Opinions Please!

Can you lovely berries please give me your opinions on the following?

[name]Alessandra[/name] - prefer the full name, no NN, but I could live with [name]Alice[/name]

[name]Sylvie[/name] - I love this, but LN is two-syllable ending in ‘ee’ so possibly clashes

[name]Laurel[/name]

[name]Lenora[/name]

Thanks

Ack! I like [name]Alessandra[/name] and [name]Sylvie[/name] equally. I suppose if you don’t want a nn - [name]Sylvie[/name], as it less likely to be abbreviated.
[name]Lenora[/name] would be 3rd, and [name]Laurel[/name] - too close to the overused [name]Lauren[/name] - 4th.

[name]Alessandra[/name]- I know an [name]Alessandra[/name] who goes by [name]Alessandra[/name], it’s a pretty name, but I like [name]Alexandra[/name] a lot more

[name]Sylvie[/name]- I like [name]Sylvia[/name] more!

[name]Laurel[/name]- very cute! I know an awesome [name]Laurel[/name]

[name]Lenora[/name]- Very cute, possible nn [name]Nora[/name] is nice

[name]Alessandra[/name] - I have really been crushing on it a lot! I think it’s gorgeous. Not really for me, but I would love to meet a little girl named [name]Alessandra[/name].

[name]Sylvie[/name] - I love [name]Sylvia[/name] so much more, but I do really like [name]Sylvie[/name], too.

[name]Laurel[/name] - this has been growing on me a lot thanks to [name]Arrow[/name]. I would love to meet a [name]Laurel[/name], but it’s not really something I’d use, either.

[name]Lenora[/name] - by far my favorite! I adore [name]Lenora[/name]. I would love to see it used. I love the nn [name]Lena[/name] or [name]Leni[/name]. It’s unexpected, feminine, and a bit vintage. It seems like the Berries prefer [name]Lenore[/name] or the simple [name]Eleanor[/name] to [name]Lenora[/name], but [name]Lenora[/name] is probably my favorite version of [name]Eleanor[/name]. (Ironically, both [name]Eleanor[/name] and [name]Lenore[/name] are on my list instead of [name]Lenora[/name], but I think they sound better in the combos than [name]Lenora[/name] does…)

Good luck!

I love [name]Lenore[/name]. It’s such a great, underused but classic name.

I would suggest [name]Sylvie[/name] as a nn for [name]Sylvia[/name] if your last name ends in the same sound. And that would be my favorite from your list.

[name]Alessandra[/name] - Softer and a bit more exotic than the common [name]Alessandra[/name], but still recognizable.
[name]Sylvie[/name] - It’s cute. It almost seems too nick-namey for me. If your ln has an s in it, I think it would have too many repeat sounds.
[name]Laurel[/name] - My favorite off your list.
[name]Lenora[/name] - Not bad, but not my favorite.

In order: [name]Laurel[/name], [name]Sylvie[/name], [name]Alessandra[/name], [name]Lenora[/name]

[name]Alessandra[/name] – Pretty, but slightly frilly for my taste. I definitely prefer it to [name]Alexandra[/name] though!
[name]Sylvie[/name] – I love this name! I think it could work on its own, although it does sound a bit nicknamey. I like that the name sounds delicate like lace, but also has a spunky, energetic vibe.
[name]Laurel[/name] – As someone named [name]Laurel[/name], I can tell you that it is not a good name to choose if you are concerned about your child having to constantly correct people about their name. It is often mistaken for [name]Laura[/name] or [name]Lauren[/name]. I’ve gotten used to that though, and I even have come to enjoy the fact that people mishear it because it usually leads to a nice conversation about my name and how pretty it is. I like that my name is unique and that it is feminine but not frilly. Probably the best thing about [name]Laurel[/name] is its meaning – associated with victory because of laurel wreaths. I’ve even seen it listed as meaning “victorious spirit.” So anyway, I definitely recommend the name!
[name]Lenora[/name] – This name is so elegant and pretty! It is much more distinctive than [name]Eleanor[/name], but it retains that stately, old-fashioned beauty.

Wow, sorry for the long post. [name]Hope[/name] it helps!

[name]Alessandra[/name] - Some will say it is too frilly, but I like it. I also like [name]Cassandra[/name], but [name]Alessandra[/name] seems fresher. I also like [name]Alexandra[/name], it is classic and beautiful.

[name]Sylvie[/name] - This name was really popular while I was growing up. I always had at least two Sylvies in my class. I have an aunt [name]Sylvie[/name], a cousin [name]Sylvie[/name] and had a best friend named [name]Sylvie[/name]. They were everywhere. I never liked it for that reason. It seems dated and common/boring to me.

[name]Laurel[/name] - I prefer [name]Lauren[/name], but [name]Laurel[/name] is less common and just as lovely!

[name]Lenora[/name] - Prefer [name]Eleanore[/name], [name]Leonie[/name], [name]Nora[/name] and just about any other variant.

Thanks guys! Useless [name]Kitty[/name] I had no idea [name]Sylvie[/name] was popular - I’ve never come across one. I do like [name]Sylvia[/name], but I struggle to see it on a little girl.

Thanks for the input sunshine.10 - just last weekend somebody was taking about a [name]Laurel[/name] and I mistook them for [name]Lauren[/name]!

Thanks again.

[name]Alessandra[/name] - Beautiful, I love this. I would like to meet a little girl called [name]Alessandra[/name] too.
[name]Sylvie[/name] - My favorite on your list. I think it’s stunning, and much more interesting than [name]Sylvia[/name], which feels a little older to me.
[name]Laurel[/name] - I knew a [name]Laurel[/name], and while it’s pretty, I prefer it as a middle name. I had a friend called [name]Laurel[/name] while I was a kid, and she was teased for her name (often being called [name]Oral[/name] [name]Laurel[/name]).
[name]Lenora[/name] - NMS at all.
