pronounce it if you saw it?
What type of woman do you see her being?

What would you pair for a middle?

Interested to see your thoughts!

I like the spelling [name_f]Olena[/name_f] better than Olenna. I see her being the high-achiever type, blond hair and green eyes, and loves spending time with her friends and family.

As for middles, I’d go with something longer and a bit [name_m]French[/name_m]-sounding, such as [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]. Maybe [name_f]Juliette[/name_f], [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], or [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f].

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] I helped!

I can’t tell you a description, but I prefer [name_f]Olena[/name_f].

I really like [name_f]Olena[/name_f]. I would pronounce it oh-LEH-na. I do prefer the traditional spelling but Olenna is nice too.

[name_f]Olena[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Olena[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Olena[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Olena[/name_f] [name_f]Solange[/name_f]
[name_f]Olena[/name_f] [name_f]Mireille[/name_f]
[name_f]Olena[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Olena[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Olena[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]

@livelaughlove - I also picture an intelligent blonde when I think of [name_f]Olena[/name_f]!

I love the suggestions of [name_f]Olena[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], [name_f]Olena[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] and [name_f]Olena[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]. For [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] the flow is lovely but I can’t get behind [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] as a name!

[name_m]Ah[/name_m] Olenna, [name_f]Queen[/name_f] of Thorns, she is really cunning that has light freckles with a smirk on her face. She is petitr but has a tongue you should be aware of. [name_f]Olena[/name_f] is a better name to use in real life though.

She is the reason I included the Olenna spelling! But I do agree, I think the single n is more intuitive.

[name_f]Olena[/name_f] for me too. I think she would pause before saying her name because it is different. It makes her sound confident and cosiderate no matter what her hair colour. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] that makes sense?

I think of Olenna from Game of Thrones ([name_f]Margery[/name_f]'s grandma), who is a total bad@$$. I’d pronounce [name_f]Olena[/name_f] (oh-[name_m]LAY[/name_m]-na) and Olenna (oh-len-na); I prefer Olenna because I think [name_f]Olena[/name_f] would constantly get mispronounced as [name_f]Elena[/name_f].

Not my cup of tea I’ll admit. I see a lady in a fifties with a woolen shawl on.

I would pronounce it o-len-ah

Um, I associate it with Olenna [name_m]Tyrell[/name_m] from GoT. For the spelling itself I prefer [name_f]Olena[/name_f].

[name_f]Olena[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]
[name_f]Olena[/name_f] [name_f]Camille[/name_f]
[name_f]Olena[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Olena[/name_f] [name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_f]Olena[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Olena[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Olena[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Olena[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]

I know a woman named [name_f]Olena[/name_f] who grew up outside the US, I think in the Ukraine. She pronounces it [name_u]Lee[/name_u]-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-na, but that could be a nickname maybe, because it doesn’t seem to be the popular pronunciation.

Single n is indeed better, as for Olenna herself I ak waiting for her to support Aegon soon. She must be the friend from the Reach, her and her Greenhand coins.

I like it!
Would you like nn [name_f]Oly[/name_f]?
I would pronounce it O-len-ah

I liked luneths middle name suggestions, particularly [name_u]June[/name_u] and [name_u]Harper[/name_u]

[name_f]Olena[/name_f]…[name_u]Love[/name_u] it. Oh [name_u]Lee[/name_u] nah. I would pronounce Olenna as Oh len ah

I am not sure what nn we would go with if any. It occurs to me in my fiancé’s large Ukrainian family, there are several [name_u]Ollie[/name_u]’s and [name_f]Lena[/name_f]’s that are female, now I am wondering what their full names are because it’s very possible they have traditional longer Eastern European names!
