Hey everyone, I’m new to these boards and would really appreciate your opinions on some baby girl names we’ve been throwing around. Please vote or yay/nay:
[name]Allegra[/name] (I adore this name, but only hesitate because I’ve gotten bad feedback from several people. Thoughts?)
[name]Eliana[/name]
[name]Serena[/name]
[name]Talia[/name]
I also like names like [name]Clara[/name], [name]Aurora[/name], [name]Elena[/name], [name]Gioia[/name] or [name]Melania[/name]. Other names that I like but won’t use because others have are [name]Milena[/name], [name]Ilaria[/name], [name]Arianna[/name], and [name]Gaia[/name].
I’d really appreciate any thoughts, honest opinions or suggestions you may have
I think the name [name]Allegra[/name] is great. The only downside to it is the allergy medication…(I’m not sure if you’re in U.S. or not)
I prefer [name]Serena[/name] and [name]Talia[/name] over [name]Eliana[/name]. Very pretty
I also love [name]Clara[/name]. It’s like [name]Clare[/name] with an extra kick.
[name]Allegra[/name] I love it! I would use it but here in the USA it’s an allergy drug. So bright, sunny & musical
[name]Eliana[/name] Very girly to me. So vowelly & light. I prefer [name]Elena[/name] which feels heartier & more classic to me.
[name]Serena[/name] pretty. I also love [name]Sabine[/name] & [name]Galina[/name]
[name]Talia[/name] nms. Feels incomplete to me like [name]Natalia[/name]'s nn rather than a legit name…same as [name]Livia[/name].
I really love [name]Gioia[/name]! Gorgeous & underused!

[name]Allegra[/name] is a big allergy medicine here. I like your other names, though. [name]Serena[/name], [name]Talia[/name], and [name]Clara[/name] are my favorites from your list. [name]Clara[/name] is effortlessly classic to me (I think of [name]Clara[/name] Schumaker). [name]Serena[/name] is pretty, but I think a lot of people associate it with Gossip Girl (at least I do). [name]Talia[/name] is not overused and rolls right off your tongue when you say it. [name]Talia[/name]… Very nice.
[name]Allegra[/name] - I like this, it’s so happy and sweet.
[name]Eliana[/name] - it’s a nice name, I like [name]Elina[/name] more, less frilly.
[name]Serena[/name] - pretty.
[name]Talia[/name] - gorgeous, I would spell it [name]Thalia[/name] but it’s beautiful none the less.
[name]Clara[/name] - This is very pretty too. It makes me think of the [name]Heidi[/name] books…
[name]Aurora[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this. [name]Aurora[/name] is so cosy and lovely.
[name]Elena[/name] - I never liked this name. [name]Helena[/name] is much nicer [name]IMO[/name].
[name]Gioia[/name] - My favourite on your list. Beautiful and unexpected!
[name]Melania[/name] - This is gorgeous too, prefer it to [name]Melanie[/name].
My top three: [name]Gioia[/name], [name]Talia[/name], [name]Aurora[/name].
Thanks so much for all your opinions so far. The medication is really what makes me hesitant with [name]Allegra[/name]. Not sure if that’s enough to kill the name for me…
[name]Allegra[/name] -if you can’t get over the medication reference, what about [name]Aviva[/name] or [name]Aria[/name]?
[name]Eliana[/name] - Pretty and feminine. Might get lost among other [name]El[/name]- names which are so popular. [name]Helena[/name] would be a nice option too.
[name]Serena[/name] - like it, but not as much as some of your other choices.
[name]Talia[/name] - i’ve always had a soft spot for [name]Talia[/name]. Reminds me also of [name]Dahlia[/name] and [name]Daria[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] - one of my favorites
[name]Aurora[/name] - very feminine nature name. [name]Love[/name] [name]Rory[/name] as a nn.
[name]Elena[/name] -Prefer this to [name]Eliana[/name]. More streamlined and elegant
[name]Gioia[/name] - I don’t know this name. too many vowels for my taste.
[name]Melania[/name] - prefer [name]Melina[/name] or [name]Milena[/name]
[name]Clara[/name], [name]Aurora[/name], [name]Elena[/name] and [name]Talia[/name] are my favorites from your list.
[name]Allegra[/name]- I love this one! Sounds very sophisticated and happy. Only downside is the medication…
[name]Eliana[/name]- Not my cup of tea…
[name]Serena[/name]- I really like this name. It always gives off a very peaceful image (obviously).
[name]Talia[/name]- Personally I would prefer the spelling [name]Thalia[/name], but even this spelling is pretty. I think it would age very well.
[name]Clara[/name]- I love the connection to The Nutcracker. [name]Clara[/name] is a very mature but is cute at the same time.
[name]Aurora[/name]- [name]One[/name] of my favorites. It reminds me of the dawn as well as the northern lights. Another plus (if your into that sort of thing) is the disney princess association. Only potential downside is that some kids may not be able to pronounce it (little kids often have a hard time with their Rs so it may come out as Awowa)
[name]Elena[/name]- Pretty
[name]Gioia[/name]- Not my cup of tea…
[name]Melania[/name]- Looks like a disease to me (sorry) …
