[name]Hi[/name] Berries! So, the DH and I still can’t decide on a future boy’s name. & now we are TTC! Our little one is [name]Felix[/name]. Middle name [name]Newton[/name], and our top girl name right now is [name]Veronica[/name] ([name]Virginia[/name] is in 2nd place). There are lots of names we like, but nothing we both love. I have figured out that I like 2 syllable names for boys. I don’t know why…it just seems to be the running theme. That and names with an “o” or “v.” My husband basically likes any name with an “X.”

Here are the names we’ve been throwing around.

[name]Bruno[/name]- My top pick. The DH keeps saying, “No, no, no.”

[name]Dexter[/name]- The DH’s top pick. I keep saying, “No, no, no!”

[name]Asher[/name] [name]Roosevelt[/name]- We both like, but worry about the popularity of [name]Asher[/name]. We want to stay out of the top 200.

[name]Darwin[/name]- [name]Both[/name] love it! However, we don’t want people to think we are trying to make a “point.” Especially since my DH’s family is very religious.

[name]Quinton[/name] [name]Waldo[/name]- [name]Both[/name] like this one, but I am sad that [name]Quentin[/name] is the original name. I knew a [name]Quinton[/name] first, and had no idea this wasn’t the original spelling

[name]Griffin[/name] - This is a new name on the list. Not sure how we feel about it. [name]Haven[/name]'t thought of a middle name yet.

[name]Tennyson[/name] [name]Radley[/name]- I love this one. The DH thinks [name]Tennyson[/name] is a feminine name! Are the girls stealing this one?

Other names we like- [name]Jasper[/name], [name]Samson[/name], [name]Maxwell[/name], [name]Desmond[/name], [name]Declan[/name], [name]Edwin[/name]…

We just haven’t fallen in love with a name! Any new suggestions would be great!! Any names I should cross off this list? Which ones do you like!

ottilie- I wish I loved [name]Benno[/name]! I want to love [name]Benno[/name]! My husband and I both have brothers named [name]Benjamin[/name], so this would be a great way to honor them. I just worry that it sounds too much like a nickname, and not a real, grown up name. Also, [name]Waldo[/name] would be for [name]Ralph[/name] [name]Waldo[/name] [name]Emerson[/name], who I adore, and [name]Roosevelt[/name] would be after [name]Teddy[/name] [name]Roosevelt[/name]. My great great grandfather was one of his rough riders, plus he was just kind of a bad ass! [name]Radley[/name] I took from one of my favorite books… To Kill a Mockingbird.

alzora- Thanks!! Right now we are thinking the middle name [name]Azalea[/name] for [name]Veronica[/name]. But we are open to suggestions I think [name]Virginia[/name] would be [name]Virginia[/name] [name]Willow[/name]. I like [name]Crosby[/name], and [name]Royal[/name] is one of my guilty pleasure names! I love it, but don’t think I could actually use it. The DH definitely says, “No.” Speaking of him… he loves [name]Baxter[/name]! But, I don’t :-/

goodkarmavt- Thanks for the suggestions! I like [name]Edmund[/name], but it has the same issue as [name]Edwin[/name], which is that we don’t like the nickname [name]Eddie[/name]. I like [name]Winston[/name] too. I do, however, have a nephew named [name]Weston[/name]. [name]Owen[/name] would be on the list, but we took it off due to its popularity.

I think it’s so hard to find TWO names of the same gender that you love. [name]Felix[/name] was our first love…what can top that?!

[name]Bruno[/name] and [name]Dexter[/name] - I agree with you, I don’t like either. All names have the potential to be teased, but I can see a lot of teasing potential with these two.

[name]Asher[/name] [name]Roosevelt[/name] - I really like this one. It sounds nice with [name]Felix[/name] [name]Newton[/name], and it flows well. I wouldn’t worry about [name]Asher[/name]'s popularity so much. It’s more common in suggestions than with actual people. I’ve volunteered in a large daycare for several years, and have only met one [name]Asher[/name] the entire time.

[name]Darwin[/name] - I like this one, but I see a lot of teasing with this one as well, especially in [name]Junior[/name]/High school because of [name]Charles[/name] [name]Darwin[/name].

[name]Quinton[/name] [name]Waldo[/name] - I personally don’t like this one. Not because of the spelling, but because it’s not my style. Where’s [name]Waldo[/name] is also a popular children’s book, and [name]Waldo[/name] has been joked about quite often lately. Spellings are changeable, so don’t worry about changing one letter (it’s not like you’re changing it to Qwintynn for example). [name]Quinton[/name] and [name]Quentin[/name] are also pronounced differently in my opinion

[name]Griffin[/name], [name]Jasper[/name], [name]Samson[/name], [name]Declan[/name] - i really like these. None are super popular (except maybe [name]Jasper[/name] and [name]Declan[/name] as they are starting to gain popularity), and they age well.

[name]Tennyson[/name] [name]Radley[/name] - I love this one. It’s different, cute, and sounds great with [name]Felix[/name] [name]Newton[/name]. I personally love this name for a girl (but I love boy names on girls), but I’ve never heard of a boy or girl with this name. It sounds a lot like the name [name]Madison[/name] to me (which is way more popular for girls), so he could be thinking the same thing.

[name]Maxwell[/name] - My favorite one from your list. I love it, it’s nice, ages well, and has the nickname [name]Max[/name].

My only suggestions would be [name]August[/name] and [name]Gideon[/name].

I just love [name]Bruno[/name]. Go with it. You’ll love it, and others will too. It’s Strong and sophisticated, and simple. [name]Urban[/name] types like it more than suburban. I personally know a baby [name]Bruno[/name], who is anglo, brown hair, and blue eyes. And it’s such a cool name, and other’s like it too. The other names listed are your typical nameberrish names that are a little too dorky to me. Although, don’t be discouraged that some dogs and bears are named [name]Bruno[/name].

I like [name]Harvey[/name], too, but my sister-in-law who is pregnant loves that name (it’s a family name) but her husband won’t let her use it. I would feel bad using it.

[name]Asher[/name] - I used to love this name but I see it everywhere so it’s not a favorite anymore.
[name]Quinton[/name] - I like it but would only use it for the fifth person in the family, or fifth son, or fifth child. The ‘quint’ part bothers me otherwise.
[name]Samson[/name] - I really like this (or [name]Sampson[/name]). Very cool name.

What do you guys think of the name [name]Atticus[/name] [name]Darwin[/name]? The only thing about [name]Atticus[/name], is the nickname debacle. I would want him to go by his full name, and not “[name]Atti[/name]” with seems feminine to me.
