After years of obsessing over names, I’m finally expecting baby #1. I would love your feedback on my list of boys names I’ll be showing the hubby soon! [name_u]Baby[/name_u] will be half Chinese, half American, and last name is To (rhymes with “toe”)… which unfortunately rules out the majority of my favorite boys names with a long “o” sound (I’m very sad to have to let go of [name_m]Viggo[/name_m]). I would avoid one-syllable first names ([name_m]Rune[/name_m] To sounds like ruined toe) [name_m]Archer[/name_m] contains part of the foot ([name_m]Arch[/name_m] and Toe) and [name_m]Theon[/name_m] To would be “the on toe”.
Sorry but I don’t think most of the Song of Ice and [name_m]Fire[/name_m] names are usable. Perhaps Stannis may be ok.
I really like [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] but it seems like that name is very popular these days… not sure if that matters to you?
I also like [name_m]Thaddeous[/name_m] and have considered it as well but I think it’s a little too bold for me.
I like [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] too, my husband shot that one down right away with a joke about vampires…
I like [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] as well

With a short surname like yours, I would either avoid short first names or give two middles.

I love ASOIAF as well, but I generally think that it is very few of the names that are usable as firsts. I have a lot of ASOIAF names on my list of middles though. I love Rhaegar and Stannis (both the names and the characters), I have both of them on my list.
