I’m looking for some thoughts on the following names. You don’t need to be brutally honest, but, it would be helpful if you think the name is so old, it’ll never come back (similarly to bustles and corsets).
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] it! Nickname [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] or [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] is adorable.
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f] - Kind of blah for me. Not special enough, but not terrible.
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] - Pope. Come back because of that, but not pretty enough for me.
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] - Cute
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] - Thought of it as an old lady name until I had a girl in my class this year named [name_f]Gloria[/name_f]. Changed my perception of it. Not my favorite, but she could wear it well.
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] - Classic, but meh for me.
[name_f]Nellie[/name_f] - Had a girl named just [name_f]Nell[/name_f]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] remind me of horses. I like your other nickname names better.
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] it! Considered for my daughter, nickname [name_u]Romy[/name_u] works too.
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] - Already making a comeback, have seen many little girls with this. It is cute.
[name_f]Clemency[/name_f] - I am not into these types of names.
[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] - [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is prettier to me. This screams “corny” as a nickname, which is a no-no.
[name_f]Honora[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Honor[/name_f] better, but not by much.
[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] - I think this is too fusty and hold lady-ish to come back.
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] - I think of chickens…not very pretty.
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] - Great middle name.
[name_f]Annabella[/name_f] - Very trendy with the bella, not bad, but nms.
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] - Middle only. First name is too old lady-ish.
I hope I wasn’t too harsh, just my first thoughts and feelings. Some really cute ones on this list!
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f] - I tend to dislike most [name_f]Lu[/name_f]/[name_u]Lou[/name_u] names so I’m a little biased against this one.
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f] - Doesn’t stand out for me.
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] - I adore [name_f]Frances[/name_f]! She is on my list.
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] - [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] sounds a little blunt and [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] sounds a little lispy. Not a fan.
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] - A bit old lady still.
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] - Not my style, but forever a classic, you can’t go wrong with [name_f]Mary[/name_f].
[name_f]Nellie[/name_f] - Sorry I think of the song [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] the Elephant (I’m trying not to be brutal with my honesty but that’s my first thought, I do apologise!)
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] - Gorgeous! I love [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], she’s firmly on my list with [name_f]Frances[/name_f].
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] - Not my style but the V makes it a little spunky and ready for a comeback!
[name_f]Clemency[/name_f] - I prefer [name_f]Mercy[/name_f].
[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] - I prefer [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f].
[name_f]Honora[/name_f] - I prefer [name_f]Honor[/name_f].
[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] - I actually quite like this. I would love to meet a little [name_f]Marj[/name_f]!
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] - Though I’m not a huge fan of the long form, it does allow for some adorable nicknames - [name_m]Henri[/name_m], [name_f]Hattie[/name_f], [name_f]Hetty[/name_f], [name_f]Etta[/name_f] etc
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] - See [name_f]Lucille[/name_f].
[name_f]Annabella[/name_f] - A bit trendy. I’d rather [name_f]Annabel[/name_f].
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] - Cute in the middle but a little blunt up front.
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] my comments are not too brutal!
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f] - Sophisticated and lovely! [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite name for the nickname [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f] - I’ve always loved it.
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] - I like it and unlike most berries prefer it to [name_f]Francesca[/name_f].
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] - Not a fan, sorry. Seems a bit plain to me and I have unpleasant associations.
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] - Reminds me of the hippo from Madagascar. It’s okay.
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] - I prefer [name_f]Marie[/name_f], but [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is lovely, too.
[name_f]Nellie[/name_f] - I’d use it as a nickname.
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] - I like it!
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] - One of a few Russian names I like.
[name_f]Clemency[/name_f] - [name_f]Lovely[/name_f], although I prefer [name_f]Clemence[/name_f].
[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] - It’s okay. I love [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f].
[name_f]Honora[/name_f] - Not a fan, sorry.
[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] - Feels too old ladyish, but it’s growing on me.
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] - I like it, but much prefer [name_f]Harriet[/name_f].
