Our little girl’s name is Shaunessy [name]Clare[/name] and we are trying to figure out the right choice for her brother or sister on the way. We would love to hear your top pick or favorites. We are somewhat set on middle names, just need to decide on the first names… Here are some of our ideas.

Boys:(Middle name will be [name]Oliver[/name])
[name]Cohen[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Brody[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Lochlan[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Baylor[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
Kiptyn [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Jonah[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Callum[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Camden[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Dawson[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Kellan[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]

Girls: (Middle name could be either [name]Tarynn[/name] or [name]Skye[/name])
Brynley [name]Tarynn[/name]
[name]Allegra[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name]
[name]Emmerson[/name] [name]Skye[/name]
[name]Brielle[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name]
[name]Ellery[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name]
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Skye[/name]
[name]Ainsley[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name]
[name]Cambrie[/name] [name]Skye[/name]

Thanks!!

I like your daughter’s name! My favorite on your boys’ list is [name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] and my favorite on your girls’ list is [name]Emmerson[/name] [name]Skye[/name] (it’s a close call for both lists). Have you considered using just one m for [name]Emmerson[/name]; is it a family name?

I love [name]Oliver[/name]. I think [name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] flows the best, but I like [name]Jonah[/name] too. I love [name]Jasper[/name], but I think two names ending with “r” doesn’t quite work.

[name]Tarynn[/name] and [name]Skye[/name] aren’t my style, but they’re pretty. I kind of like [name]Taryn[/name] without 2 n’s. And I like [name]Allegra[/name] (I love that name) with [name]Skye[/name]. My picks:

[name]Allegra[/name] [name]Skye[/name]
[name]Ellery[/name] [name]Taryn[/name]

Boys:(Middle name will be [name]Oliver[/name])
[name]Cohen[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - I believe we had a big discussion about this name once and we mostly agreed that we didn’t care for this name…
[name]Brody[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - I like [name]Brody[/name]! Couldn’t use it though, I have a cousin [name]Brady[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - This name is SUPER well liked here
[name]Lochlan[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - can’t get hubby to agree , but I love it ([name]Lachlan[/name], though)
[name]Baylor[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - I thought about court rooms and then like it was trying to be brody with taylor…not a fan
Kiptyn [name]Oliver[/name] - I thought of kriptonite
[name]Jonah[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - it sorta all flows together into one name Jonoliver
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - [name]Dashiell[/name] is so fun! but the double L followed by [name]Oliver[/name]'s L doesn’t work for me
[name]Callum[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - really not my style…
[name]Camden[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - I really, really liked this name but i kept saying it over and over and it totally lost its appeal…
[name]Dawson[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - if it weren’t for the freekin creek I’d [name]LOVE[/name] it
[name]Kellan[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - I knew a girl kellen…sorta wrecks the boy aspect for me

Girls: (Middle name could be either [name]Tarynn[/name] or [name]Skye[/name])
Brynley [name]Tarynn[/name] - the sound is okay…but it looks strange to me
[name]Allegra[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name] - fun, cute, spirited
[name]Emmerson[/name] [name]Skye[/name] - I’d take out an “m” but I like it! [name]Emmie[/name] nn is cute
[name]Brielle[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name] - My Top 10 right now! (I like [name]Briella[/name], too!) My choice for you! [name]Ellie[/name] is my FAV nn right now!
[name]Ellery[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name] - I hear Celeary when I see it, but it IS cute! I just gotta tune the veggies out
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Skye[/name] - really cute (we have similar style  ) but hubby’s not on board…also it sorta wierds me out that (at least for me) its pronounced more like [name]LAY[/name]-en…the T is SUPER quick and almost silent…when its [name]Lay[/name]-Ton I don’t like it…
[name]Ainsley[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name] - my brain can’t figure out how to say this…
[name]Cambrie[/name] [name]Skye[/name] - I live near a town called [name]Cambria[/name]…that’s all I see…

Boys:(Middle name will be [name]Oliver[/name])
[name]Cohen[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]- i am not a fan of cohen as a first name
[name]Brody[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]- definitely goes well with Shaunessy , but is too popular for my taste
[name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]- i like it, but i dont think it goes with Shaunessy (something about the S’s)
[name]Lochlan[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]- i am not a big fan, it reminds me of the lochness monster.
[name]Baylor[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]- doesnt seem like a real name to me
Kiptyn [name]Oliver[/name]- ditto
[name]Jonah[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - i like it, but again i dont think it goes well with Shaunessy
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]- i think this works for you
[name]Callum[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - i think it goes well with Shaunessy
[name]Jasper[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - i love jasper and think it could work for you
[name]Camden[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - i like this name, but has been used on girls, so it doesnt seem masculine enough to go with a female Shaunessy
[name]Dawson[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]- can only think of dawsons creek
[name]Kellan[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]- i like kellan and it seems like a good match to Shaunessy

