With the last name Darling, I would probably avoid names ending in ‘ie’ or ‘y’ because it could sound like a cutesy nickname, like [name]Sylvie[/name] Darling (even though I love the name). This could be just me, though…
[name]Emmeline[/name]: I like the ‘leen’ pronunciation, but with your last name, ‘line’ is way better.
[name]Georgiana[/name]: I’ve never been much of a fan of the [name]George[/name] names, but it’s nice enough.
[name]Jane[/name]: [name]Jane[/name] Darling is lovely!
[name]Iris[/name]: I love [name]Iris[/name]! It sounds great with Darling, too.
[name]Arabella[/name]: A little frilly, but pretty…
[name]Angeline[/name]: The ‘leen’ ending doesn’t sound good with Darling at all.
[name]Felicity[/name]: Again, the Y ending… it’s not that bad with 4 syllables, though.
[name]Rosaline[/name]: I like it better with the leen ending, ‘line’ sounds way better…
[name]Beatrix[/name]: It’s a cute name-- not one of my favorites, but nice.
[name]Viola[/name]: I really like this with Darling!
[name]Cecilia[/name]/[name]Celia[/name]: [name]Both[/name] are lovely, but I think [name]Cecilia[/name] Darling flows a bit better.
[name]Ginevra[/name] (nn [name]Ginny[/name]): I really love it, but the primary association for most people with be [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name] (not a bad association at all!).
[name]Evangeline[/name]: The endings rhyme…
[name]Louisa[/name]: I [name]LOVE[/name] this. It’s absolutely perfect! [name]Louisa[/name] Darling-- gorgeous!
[name]Briony[/name]: I prefer [name]Bryony[/name], though it’s not one of my favorites.
[name]Sylvie[/name]: What about [name]Sylvia[/name]? I love both…
[name]Hattie[/name] could be [name]Henrietta[/name] or [name]Hester[/name]… [name]Winnie[/name] could be [name]Wilhelmina[/name], [name]Bronwen[/name], [name]Morwenna[/name], Elowen, [name]Winona[/name]…
I love your list! You can’t go wrong with any of them, but I think [name]Louisa[/name], [name]Iris[/name], [name]Viola[/name], [name]Ginevra[/name], and [name]Cecilia[/name] are really great.
