Opinions please?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m], I’m very stuck between [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. Can you tell me your thoughts on both?

They’re both lovely in my opinion. “[name_f]Delilah[/name_f]” is softer sounding while “[name_u]Dakota[/name_u]” is stronger sounding. It’s a matter of personal preference. I’m partial to [name_f]Delilah[/name_f].

[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] would be my personal preference, because to me [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] falls into the ‘place names’ naming category like [name_m]Bronx[/name_m], [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u], [name_u]London[/name_u]. [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is just so much more substantial with some history behind it.

[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] sounds beautiful but I’m bothered by the repeating O sound in [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]

I’m not personally a fan of [name_u]Dakota[/name_u], so I say [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. Also agree with pp that [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a repetitive long-O sound and doesn’t quite flow as well as [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].

Definitely [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. It is stunning!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] is a fine name, but I just don’t like how harsh it sounds.

[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is beautiful

[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is beautiful! I think [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] is a nice name, but I’ve only known boys named [name_u]Dakota[/name_u], so I have a hard time picturing it on a girl. I definitely like [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] more.

[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is beautiful. [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] are the names of two states and, to me, unsuitable names for children.

[name_u]Dakota[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is stunning

Definitely [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]! It’s spunky but feminine and has some nice nicknames. [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] feels quite masculine and even a tad bit dated, and I dislike nickname Kota.

[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is so pretty and girly, but [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] is just hard. [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] all the way.

Neither are particularly my style but I would choose [name_f]Delilah[/name_f].

[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]!

I’ve never been a fan of [name_u]Dakota[/name_u]. [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] would be my choice.

I like both but personally I like the name [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] over [name_u]Dakota[/name_u]

Please don’t do [name_u]Dakota[/name_u]. When I say this, I don’t mean to upset or hurt anyone’s feelings. I’m sorry if I come off like that in any way; that’s not my intention.

I’ve been working in the animal field for a while now—currently working at a doggie daycare and boarding facility while I’m going to school—and [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] is a VERY popular dog name. Like, Top 20 Dog Name Lists popular. I’ve working around several different facilities for years, and I’ve met so many Dakotas/Kodas who’re dogs. At this point, all I can see it as a dog name; it’s up there with [name_m]Buddy[/name_m], [name_u]Lucky[/name_u], and [name_m]Bear[/name_m]. So I beg of you, please don’t use [name_u]Dakota[/name_u]. Please. (Side note: my cousin almost named his daughter [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] as well, and I told him the exact same thing I’m telling you. And we live in the same zip code/area where it’s so common amongst people to have a dog named [name_m]Koda[/name_m]/[name_u]Dakota[/name_u]. Please don’t give a baby a popular “dog name”.)

[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is a gorgeous name. I love that name. It’s very soft, sweet, and adorable. [name_f]Lila[/name_f]/[name_f]Lilah[/name_f] is a precious nickname too.

I like both of them but what steers me away from [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is the person in the Bible. She isn’t necessarily the most respectable person. I love [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] though.
