[name]Martha[/name]
[name]Agnes[/name]
[name]Monica[/name] [name]Rose[/name] (or [name]Monica[/name]-[name]Rose[/name] ??)
[name]Maude[/name] (really need nickname for it if my hubby is gunna like it or could possibly pair it up)
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name]
and could i have [name]Mary[/name] and [name]Martha[/name] for a sibset do you think ??
I like [name]Monica[/name] [name]Rose[/name] but would not call her by the double name. I think [name]Martha[/name] and [name]Mary[/name] could be a sibset, yes.
I really like all the names you listed! [name]Maude[/name] is the French form of [name]Matilda[/name] and I saw on another sight that it was related to [name]Madeline[/name]. [name]Maudie[/name] is a cute nn. Also, if you like the double fns, I knew an [name]Agnes[/name]-[name]Marie[/name] and I always thought that was a lovely combination. I think [name]Mary[/name] and [name]Martha[/name] are pretty close so I wouldn’t use them in a sibset-- maybe use one as a middle instead?
[name]Martha[/name]: Feels very mid-century. It’s not my favorite. I think of [name]Martha[/name] from the Bible (the worried sister) and [name]Martha[/name] [name]Stewart[/name].
[name]Agnes[/name]: My great-grandmother’s name. It just feels SO old. It doesn’t even sound nice to my ears. [name]Agatha[/name] is better.
[name]Monica[/name] [name]Rose[/name] (or [name]Monica[/name]-[name]Rose[/name] ??): [name]Monica[/name] makes me think of Friends. It’s fine, but doesn’t feel fresh.
[name]Maude[/name]: I was shocked to see that [name]Judd[/name] Apatow and [name]Leslie[/name] Mann have a daughter named [name]Maude[/name]. What an old old old name to give a baby. But it has grown on me a little. [name]Maude[/name] Apatow seems pretty adorable.
[name]Clara[/name]: Very sweet. Classic.
[name]Beatrice[/name]: I really don’t get the love affair that Berries have with this name. It just sounds too old to come back.
Sorry that was so negative. You clearly are fond of the VERY vintage names that are coming in right now and I am just not a fan of those names at all, so maybe you are ahead of the curve! Any of these names will fit well with the Hazels and Violets. Some of these names I think are just a little too “out there” or old sounding to really come all the way back, but they will fit in.
Honestly, I really don’t like any of these besides [name]Clara[/name], which really stands out as timeless and elegant next to the others. [name]Beatrice[/name] is nice but doesn’t seem as good as [name]Beatrix[/name].
I like [name]Martha[/name] and [name]Clara[/name]. I’ve become numb to [name]Beatrice[/name] after so much exposure on here, but in “real life” it could be fine!
When [name]Jennifer[/name] [name]Connelly[/name] and [name]Paul[/name] Bettany chose [name]Agnes[/name] [name]Lark[/name] for their daughter, I found myself drawn to the name [name]Agnes[/name]. But I think it was just the allure of a pretty pairing. On its own, I don’t think I like it.
[name]Monica[/name] is too dated for me.
[name]Maude[/name] has always struck me as a sad name, sound-wise, and I’m not sure it’s ready for revival.
I find them all to be lovely vintage choices with the exception of [name]Monica[/name] which I don’t think is ready for a comeback yet. It still seems like a middle aged woman to me instead of an old lady or little baby :).
