Opinions please! Trying to narrow this list down!

Ok, someone pleeeeease save my last shred of sanity! Trying to name baby #5, our 4th boy and I hate it. Boy names are just so dang hard for my husband and I for some reason.

Currently have a [name_u]Landon[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u], [name_u]Greyson[/name_u] (nn [name_u]Grey[/name_u]) [name_m]David[/name_m] and [name_u]Corbin[/name_u] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]. Middle names are all honor names.

We’d prefer a name slightly off the beaten path but not unrecognizable although our first two boy names ended up being super popular which was a bummer.

Middle name will almost certainly be [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] after my father in law. Not a huuuge fan of that name what-so ever but…:woman_shrugging:t3:

[name_u]Rylan[/name_u] / [name_m]Ryland[/name_m] “dweller at the rye land”
This is my fav, but is [name_u]Rylan[/name_u] to feminine?
And does [name_m]Ryland[/name_m] sound like a theme park?
But I looove the nn ‘[name_m]Ry[/name_m]’

[name_u]Kieran[/name_u] “little dark one”

[name_m]Graham[/name_m] “warlike”

[name_m]Caden[/name_m] “little warrior” or [name_m]Kaiden[/name_m] “friend”

[name_u]Nolan[/name_u] “champion”
how do you tell a kid No when their name
starts with No? :weary: “No no, No-lan” agh

Kove/Cove “safe, sheltered place”
Really digging this one for some reason,
but feel like it’s to far off from our other
names and the whole possible covid
connection

Ryland- niw that you’ve asked if it sounds like a theme park that’s all I hear. Although I do prefer [name_m]Ryland[/name_m] to [name_u]Rylan[/name_u]. [name_m]Brylan[/name_m] is also an option to maybe nix any feminine feel or [name_u]Orion[/name_u] could even give you the nn [name_m]Ry[/name_m]

Cove- maybe depends on when you’re due? :woman_shrugging:t2: I’m sure [name_u]Cove[/name_u] this year would draw a Covid connection but ten years from now likely not. So I’d see it as a connection that would fade over time.

Nolan- again now that you mentioned it :woman_shrugging:t2:

Of all your choices I would say [name_m]Caden[/name_m] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] gets my vote!

Of all your choices I actually like Nolan the best! I think it fits your style overall while still being distinctly different. It’s also not super popular but recognizable. As for the no issue, I guess you could say their name first (e.g. “Nolan, no”) or change the inflection in your voice (e.g. no, Nolan”). I have a little cousin named Nolan though and it doesn’t seem to be a problem!

I do think Rylan is too feminine and that Ryland sounds like a theme park, unfortunately. Ry is a nice nickname though! There may be some other options for firsts to get to Ry.

I love Kieran and think it could work well with your other boys. I just think Nolan fits better overall.

Graham is awesome and probably my favorite on your list but I think it’s a little too matchy with Grey.

Caden and Kaiden are both extremely popular, probably more so than Landon or any other name on this post. I would definitely avoid it if you don’t want something super popular again.

I like Cove but I don’t think it matches your style very well, and I definitely think it’ll be associated with COVID.

With my accent, [name_m]Ryland[/name_m] doesn’t sound amusement parky at all. I pronounce it RYE-lend. And even if it did, I think it’s kind of a cute association. Like, his first birthday party could be, “[name_f]Welcome[/name_f] to [name_m]Ry[/name_m]-land.” That sort of thing.
Although [name_u]Orion[/name_u], nn [name_m]Ry[/name_m], is a pretty fabulous suggestion too.
[name_f]My[/name_f] two cents, for what it’s worth :slightly_smiling_face:

Congratulations!

I first want to say that [name_u]Landon[/name_u], [name_u]Greyson[/name_u] and [name_u]Corbin[/name_u] are such beautiful names! I’m not sure if this was planned but I absolutely love how each of their names end in the same sound. This made reading your list of names a little easier to tell which ones fit more, in my personal opinion.

