Opinions please! My husband keeps vetoing :(

[name]India[/name]
[name]Eden[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name]
[name]Skye[/name]
[name]Azalea[/name]
[name]Mette[/name]
[name]Juniper[/name]

[name]Just[/name] wondering what you all think of these, since my husband pretty much hates every name besides [name]Roxana[/name].

[name]Cecily[/name], definitely. [name]Juniper[/name] is cute, but NMS and I can’t see an adult bearing that name well. [name]India[/name] is nice- I’ve heard that name several times for girls recently. Pretty, and it will age well.

[name]Roxana[/name] - oy! That’s a rough one! Good luck!

[name]India[/name] - [name]Lovely[/name] and melodic
[name]Eden[/name] - I like it but better as an mn
[name]Cecily[/name] - I prefer [name]Cicely[/name] but both are gorgeous
[name]Skye[/name] - I don’t know that this is substantial enough for a full fn
[name]Azalea[/name] - Personally I find this very visually unappealing
[name]Mette[/name] - NMS!!!
[name]Juniper[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name], definitely my favorite of the list

[name]India[/name]-- I have always crushed on this name. I think it is pretty and exotic (maybe too exotic for me, though)…and I adore the nickname [name]Indi[/name]/[name]Indie[/name]
[name]Eden[/name]-- I love this name. Short and sweet.
[name]Cecily[/name] – see [name]India[/name], I feel the same way. Very pretty name with cute nickname potenital. Might be my favorite with the sibset.
[name]Skye[/name] – not my style, and it is lacking something for me.
[name]Azalea[/name] – I love the name and know an [name]Azalea[/name]…she gets compliments on her name wherever we go!
[name]Mette[/name] – I am not even sure how to pronounce it; not my favorite on your list.
[name]Juniper[/name] – love love love! Pretty name, very feminine but with an edge, uncommon/unique without being weird, recognizable and easy to pronounce/spell, spunky and full of character.

[name]India[/name]- a very beautiful name, with cute nickname potential
[name]Eden[/name]- love this one. Always have.
[name]Cecily[/name]- not my style, but very cute
[name]Skye[/name]- pretty
[name]Azalea[/name]- my favourite from your list! I love the way it sounds.
[name]Mette[/name]- hmm…not sure how to pronounce this one.
[name]Juniper[/name]- with [name]June[/name] as a potential nickname, this could age really well. And, it seems to fit with your other kids’ names.

Good luck!

I think [name]India[/name] or [name]Juniper[/name] would go well with your other childrens’ names

I feel like most of the names you said were a little bit too out there for my personal taste. that might be why he doest love them. Maybe a compromise? Names that sound common but are a little out there? like [name]Tuesday[/name], [name]Coraline[/name]… something like that?
[name]Juniper[/name] is cute though… Makes me think of the movie benny and june.

I’m crazy about [name]India[/name] but not overly fond of your other choices. Have to say I also like [name]Roxana[/name] quite a bit.

[name]India[/name] - Pretty sounding, but I don’t prefer the referance. Not in a ‘I hate [name]India[/name]’ type way, I’m just not a political geography name type girl.
[name]Eden[/name] - I think this is too clunky for my taste, but to each her own.
[name]Cecily[/name] - Meh.
[name]Skye[/name] - I love this! I think it’s really pretty, and nature names are some of my favourites. I have an OC named [name]Skye[/name], actually.
[name]Azalea[/name] - Mhmmm, I like this. It’s a nature name and a colour name rolled in to one uniquely spelled name. I think it’s beautiful!
[name]Mette[/name] - This will always make me think of the sports team
[name]Juniper[/name] - I think this is pretty, but I would only use it as a mn. Too preppy or hipster-y maybe… idk
[name]Roxana[/name] - I used to have a total obsession with any name with rock in it. I have a million stuffed animals named [name]Rocco[/name] & [name]Rocky[/name] and a guitar and an ipod named [name]Roxy[/name]. [name]Roxana[/name] was never my favourite, though, and now I feel like the names are a little dated. Still nice though.

Thanks so much for the opinions so far! [name]Mette[/name] is a Danish form of [name]Margaret[/name] and is pronounced like may-duh (sometimes you’ll see it spelled [name]Meta[/name] in other countries)

I really like your naming style. But if your husband isn’t feeling it, maybe you should look deeper. Personally, I am not a fan of [name]Roxana[/name], but I like [name]Roxy[/name] by itself. As for your list, if you want feedback:

[name]India[/name] - exotic and pretty
[name]Eden[/name] - worried about trendy potential, but has a nice sound
[name]Cecily[/name] - I like the vintage feel
[name]Skye[/name] - I have a friend with this name and she gets lots of compliments
[name]Azalea[/name] - a unique choice with a lot of upside
[name]Mette[/name] - not a fan, but love the name [name]Mattea[/name] which is close
[name]Juniper[/name] - one of my favorites, love the nn potential too

I’m from Denmark and my name is [name]Mette[/name]. It’s pronounced MEH-deh.

