Would love to know what you think about the following names below. Please be honest. I’d like to play around with making combos for some.

[name_f]TIA[/name_f]!

[name_f]Bernadette[/name_f]:

[name_f]Fern[/name_f]:

[name_f]Eudora[/name_f]:

[name_f]Tempie[/name_f]:

[name_f]Simonetta[/name_f]:

[name_f]Albertine[/name_f]:

[name_f]Greta[/name_f]:

[name_u]Marion[/name_u]:

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]:

[name_f]Georgette[/name_f]:

Hopefully it was ok for me to suggest my own combos.

[name_f]Bernadette[/name_f]: [name_u]Love[/name_u] this! I’m such a fan of uncommon, vintage names.
Combo: [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] or [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]

[name_f]Fern[/name_f]: Also love this! I would use this as a middle name for a child, if given the opportunity.
Combo: [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] or [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]

[name_f]Eudora[/name_f]: I like that it makes me think of a fairy tale.
Combo: [name_f]Eudora[/name_f] [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] or [name_f]Eudora[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]

[name_f]Tempie[/name_f]: A little too nickname-y for me. [name_u]Temple[/name_u] is a little more to my tastes with [name_f]Tempie[/name_f] as a nickname.
Combo: [name_f]Tempie[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] or [name_f]Tempie[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]

[name_f]Simonetta[/name_f]: Not really feeling this one. [name_u]Simone[/name_u] or [name_f]Salome[/name_f], perhaps?
Combo: [name_f]Simonetta[/name_f] [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] or [name_f]Simonetta[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]

[name_f]Albertine[/name_f]: It doesn’t appeal to me.
Combo: [name_f]Albertine[/name_f] [name_f]Honora[/name_f] or [name_f]Albertine[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f]

[name_f]Greta[/name_f]: It’s such a harsh sounding name that it gives me pause. I don’t hate it, but it’s not my favorite.
Combo: [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]

[name_u]Marion[/name_u]: This is lovely.
Combo: [name_u]Marion[/name_u] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] or [name_u]Marion[/name_u] [name_f]Fleur[/name_f]

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]: Honestly I haven’t warmed up to this name. It might be because I can’t imagine what someone with this name might look like.
Combo: [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Soleil[/name_f] or [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f]

[name_f]Georgette[/name_f]: Like this, but I prefer [name_f]Georgina[/name_f].
Combo: [name_f]Georgette[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] or [name_f]Georgette[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]

[name_f]Bernadette[/name_f]: I’ve never been a fan of [name_u]Bern[/name_u]- names, but there’s something about [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] that I adore. I’ve met a few so far and they’re all nice people. [name_m]Will[/name_m] be glad to see another [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f].

[name_f]Fern[/name_f]: lovely. I’m rarely a fan of super short name, but I like this one a lot.

[name_f]Eudora[/name_f]: nms.

[name_f]Tempie[/name_f]: nope. I just don’t see the appeal.

[name_f]Simonetta[/name_f]: I’m not sure. I’m not really feeling it, but I don’t hate it either.

[name_f]Albertine[/name_f]: nms, but overall quite nice.

[name_f]Greta[/name_f]: same as above.

[name_u]Marion[/name_u]: this is quite nice. Not exactly my style either, but I do love the sound of it.

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]: let’s just say it’s not among my favourite [name_f]Anne[/name_f] variants.

[name_f]Georgette[/name_f]: nice! It’s strong and cute at the same time.

[name_f]Bernadette[/name_f]: This is a really sweet and vintage name, though I really dislike nn [name_u]Bernie[/name_u]

[name_f]Fern[/name_f]: [name_u]Love[/name_u] it! Sweet and beautiful in its simplicity, would make the perfect middle

[name_f]Eudora[/name_f]: [name_m]Just[/name_m] makes me think of the word “fedora”, sorry!

[name_f]Tempie[/name_f]: Cute, but only as a nickname

[name_f]Simonetta[/name_f]: Feels kind of dated

[name_f]Albertine[/name_f]: Same as [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] but replace [name_u]Bernie[/name_u] with [name_u]Bertie[/name_u]

[name_f]Greta[/name_f]: [name_f]Greta[/name_f] is such a great name! It makes me think of winter and forests and I love its sound!

[name_u]Marion[/name_u]: It also feels dated, other names like [name_f]Marin[/name_f] would sound fresher. Still, I do love the [name_u]Marion[/name_u] [name_m]Crane[/name_m] association (some people on the other hand could find it problematic)

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]: Another name I adore! [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] is unique, unexpected, spunky and cute!

[name_f]Georgette[/name_f]: I really like the spunky-vintage vibe I get from this

[name_f]Bernadette[/name_f]: Honestly, Im not a fan. I dont like [name_m]Bernard[/name_m] and I feel like the sound is so heavy. Sorry

[name_f]Fern[/name_f]: I love this -sweet simple and beautiful imagery

[name_f]Eudora[/name_f]:I really like the Eu names at the moment and this is lovely!