I went through a phase where I loved the name [name_u]Rylan[/name_u], I too have a warm spot for the nickname [name_m]Ry[/name_m] and felt it was a name that was unique in it’s own way but with similar alternatives like [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] and [name_m]Ryland[/name_m], has it’s own beat but, is not too far off the path from traditional or more popular names! However, I found it to be too feminine for my personal naming style and haven’t felt the same about it since.

Kieran is such a sweet name and would go lovely with [name_u]Landon[/name_u], [name_u]Greyson[/name_u] and [name_u]Corbin[/name_u]. I also love the sound of [name_u]Kieran[/name_u] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u]. I myself am not the biggest fan of the name [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] either but I feel it works so well with [name_u]Kieran[/name_u].

I am 50/50 on [name_m]Graham[/name_m]. There is a part of me that finds it to be such a sweet simple name that can be adored in any stage of life, and then there is the other part of me that feels compared to your boy’s names it won’t mesh so well. [name_f]Awesome[/name_f] meaning however!

I actually love [name_m]Caden[/name_m], I think it might be my favourite off your list. It’s not a name you hear so often but still simple enough to coexist in the realm of traditional, classic or even trendier names. It goes absolutely perfectly with [name_u]Landon[/name_u], [name_u]Greyson[/name_u] and [name_u]Corbin[/name_u]! I find it to be an incredibly strong sounding name and I love the meaning of little warrior, so sweet!

Nolan is one of my least favourites from your list, I personally just feel that it has been quite overused in the past ten to twenty years, and although it would match with the “en” sound as your boy’s names have, I am not sure it would flow as well all together. I too find it hard when names have words within them like "No"lan, "No"ah, it would make some moments very testing I feel haha. Personally just not my favourite but still a nice traditional name!

Kove/Cove has a beautiful meaning and I love the sound of it, however I am just unsure of how well it would work with your other boy’s and I feel compared to their names, he would have the most unique name out of the bunch, which is completely fine, but maybe just something to think about with this one? I also can see how the association to Covid could sway your decision, which I personally agree with and would avoid for this reason alone.

I am gonna have to say that [name_m]Caden[/name_m] is by far my favourite from your list. I think [name_m]Caden[/name_m] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] sounds wonderful together, it’s a strong simple name but also is so sweet and loveable! [name_m]Caden[/name_m] goes perfectly with [name_u]Landon[/name_u], [name_u]Greyson[/name_u] and [name_u]Corbin[/name_u] while having it’s own individual sounds as all your boys do! I hope this helped and I wish you and your husband the best of luck on baby #5!

Congratulations again [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f]!

Congrats on your baby boy!

If you don’t like [name_u]Jesse[/name_u], could you use a name similar to it like [name_m]Jessop[/name_m]/Jessup, [name_u]Jesiah[/name_u], [name_m]Jesper[/name_m], Jeson, [name_m]Jeston[/name_m], or just [name_u]Jess[/name_u] to honor it?

Rylan/ [name_m]Ryland[/name_m]: I really like this name! [name_u]Rylan[/name_u] does not sound too feminine at all and [name_m]Ryland[/name_m] definitely doesn’t sound like a theme park. I do prefer [name_m]Ryland[/name_m] though, it sounds more complete. [name_m]Ryland[/name_m] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] is brilliant! It goes very well with your other sons’ names. [name_m]Ry[/name_m] is adorable!

Kieran: This name is stunning. I think it kinda sticks out from your other sons’ names, but if it doesn’t bother you then don’t worry about it.

Graham: this name is so soft and gentle. It’s a nice name, I just don’t think it fit’s in well with the other names. I also don’t think it ages well at all. All I can think of are graham crackers. (I went to school with a [name_m]Graham[/name_m]. He got teased for his name, so I’m just not a huge fan of it).

Caden/Kaiden: I know an insane amount of [name_m]Kaden[/name_m]/Cayden/and about every other spelling you can think of. In my high school graduating class of 37, there were two Cadens (spelt differently). And then there were two other in the rest of the school (of 200) so it’s very popular. I love the name, the meanings, and the sounds. I think it fits with your other kids, it’s very popular so not sure if your okay with that.