I think [name]India[/name] is the most lovely of your list. I love it!

I adore [name]India[/name], [name]Eden[/name] and [name]Juniper[/name], all gorgeous!

[name]India[/name]- [name]Lovely[/name] name, but just a teensy bit common
[name]Eden[/name]- [name]Just[/name] seems unnatractive
[name]Cecily[/name]- It’s lovely, and I knew a little girl named [name]Cecily[/name], and she was the sweetest thing~
[name]Skye[/name]- Eh, it’s nice, just not my favorite
[name]Azalea[/name]- I love this name, it’s my favorite along with [name]Juniper[/name]. nns for [name]Azalea[/name] could be [name]Lea[/name], or [name]Zaley[/name]. I would try and beg your husband for the name. Or just stamp your foot down and say, “I’m carrying this baby, and I want to decide the name!”
[name]Mette[/name]- [name]Say[/name] what?
[name]Juniper[/name]- I love this one, I’ve never met a single person in New [name]York[/name] or New [name]Jersey[/name] (where I live) that has this name! [name]Love[/name] this and [name]Azalea[/name].
Good luck and congrats!

[name]India[/name] - This name bothers me… Like [name]Asia[/name], it has the residue of colonialism about it. If you’ve spent a lot of time in [name]India[/name] and feel a special connection to the country, ok. Maybe that’s just me?
[name]Eden[/name]- Quite religious without being a saint name, which is interesting. It does sound a lot like the very popular [name]Aiden[/name].
[name]Cecily[/name]- Very pretty. I prefer [name]Cecelia[/name], but [name]Cecily[/name] might be more down to earth.
[name]Skye[/name]- I like it as a nick for [name]Skylar[/name]. I think [name]Skylar[/name] is gorgeous for a girl. And [name]Sky[/name]/[name]Skye[/name] - having a name that’s associated with something beautiful you see every day - might make a child feel particularly good.
[name]Azalea[/name] - I like the sound, but not the shrub. [name]Woody[/name], suburban, often hot pink flowers… eh. Prefer [name]Zinnia[/name] for a Z botanical name. Also a pretty common flower, also very hardy, but a much nicer plant imo.
[name]Mette[/name] - I’m not sure… Where did you find this one? [name]Do[/name] you pronounce the last E? Sounds a little like [name]Meta[/name] to me. Rather postmodern.
[name]Juniper[/name] - I love this one, but it does seem to be getting more popular…

[name]India[/name]–I’ve never liked this name. When I was younger I knew it from [name]India[/name] [name]Wilkes[/name] in GwtW, and I never liked the character. Now it smacks of colonialism.
[name]Eden[/name]–don’t care for this either. To me it’s like naming your child [name]Heaven[/name]–too much to live up to.
[name]Cecily[/name]–I quite like this. It is sibilant heavy though, so I think one has to be very careful about which middle and surname it is combined with.
[name]Skye[/name]–I like it. Simple, feel good connotations. But I worry that despite the vastness of the sky, as a name it might be a bit lacking in substance.
[name]Azalea[/name]–A bit overblown for my taste. Plus, though Uh-zay-lee-uh is nice, where I’m from it is pronounced Uh-zale-yuh, which I don’t like at all.
[name]Mette[/name]–Although it is interesting, I’m afraid you will have pronunciation issues in the States.
[name]Juniper[/name]–I like this. It has the same rhythms as [name]Jennifer[/name], so I can see it becoming very popular. Cool, evergreen connotations. I do find the ‘nip’ element vaguely off-putting.
[name]Roxana[/name]–[name]Roxanne[/name] is actually one of my favorite names. I don’t care for the -ana version as much.

What about [name]Rosanna[/name], [name]Ramona[/name], [name]Dahlia[/name], [name]Delilah[/name] or [name]Rosalind[/name]?

[name]India[/name]- exotic and pretty
[name]Eden[/name]- nms, sorry
[name]Cecily[/name]- love its old-fashioned charm
[name]Skye[/name]- love how spunky and modern this sounds
[name]Azalea[/name]- my favourite name ever! <3 (BTW, I pronounce it az-uh-lay-ah- my sister had a friend who pronounced it that way)
[name]Mette[/name]- loved this name ever since I heard of Princess [name]Mette[/name]-[name]Marit[/name]
[name]Juniper[/name]- also spunky and sweet

I love your names! Very unique in a good way.

[name]India[/name]… I wouldn’t use it unless [name]India[/name] has some special meaning to you.
[name]Eden[/name]… Certainly wouldn’t use. It’s a popular stage name for exotic dancers these days.
[name]Cecily[/name]… It means blind.
[name]Skye[/name]… Like it, I think it’d make a better middle name though.
[name]Azalea[/name]… Like it.
[name]Mette[/name]… Like it.
[name]Juniper[/name]… Like it, it’s spunky and cute.

The pronunciation of the name [name]Mette[/name] is MEH-deh.