[name_f]Tempie[/name_f]: I kind of like it though it does feel like youre describing a temporary worker

[name_f]Simonetta[/name_f]: like with [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f], i dont like the male name and the feminine version just feels clunky

[name_f]Albertine[/name_f]: Not sure, but ive said it over to myself a couple of times and I definitely think it could grow on me. [name_m]Albie[/name_m], [name_f]Tina[/name_f] or [name_u]Allie[/name_u] are all cute nn options

[name_f]Greta[/name_f]: I kind of like it. It has a fun vintage sound

[name_u]Marion[/name_u]: I like [name_u]Marion[/name_u]. I think it sounds strong but sweet

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]: love [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] - such a great and unique sound!

[name_f]Georgette[/name_f]: i think I like it, but only as a middle name

[name_f]Bernadette[/name_f]: Reminds me of [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] Peters, which is a good association. Aside from that, I can’t get past the “burn” sound and it feels a little over the top to me. It is interesting, though.

[name_f]Fern[/name_f]: I like the simplicity and nature vibe of this name. Wouldn’t use it myself, but I like it as a middle name.

[name_f]Eudora[/name_f]: I like this a lot! Very interesting look and sound. One of my favorites here.

[name_f]Tempie[/name_f]: Feels incomplete and reminds me of the town of [name_f]Tempe[/name_f] in [name_f]Arizona[/name_f].

[name_f]Simonetta[/name_f]: Not a fan.

[name_f]Albertine[/name_f]: This feels very old-school and could sound cool in a combo but I can’t imagine it on a real person.

[name_f]Greta[/name_f]: I like this. Very traditional but fun and edgy in its own retro way.

[name_u]Marion[/name_u]: [name_u]Love[/name_u] this, but I prefer [name_u]Marian[/name_u]. Nothing at all wrong with this name.

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]: Edgy and unique, though not my personal style. I like the idea of it.

[name_f]Georgette[/name_f]: I’ve waited so long to comment on this name on Nameberry, haha. Both my mother and grandmother are named [name_f]Georgette[/name_f], so I speak with experience! This name has grown on me because of my family members, but I don’t think I would like it otherwise. My mother goes exclusively by [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] because [name_f]Georgette[/name_f] feels quite stuffy over time. Whenever people call her by her full name I see her nose wrinkle a little bit. That said, it’s quite a sophisticated name in its own right and has its own charm. It sounds quite “old” on a little girl, and doesn’t suit every personality type. But when it does suit someone, it suits them strikingly well. [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] is quite nice as a nickname regardless!

[name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] would be a very sweet combination!

[name_f]Bernadette[/name_f]: I really like the so-uncool-they’re-cool-again category, and I think [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] almost fits there, but not quite. Maybe [name_f]Roberta[/name_f]? [name_f]Nadia[/name_f], [name_f]Nadine[/name_f]?

[name_f]Fern[/name_f]: I love this name - botanical, soft, no-frills. We’re considering it as a middle name.

[name_f]Eudora[/name_f]: I like this name quite a bit (and [name_f]Eudora[/name_f] Welty is a literary hero). I think it could be a sly way to get to [name_u]Edi[/name_u]/[name_f]Edie[/name_f] or [name_f]Dot[/name_f]/[name_f]Dottie[/name_f].

[name_f]Tempie[/name_f]: [name_f]Tempie[/name_f] just makes me think of [name_f]Tempe[/name_f], [name_f]Arizona[/name_f], “temping” for work, and tempeh, the vegan protein. It feels too insubstantial to be a full name.

[name_f]Simonetta[/name_f]: I love [name_u]Simone[/name_u] and [name_f]Etta[/name_f], so why not have the cake and eat it too? I can see people struggling to pronounce this one (SIGH-mun-etta? see-MOAN-AYE-ta? etc.) but I still quite like it.

[name_f]Albertine[/name_f]: this is interesting. [name_m]Albert[/name_m] is a very gentlemanly name and -ine feels like a very delicate feminine ending. [name_f]Albertine[/name_f] feels upper-crust and [name_u]Allie[/name_u], [name_m]Albie[/name_m], [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] ([name_u]Bertie[/name_u]) are good nicknames.

[name_f]Greta[/name_f]: I have a newfound soft spot for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and most of her diminutives. [name_f]Greta[/name_f] works especially well as a standalone name. I know a sweet 5-y-o farmgirl named [name_f]Greta[/name_f].

[name_u]Marion[/name_u]: yes! [name_u]Marion[/name_u] deserves more attention. Pretty and straightforward.

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]: I used to like this name a lot but now I can’t not hear “a nuke” when I say it aloud. Microwaves and WMDs are not the best associations! [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f] and [name_f]Annika[/name_f] are my way around that hang-up.

