Everyone I know thinks I’m a weirdo for coming up with elaborate name combos for kids I’ll never have. But hey, it appears I’ve found some like-minded people!
I’m not a mom-to-be in need of help, but it would make me very happy if you guys could take the time to comment on my favorite names list.
(Disclaimer: My style is a bit extravagant and that’s not everybody’s thing)
[name_m]Algernon[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Bram[/name_m] - I love the Victorian vibe of [name_m]Algernon[/name_m] and the sounds and i enjou the possibilty of nn AJ
[name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] [name_m]Piers[/name_m] - great flow - bold and interesting
Camus [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] - I’m not sure on Camus. It feels a bit awkward to me. [name_m]Caius[/name_m], [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] and [name_m]Linus[/name_m] could be altenatives
[name_m]Percival[/name_m] [name_m]Amos[/name_m] [name_u]Ren[/name_u]é -i love this! It feels really grand, literary and adventurous but nn [name_u]Percy[/name_u] is cute!
[name_m]Aloysius[/name_m] [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_u]Lionel[/name_u] - i think [name_m]Aloysius[/name_m] looks really cool but i find it really hard to say - that’s probably just me through. [name_m]Aloysius[/name_m] [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_u]Lionel[/name_u] is a really great looking combo and i love the sounds of [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_u]Lionel[/name_u]. [name_m]Amadeus[/name_m] [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_u]Lionel[/name_u] would be great too
[name_m]Boniface[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]Niels[/name_m] - [name_m]Boniface[/name_m] isn’t for me but i love the possibility of [name_u]Bo[/name_u] so that sells it to me. [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]Niels[/name_m] is a great combo and the whole thing flows well
I am a name obsessed not expecting or expecting to expect crazy lady too! It’s still super fun to think about & try to sort out your favorites.
Here are my thoughts on your list:
[name_m]Algernon[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Bram[/name_m] “AJ”-I’ve never thought of this name, but it’s kind of neat. The combo as a whole is very handsome. Are you a fan of Flowers for [name_m]Algernon[/name_m]? It’s a pretty cool reference. AJ is fun, & is way less complicated. I love it from the character in Empire Records.
[name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] [name_m]Piers[/name_m] “Finny”-I love [name_m]Phineas[/name_m]! Speaking of classic literary characters. Did you read this name in A Separate [name_u]Peace[/name_u]? That’s where I fell in love w/it when I read that in high school. [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] is so smart & quirky. Finny (I kind of like Finney, but either way) is adorable. It’s gentle yet a little sporty. I don’t love [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] w/[name_m]Phineas[/name_m] for some reason. Something like [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Piers[/name_m] sounds better to me.
Camus [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] “[name_u]Cam[/name_u]”-I’ve never heard of this name. It’s interesting. Is it Came-us or [name_u]Cam[/name_u]-us? The combo flows well.
[name_m]Percival[/name_m] [name_m]Amos[/name_m] [name_u]Ren[/name_u]é “[name_u]Percy[/name_u]”-This is adorable. And another literary character! I love [name_m]Amos[/name_m] too.
[name_m]Aloysius[/name_m] [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_u]Lionel[/name_u] “[name_m]Al[/name_m]”-Nice combo, but [name_m]Aloysius[/name_m] is just a bit much. Kind of hard to say & spell, right? [name_m]Algernon[/name_m] nn [name_m]Al[/name_m] works. I also love [name_m]Albert[/name_m] or [name_m]Alistair[/name_m].
[name_m]Boniface[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]Niels[/name_m] “[name_u]Bo[/name_u]”-Well, I like the mns a lot. [name_m]Boniface[/name_m] is a little odd for me. Kind of cool though…definitely different!
I’m a very opinionated person but you asked for it and I hope it helps. Also I love unique names as well so it’s cool too see someone else who does too.
[name_m]Algernon[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Bram[/name_m] “AJ” - [name_m]Algernon[/name_m] sounds like something from world of warcraft or something, I’m not a fan of it at all, but I love AJ as a nickname. Maybe a similar name like Algeore or [name_f]Alaska[/name_f]?
[name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] [name_m]Piers[/name_m] “Finny” - I like this name although I’d spell [name_m]Piers[/name_m] as [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] and change Finny to just [name_u]Finn[/name_u] because it looks like the word funny.
Camus [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] “[name_u]Cam[/name_u]” - I love the pronounciaton of Camus so much, I’ve never hear it before. Not a fan of The middles, I’d change it to Camus [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] [name_m]Sean[/name_m] myself.
[name_m]Percival[/name_m] [name_m]Amos[/name_m] [name_u]Ren[/name_u]é “[name_u]Percy[/name_u]” - I never liked the name [name_m]Percival[/name_m] or [name_u]Percy[/name_u] because of the sound of it, just the overuse of the s sound gets to me. I like [name_m]Amos[/name_m] [name_u]Rene[/name_u] though. Maybe [name_u]Perrin[/name_u] or [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] would be better.
[name_m]Aloysius[/name_m] [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_u]Lionel[/name_u] “[name_m]Al[/name_m]” - I love this name so much to be honest. [name_m]Al[/name_m] is such a boring nn imo, maybe Alloh, [name_m]Leo[/name_m], or [name_m]Esker[/name_m] would be a better choice? Not too sure though.
[name_m]Boniface[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]Niels[/name_m] “[name_u]Bo[/name_u]” - I love the nn [name_u]Bo[/name_u] but spelled [name_m]Bow[/name_m] or [name_u]Beau[/name_u] because [name_u]Bo[/name_u] reminds me of when people shorten body odor for some strange reason idk why they had to do that. [name_m]Boniface[/name_m] is unique but I don’t like that face is in it. Maybe [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] or Bonibel? Not liking the 2nd middle [name_m]Niels[/name_m], sounds more like a last name. Maybe [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] instead?