Girls: (Middle name could be either [name]Tarynn[/name] or [name]Skye[/name])
Brynley [name]Tarynn[/name]- i didnt think it was a real name, but it is. i would prefer it in its original form [name]Brinley[/name]
[name]Allegra[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name] - too girly to be Shaunessy’s sister
[name]Emmerson[/name] [name]Skye[/name] - i like this name and think this is a good match
[name]Brielle[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name] - i am not a big fan, it just reminds me of brianna’s and brianne’s
[name]Ellery[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name]- i like [name]Emery[/name] better
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Skye[/name] - i like this and think it would go well
[name]Ainsley[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name] - i love this name
[name]Cambrie[/name] [name]Skye[/name]- i like this name despite the fact that its made up

my favorites would be [name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Ainsley[/name] [name]Skye[/name] ( i like [name]Skye[/name] better than [name]Tarynn[/name]) but i think that [name]Leighton[/name] [name]Skye[/name] or [name]Emmerson[/name] [name]Skye[/name] sound better with Shaunessy than [name]Ainsley[/name] does, not matter how much i love it.

I love [name]Emmerson[/name] [name]Skye[/name] with Shaunessy. It just jumped off the screen! I prefer the spelling [name]Emerson[/name] too but I love the idea of ‘[name]Emmie[/name]’ so the two 'm’s works. It also looks cute with 'Shaunessy’s two s’s. I also like it spelt [name]Emersyn[/name].

2nd choice for girls is [name]Leighton[/name] [name]Skye[/name].

For boys I love [name]Cohen[/name] but not with [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Jasper[/name].

I like [name]Jasper[/name] & [name]Allegra[/name]

For boys, I think [name]Lochlan[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] or [name]Callum[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] work well with your daughter’s name. [name]Emerson[/name] (one m) is my hand’s down favorite for a girl!

Boys:(Middle name will be [name]Oliver[/name])

[name]Brody[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Camden[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Kellan[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]

Girls: (Middle name could be either [name]Tarynn[/name] or [name]Skye[/name])

[name]Emmerson[/name] [name]Skye[/name]
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Skye[/name]

I like [name]Lochlan[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] or [name]Cambrie[/name] [name]Skye[/name]

with your DD’s name, I like:
[name]Cohen[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Lochlan[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Callum[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Camden[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]

Brynley [name]Tarynn[/name]
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Skye[/name]
[name]Ainsley[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name]

Shaunessy [name]Clare[/name] - pretty name!

Boys:(Middle name will be [name]Oliver[/name])
[name]Cohen[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - would stay away from this. Has caused a lot of heated discussion on Nameberry, so I can imagine what would happen to a real person with this name.
[name]Brody[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - love
[name]Lochlan[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - starting to like this name, but I prefer [name]Lachlan[/name].
[name]Baylor[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
Kiptyn [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Jonah[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - like
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - love
[name]Callum[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - love
[name]Jasper[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - love
[name]Camden[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - like [name]Camden[/name] for a girl.
[name]Dawson[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Kellan[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - like
love the middle name [name]Oliver[/name].

Girls: (Middle name could be either [name]Tarynn[/name] or [name]Skye[/name])
Brynley [name]Tarynn[/name]
[name]Allegra[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name]
[name]Emmerson[/name] [name]Skye[/name]
[name]Brielle[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name]
[name]Ellery[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name] - like the best of this girls’ name list.
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Skye[/name]
[name]Ainsley[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name] - starting to like better
[name]Cambrie[/name] [name]Skye[/name] - like [name]Cambria[/name] nn [name]Cambrie[/name]

What about [name]Camden[/name] [name]Skye[/name]? Or [name]Camryn[/name] [name]Skye[/name]?

I’m intrigued by your list b/c a couple of your names are on the top of our list.

Boys:(Middle name will be [name]Oliver[/name])
[name]Cohen[/name] I think this name actually sounds pretty cool. For a name I’d never heard, it doesn’t sound made up to me.
[name]Brody[/name] - [name]Just[/name] ok for me.
[name]Sebastian[/name] - I’m in the minority on this name. It sounds a little stuck-up to me (sort of elitist rich private school if that makes any sense).
[name]Lochlan[/name] - Like it and agree with the others that [name]Lachlan[/name] > [name]Lochlan[/name]
[name]Baylor[/name] - Like it, don’t love it (but definitely like it better for a boy than a girl).
Kiptyn - Like the sound, don’t like the odd spelling. Not a big fan of [name]Kip[/name] as a nn though.
[name]Jonah[/name] - Like it.
[name]Dashiell[/name] - Like it.
[name]Callum[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - Like it, close to loving it.
[name]Jasper[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - In the minority on this one as well. I don’t hate it, but I don’t have the love for it that many do. I think of the old man on The Simpsons.
[name]Camden[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - I think [name]Camden[/name] is a great unisex name. Know that many guys will think of [name]Camden[/name] Yards (home field of the [name]Baltimore[/name] Orioles)
[name]Dawson[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - I really like [name]Dawson[/name] a lot and in five years, a very small portion of the population will link it with [name]Dawson[/name]'s Creek.
[name]Kellan[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] it. It was hands down our name for a boy, but found out we are having a girl.
Also, since we have a lot of similar likes, I’ll throw out the other boy names I liked: [name]Corbin[/name], [name]Donovan[/name], [name]Gannon[/name], [name]Garrison[/name], Brecken (or the traditional Irish spelling [name]Breccan[/name])