[name_f]Georgette[/name_f]: I prefer [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], but love that [name_f]Georgette[/name_f] could go by [name_f]Etta[/name_f] if she wanted to.

My favorites are [name_f]Simonetta[/name_f], [name_f]Fern[/name_f], [name_f]Greta[/name_f], [name_f]Eudora[/name_f], and [name_u]Marion[/name_u].

I love [name_f]Greta[/name_f]!

[name_f]Bernadette[/name_f]: Meh, it’s either hit or miss if I like -ette names. This one I’m not feeling so much, it’s just the [name_u]Bern[/name_u]- part I think.

[name_f]Fern[/name_f]: I wouldn’t want to be named [name_f]Fern[/name_f]. Sounds like something I’d name a pet.

[name_f]Eudora[/name_f]: This is absolutely beautiful & has a great meaning.

[name_f]Tempie[/name_f]: Yah, I just don’t like the sound. It reminds me of a few words too.

[name_f]Simonetta[/name_f]: I really like the Italian pronunciation, I’m not sure if she get that in somewhere other than [name_f]Italy[/name_f]. I like it but maybe as a MN. I’d prefer [name_f]Simona[/name_f] overall.

[name_f]Albertine[/name_f]: Yeah, I’m not big on a lot of feminization’s. The first part of the name doesn’t seem very feminine to me.

[name_f]Greta[/name_f]: [name_f]Lovely[/name_f], I think this is pretty.

[name_u]Marion[/name_u]: I love it! I think it sounds chic.

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]: Absolutely gorgeous, I always picture a little [name_m]French[/name_m] girl with this name.

[name_f]Georgette[/name_f]: See [name_f]Albertine[/name_f].

[name_f]Bernadette[/name_f]: I can’t say I’m a huge fan of this. It feels very stuffy and formal, and I can’t really picture it on a baby

[name_f]Fern[/name_f]: I’ve only recently fallen in love with [name_f]Fern[/name_f]! It would definitely by on my shortlist…I just love how soft and sweet it is, and the connection to the character in [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]'s [name_m]Web[/name_m] is a plus!

[name_f]Eudora[/name_f]: I don’t really care for this. It sounds made up to me.

[name_f]Tempie[/name_f]: I only see [name_u]Temple[/name_u], but I could see this working as a nn for [name_f]Temperance[/name_f]

[name_f]Simonetta[/name_f]: I prefer short and quirky, not too over-the-top names, so [name_f]Simonetta[/name_f] is not for me. Like [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f], I have trouble picturing this on a baby in real life

[name_f]Albertine[/name_f]: This sounds too masculine and for me

[name_f]Greta[/name_f]: Cute! Not something I’d personally chose, but I can definitely see the appeal

[name_u]Marion[/name_u]: I know many older women with this name, so this doesn’t appeal to me. I don’t think it’s quite ready for a comeback yet

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]: I go back and forth on this one. I love the look and meaning, as well as the vibe it gives off, but I don’t care for the sound.

[name_f]Georgette[/name_f]: See [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] and [name_f]Simonetta[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], though with the [name_m]GEE[/name_m]-or-[name_m]GEE[/name_m]-A pronunciation

Thank you all so much for your opinions. I realize many are not very popular and at some point I didn’t like these so much either but they 're really starting to appeal to me now. I guess it’s the ‘so uncool they’re cool again’ as a PP mentioned.

@silversky109: Thanks for sharing about your mom. I personally think she has a very cool, elegant vintage name! [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] is cute and [name_u]Jet[/name_u] would also be another great NN.

@gildedfairyx: So true with the Italian pronunciation, I love it so much!

[name_f]Bernadette[/name_f]: I love this. Spunky and not commonly used.

[name_f]Fern[/name_f]: Ok, but too gentle for my tastes.

[name_f]Eudora[/name_f]: Interesting rather than lovely. Not a big fan.

[name_f]Tempie[/name_f]: This is cute and interesting. I like it on its own but would love it as a nickname for [name_f]Temperance[/name_f], [name_f]Tempest[/name_f] or
even Tuppence.

[name_f]Simonetta[/name_f]: This is stylish and interesting. I prefer [name_u]Simone[/name_u] though.

[name_f]Albertine[/name_f]: I love this. Gorgeous, retro, spunky and rarely used.

[name_f]Greta[/name_f]: [name_u]Love[/name_u] this - stylish, grown-up, classy and simple to spell and pronounce at same time. And not over-used.

[name_u]Marion[/name_u]: I like this, low-key and warm, with plenty of history.

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f]: This is cool. Spunky and stylish.

[name_f]Georgette[/name_f]: Another great name with everything going for it. Cool, rarely used but simple to pronounce. Feminine and strong.

In all, a lovely group of names!
