[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
You have great lists!
Here are my thoughts-
Boys:
Monty-I can totally see the appeal of this. It’s kind of spunky & fun & interesting but not complicated. I think something about it sounds a bit fussy to me, but not sure why.
Barnaby-Super cute. It’s quirky & posh. I like the sleek nn of [name_m]Barnes[/name_m] or the fun loving nn of [name_m]Barney[/name_m].
Darcy-This is kind of one of those names that reminds me of a cheerleader in the 90s. I can’t get on board. It feels too masculine for a girl but too feminine for a boy.
Wilbur-I don’t know. I like it in theory, but just not the sound.
Paul-That’s my husband’s name! I like it. It’s simple & warm & known but not popular.
Evander-People on these boards love this name, but I can’t get into it. Feels kind of heavy to me.
Laurence-I like it. It’s handsome & classic & I think that this spelling feels so much sleeker than [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]. I like the nn [name_m]Lad[/name_m] for [name_u]Laurence[/name_u] too if you’re into that.
Eden-This is one of those names that’s just pretty enough that I’m good w/it on a boy or a girl. It’s so peaceful.
Ambrose-Kind of nice. Sometimes I feel like the ‘rose’ part looks off, even though this name is totally masculine…I don’t know. I do like this w/the nn [name_m]Abe[/name_m].
Casper-This is fun. [name_m]Classic[/name_m] & smart & a teeny bit quirky. I like [name_m]Cas[/name_m] & Caspi as well.
Rupert-A little stuffy for my tastes, but I can see the appeal.
Frank-Not stuffy enough! This is just too much of a dad name to me. Like, dads of my friends. Dad’s in their 60s.
[name_u]August[/name_u] ‘Gus’-Ooh, I love it. [name_u]August[/name_u] is such a great balance of classic, warm, smart, outdoorsy & artsy. And [name_u]Gus[/name_u] is just lovable.
Otis-This is adorable. Like [name_u]August[/name_u], but slightly goofier. And I mean that in a good way somehow!
Hugh-I like it in theory. I think it feels smart & kind. I just don’t like saying it out loud as much.
Soren-Pretty neat. Reminds me of ‘soaring’, which is cool imagery.
Bram-I feel like it’s a bit bland, but nice as a nn for [name_m]Abram[/name_m] or [name_m]Abraham[/name_m].
Girls:
Lucy-Nothing not to love about [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. It’s hard to say w/out a smile. It’s classic & simple & just charming. I like [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] too, but it works on its own.
Elsie-This one I feel is better as a nn, but it’s just adorable anyway.
Connie-Not a fan of this one. Feels a bit dated, I think.
Sadie-Super sweet & playful but works well as a grown up too. I like [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] nn [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] or just [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] on its own.
Florrie-I love [name_f]Flora[/name_f], but am not big into [name_u]Florence[/name_u] of [name_f]Florrie[/name_f]. Either way, this feels too nick-name-y on its own.
Maisie-Hm. I feel like this is better as a nn too, but it’s so fun & darling I love it anyway.
Beth-I love [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] & [name_f]Bette[/name_f], but [name_f]Beth[/name_f] feels drab to me. Go figure.
Willa-That’s nice. Kind of quiet & smart & artsy & vintage.
Cecily-Aw, I like it. It’s playful & classy.
Maeve-Gorgeous. It’s so soft & airy yet very sleek. [name_u]Love[/name_u] that it’s a family name as well.
Annie-Adorable & lovable. Much better as a nn though in my opinion.
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.
