Opinions please!

So we are 4 months along and we think we have come up with our boy choice and our girl choice! We like to have the name picked by the time we have the anatomy scan and find out the sex… so it looks like we are on track, just under 1 month to go until the scan.
I’m looking for opinions and thoughts, along with potential alternatives… maybe. I think we both really like what we have come up with- finally!
Additionally, I want folks thoughts on our sibset. Our oldest is [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] (middles honour our dads).

Girl: [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Susan[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (we aren’t budging on the middles because they honour both our moms). We both feel like it is a girl this time. We both felt like our oldest was a boy, and we were right!

Boy: [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] [name_u]Francis[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] (again the middles honour our moms- [name_u]Francis[/name_u] being [name_f]Susan[/name_f]'s middle name and [name_m]John[/name_m] as the male alternate to [name_f]Jane[/name_f]). I am slightly concerned that [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] in combo with our last name will sound very… [name_u]Jersey[/name_u] shore… we have an Italian last name, though the kids are about 1/8 Italian… our oldest is very fair, blond, and blue-eyed. What do people think about the whole [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] + Italian last name… is it a no-go, especially since we aren’t very Italian? lol

Thanks in advance for your time and thoughts!

I love your girl name! And I also like the name [name_m]Dominic[/name_m], however I’m not sure how well it goes with [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] …and that with the Italian last name I’m thinking maybe there might be something that fits better? What about [name_m]Donovan[/name_m]?
If your feelings are right though it will be a girl and then it doesn’t matter anyways

Yeah, I don’t think any of our boys short list work all that well with [name_u]Spencer[/name_u]… but its really hard because my hubby and I have totally different tastes in boys names. Others we agree on that made it on the boys short list were: [name_u]Evan[/name_u], [name_m]Ethan[/name_m], and [name_m]Austin[/name_m]. My husband vetoes most names I come up with and he would ideally name our next child [name_u]Michael[/name_u], if its a boy. I veto [name_u]Michael[/name_u]- can’t stand it.

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Susan[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is gorgeous! I would use that name in an instant! The flow isn’t bumpy at all; three names work for this lovely combination! Though I may be biased ([name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is one of my favorite names), I know that this name will be perfect for your little girl. [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] [name_u]Francis[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] is also handsome. Though I do not favor [name_u]Francis[/name_u] nor [name_m]John[/name_m], [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] balances the names out. An adorable nickname like [name_m]Dom[/name_m] or [name_u]Nic[/name_u] would be perfect for your youngest son. Though [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] is more common and shorter, it still flows well with both [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. If you truly love these names, use them.

I think its funny that you don’t like [name_u]Francis[/name_u] or [name_m]John[/name_m], because neither do we, but we want to honour our Moms… and they are just middle names and they sound okay together. Personally, I love the name [name_m]Dominic[/name_m]. I didn’t consider it at all for our oldest because I don’t like it with our last name… and I honestly don’t love our last name (technically its not mine… I didn’t officially take it) but we are kind of stuck with it. So do you think its okay to love the first name, and just put up with the rest of it? It doesn’t sound awful together (like no repeating letters or sounds- last name is similar to Bertolli- but longer with an extra syllable).
Am I over thinking this?

I know a little blond haired, blued eyed boy name [name_m]Dominic[/name_m], so I think the name will fit your son (if you have one) just fine! I am not fond of the middles either, but I think it’s wonderful that you want to honor your mothers. Have you ever considered [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] instead of [name_u]Francis[/name_u]? Those names are kind of similar. Your girl’s name is perfect! Wouldn’t change a thing about it.

Double post

I think there are some gorgeous Italian (sounding) names for men i.e.:

[name_m]Roman[/name_m]
[name_m]Orlando[/name_m]
[name_f]Valentino[/name_f]
[name_m]Leonardo[/name_m]
Raphaelli
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m]
[name_m]Marco[/name_m]
[name_m]Dante[/name_m]
Vivaldi
[name_m]Ricardo[/name_m]
Robertino
[name_m]Roberto[/name_m]
[name_m]Umberto[/name_m]
Varro

etc

I think they would go great with [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] & [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] (btw, I love [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], it’s a sweet girl’s name).

Otherwise, for boy names, I think the following would go with [name_u]Spencer[/name_u]:

[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Gable[/name_m]
[name_m]Tennyson[/name_m]
[name_m]Fintan[/name_m]
[name_f]Bryar[/name_f]
Ascot
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_u]Sterling[/name_u]
[name_u]Steel[/name_u]
[name_u]Douglas[/name_u]
[name_m]Baron[/name_m]
[name_m]Kingston[/name_m]
[name_m]Robertson[/name_m]
[name_m]Gregory[/name_m]
[name_m]Lysander[/name_m]
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_m]Aurelius[/name_m]
Chesterton
[name_u]Jules[/name_u]
[name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_u]Jameson[/name_u]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
Auberon

Cheers

Thanks for your input folks!
I don’t think we’re looking to expand our list of names at this point… its much too hard for us to agree on what we like… though I’m somewhat wondering if [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] would be a contender? Probably not… I’ll see how [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] + last name sits with me this week. If its really bothering me, I may bring it up.
@erin91 Its funny you bring up [name_m]Franklin[/name_m]… we were actually considering [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] as a first name instead of [name_u]Francis[/name_u]… I don’t know why we didn’t consider using it in the middle? Thanks for reminding us.
I think we just have to sit on this for a week or two and see how its feeling. We both really like [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] for a first name, but I hate that its so popular. My hubby could care less. However, I think that’s our back up for now.
Definitely loving [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]! Maybe we just have to pray its a girl!