Nolan: seems like you’re already turned off of this name. I think [name_u]Nolan[/name_u] is on the rise, but I don’t think it’s going to get as popular as [name_u]Greyson[/name_u] is. I pronounce [name_u]Nolan[/name_u] Nol-an not No-lan so the “No No-lan” thing doesn’t really bother me, but if that’s all you can think, don’t use it.
(also there is a hugely popular youtuber named [name_u]Grayson[/name_u] [name_m]Dolan[/name_m] and they do a skit with a fake triplet brother named [name_u]Nolan[/name_u] [name_m]Dolan[/name_m] (and he’s kinda a goof and really weird) sooo that’s all I can think of)

Kove/Cove: I like this name. Once again, it’s SUPER popular right now, especially among girls. I know two Coves (one [name_u]Cove[/name_u] “[name_u]Coco[/name_u]” and one Kove, both girls). I honestly didn’t even think of the Covid connection until you said something. I really don’t think most people would so I wouldn’t worry about it.

Suggestions:
[name_m]Daxton[/name_m]
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m]
[name_m]Dalton[/name_m]
[name_m]Brantley[/name_m]
[name_u]Ryker[/name_u]/Ryder (that way you can still use the sweet nickname [name_m]Ry[/name_m])
[name_m]Quinton[/name_m]
[name_u]Porter[/name_u]
[name_u]Leland[/name_u]
[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]
[name_m]Grant[/name_m]
[name_u]Emmett[/name_u]
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m]
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]
[name_u]Wyatt[/name_u]
[name_m]Gavin[/name_m]
[name_u]Declan[/name_u]
[name_m]Finnian[/name_m]
[name_u]Keegan[/name_u]
[name_u]Carson[/name_u]
[name_u]Cooper[/name_u]
[name_u]Logan[/name_u]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m]/Kaleb
[name_m]Colton[/name_m]
[name_u]Hayden[/name_u]
[name_u]Ashton[/name_u]
[name_u]Chance[/name_u]
[name_m]Ethan[/name_m]

I hope this helps

Congrats! You have some great choices! I think [name_u]Nolan[/name_u] and [name_u]Kieran[/name_u] both fit perfectly with your other boys’ names as they hit that sweet spot of being familiar but not too popular. These get my vote!!

Rylan doesn’t sound too feminine too my, but I’d say it’s definitely unisex. [name_m]Ryland[/name_m] I like better, and think is kind of fun and doesn’t sound like an amusement park. I don’t like it as much as [name_u]Nolan[/name_u] or [name_u]Kieran[/name_u] though.

I like [name_m]Graham[/name_m] but it seems a little formal (more old fashioned perhaps) than the others. [name_u]Cove[/name_u] is unusual now but is on quite the upward trend, for both boys and girls. It also doesn’t really fit with your sons’ names. Maybe as a cool middle? [name_u]Nolan[/name_u] [name_u]Cove[/name_u] is cool!

I’d scratch off [name_m]Caden[/name_m] if you are looking for less popular–with [name_m]Caden[/name_m] + [name_u]Cade[/name_u] + [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] + [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] + [name_m]Braden[/name_m] etc, it’'ll feel WAY more popular than it is. Perhaps this may depend more on your region, but I for sure know way too many -adens.

I think you have plenty of great names! But if none of those feel right, you might like [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_m]Roman[/name_m] (!!), [name_m]Damon[/name_m], [name_u]Easton[/name_u], [name_m]Weston[/name_m], [name_m]Byron[/name_m], [name_m]Clayton[/name_m], [name_m]Dalton[/name_m], [name_u]Holden[/name_u], or [name_m]Kellan[/name_m].

My favorite from your list is [name_m]Keiran[/name_m]. But it sounds like you should go with [name_u]Rylan[/name_u]! I don’t think it’s too feminine at all. It’s a solid unisex name to me.