Girls: (Middle name could be either [name]Tarynn[/name] or [name]Skye[/name])
Brynley - Like it, but don’t love the spelling.
[name]Allegra[/name] - Like it and think it works with your other daughter.
[name]Emmerson[/name] - [name]Just[/name] ok.
[name]Brielle[/name] - Not my style.
[name]Ellery[/name] - Not my favorite - just seems like it could be too easily mistaken for similar sounding words and names.
[name]Leighton[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] IT…one of our finalists for our little girl.
[name]Ainsley[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] IT…another one of our 4 finalists (although I think [name]Leighton[/name] is ahead of [name]Ainsley[/name] on our list right now).
[name]Cambrie[/name] - Like it.

I might as well share the other girl name finalists: [name]Avery[/name] and [name]Teagan[/name], possibly Carrington.

Boys:(Middle name will be [name]Oliver[/name])
[name]Cohen[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - I wasn’t here for the discussion about this. I kind of dig it. Ethnically diverse from Shaunessy, maybe [name]Conan[/name].
[name]Brody[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - I don’t think it’s far masculine enough next to Shaunessy
[name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - I think it is just ok. I used to love this name a lot. I don’t remember when I got tired of it.
[name]Lochlan[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - I know it is getting popular, but I don’t like the sound and it ends with a -lin sound. I also don’t think it’s far masculine enough to be a brother to Shaunessy.
[name]Baylor[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - it makes me scratch my head.
Kiptyn [name]Oliver[/name] - why the y? I think of guys named [name]Kip[/name] and not in favor. I also think of [name]Tip[/name]-top.
[name]Jonah[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - this is barely masculine enough (I think) to sound like Shaunessy’s brother. Kind of [name]Joan[/name], [name]Joanie[/name]. A lot of people place dire importance on how the middle name sounds with it, but honestly, it goes. Depending on your last name, aside from any siblings, it’s a perfectly good name.
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - I think this may be the best of the bunch.
[name]Callum[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - another head-scratching name. It doesn’t appeal to me.
[name]Jasper[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - "
[name]Camden[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - I think is masculine even though some girls have it, but not with Shaunessy.
[name]Dawson[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - a perfectly good combo.
[name]Kellan[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] - a little more feminine than Shaunessy.

Is [name]Oliver[/name] just out for a first name? I think that’s the best part of this honestly. You have a girl named Shaunessy, it’s going to be harder to find a suitable strong name for a boy that isn’t real straightforward like [name]Michael[/name] or [name]George[/name]. I know you like pretty names and you have some interesting choices, so I would seek out something like [name]Oliver[/name], maybe [name]Simon[/name] or [name]Jefferson[/name] or [name]Reginald[/name]. I might be hitting this trend wrong, but I think you have to consider what’s on the other side of the line from Shaunessy - which I think is a really nice name on a girl actually. You just might have to dig a little harder to find a boy’s name that fits - on a boy - in your family.

Girls: (Middle name could be either [name]Tarynn[/name] or [name]Skye[/name]) - this will be easier
Brynley [name]Tarynn[/name] - I like Brynley or [name]Brinley[/name]. This will go great with Shaunessy.
[name]Allegra[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name] - too feminissima but nice
[name]Emmerson[/name] [name]Skye[/name] - like others, I like it with one m. [name]Just[/name] about an ideal match.
[name]Brielle[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name] - um, no. This is so far in every way from Shaunessy, it’s like you wanted to start over. Save it for a pet (now).
[name]Ellery[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name] - somewhat girlier than Shaunessy even though it is still technically a man’s name.
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Skye[/name] - my favorite.
[name]Ainsley[/name] [name]Tarynn[/name] - I don’t personally like the sound of it, but it definitely goes.
[name]Cambrie[/name] [name]Skye[/name] - kinda?

I vote for [name]Allegra[/name] [name]Taryn[/name] (I prefer this spelling) and [name]Lachlan[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]. I like [name]Lachlan[/name] spelled with an ‘a’ but I like your name choices! I think [name]Allegra[/name] is one of those names that is classy, fun, not too out there but also not too common and has nice possible nicknames. Best of luck!

I had to respond to Irishmuth’s post. I couldn’t stop giggling. My best friend is due in [name]September[/name] and has picked [name]Avery[/name] for her little girl, my cousin just gave birth to a [name]Leighton[/name], and [name]Ainsley[/name] is my top pick. Apparently, we have similiar tastes!

As for this list, I like [name]Jasper[/name] for a boy and am not a big fan of [name]Sebastian[/name] or [name]Jonah[/name]. I like [name]Emmerson[/name] and [name]Ainsley[/name] (obviously) for a girl.

[name]Hi[/name] Mommmy to be! I am a mother of 1! [name]Cohen[/name] aged 2.5 I am so glad that we named [name]Cohen[/name], [name]Cohen[/name]! I love names that have the same sound or letter and we went with [name]Cohen[/name] [name]Kristopher[/name]. Let me know what you think!
