Hello I’m writing at the moment and I was looking for some opinions on my two protagonists’ names. I’ve never asked for opinions on them before and I’m not actually sure how well they go together. Firstly, I’ll tell the names and then I’ll give a description of both characters. Their names are [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], the surname being [name_m]Foster[/name_m]. They’re fraternal/non-identical twins, the story is a coming-of-age with both twins being somewhere on the autism spectrum. It’s somewhat based on my own experiences, I’m going through evaluation for autism now after years of feeling like something was “wrong” with me. It deals a lot with trying to navigate through the typical teenage experiences while having a neurological disorder.
Both the twins are very pale. [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] has short dark brown hair, just above her shoulders and hazel eyes. While on the other hand, [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] has black hair with blue-green eyes. Both have more stereotypically masculine interests, are considered a bit eccentric by others and are unsure of who they are or where they fit. [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] is very quiet, intelligent and curious while [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] is more extroverted and loud, a bit awkward. He feels more self-consciousness and a desire to fit in than [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] does. Oh, and I actually had heights for them too, haha. [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] is 5’8 and [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] is 5’5.
I think that’s it really, I have longer descriptions but that’s more about how autism affects them individually and it’s not relevant to the descriptions of their personalities. So, do the names go together okay as a sibset? And do they suit the descriptions? Thank you!