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] - Never liked it, sorry. The only variation of it that I like is [name_f]Eloise[/name_f].
[name_f]Annabella[/name_f] - I like it.
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] - I like it, but as a middle name.
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f] - [name_f]Adore[/name_f] this name with the nickname [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f] - Not terrible, but I’m not sure I can imagine it on a little girl.
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] - Pope [name_u]Francis[/name_u].
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] - I actually really love this one and think it would be really sweet.
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] - I associate [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] with the Modern Family character, so I can only think of a sexy Columbian woman.
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] - Like it. Solid classic.
[name_f]Nellie[/name_f] - I prefer [name_f]Nella[/name_f] or [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Nellie[/name_f]. It is cute though.
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] - Not my style, but the nickname [name_u]Romy[/name_u] is cute.
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] - Pretty.
[name_f]Clemency[/name_f] - Not my style.
[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f].
[name_f]Honora[/name_f] - Not entirely sure how to pronounce this one…
[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] - I immediately think of a sweet old lady, but I think it could also work on a sweet little girl.
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Etta[/name_f] names. I probably wouldn’t use this one personally, but I think it could work.
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] - [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t love it or hate it.
[name_f]Annabella[/name_f] - I have met a lot of baby Annabelles lately, but it will always make me think of a cow.
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] love love.
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f] - vintage gem
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f] - Nothing wrong with the name but I’ve know many so it doesn’t excite me. [name_f]Frances[/name_f] - I love this version more than [name_f]Francine[/name_f] or [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] - a one-syllable Biblical standout
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] - Ok [name_f]Mary[/name_f] - Can’t beat this name for its classic style and abundance of nn options.
[name_f]Nellie[/name_f] - I don’t like this name ( along with nancy, nellie is a derogatory term for an effeminate male) . I do love [name_f]Nell[/name_f]. [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] - spunky and sassy [name_f]Vera[/name_f] - see [name_f]Lucille[/name_f]
[name_f]Clemency[/name_f] - better in the middle spot
[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] - I love [name_m]Cornelius[/name_m] for a boy but strangely this name doesn’t appeal to me.
[name_f]Honora[/name_f] - pretty
[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] - if the name didn’t sound so similar to magarine, I could endorse. I do prefer the [name_f]Margery[/name_f] spelling though.
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] - Unfortunely, I like the nicknames of [name_f]Hettie[/name_f]/[name_f]Hattie[/name_f] and [name_f]Etta[/name_f] more than the full name itself. [name_m]Long[/name_m] and clunky for now. [name_f]Louise[/name_f] - [name_f]My[/name_f] mother’s name so it has special meaning. I do prefer [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] though.
[name_f]Annabella[/name_f] - a little too frilly and feminine for my taste. [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is more my style. [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] - I love the gem and the name too!
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f] - I love it.
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f] - Prefer the [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] spelling.
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] - I could see it working on a quirky kid. But otherwise kind of a “dowdy” name to me.
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] - [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] does sound a little old-layish. But [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] is pretty cute.
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] - I dig it.
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] - i actually like this one. Its no longer mega popular, but still very familiar.
[name_f]Nellie[/name_f] - As a nickname sure. As a first name all on its own…no.
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] - I like it. Very spunky.
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] - I like this one as well.
[name_f]Clemency[/name_f] - Sounds more like a guy’s name to me.
[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] - I don’'t like the “Corn” part. Prefer [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f].
[name_f]Honora[/name_f] - Not my style
[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] - Sounds like a name for a little old lady.
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] - I actually really love this one. [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] makes a cute nickname.
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] - I like this one too.
[name_f]Annabella[/name_f] - Not my style. Something thats TOO frilly about it.
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] - Really cute.
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f] - Not a fan. For some reason I don’t like any of the [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] names
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f] - I think it is nice, fresher than [name_f]Joanne[/name_f]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] - I love this! I especially adore the nn [name_f]Franny[/name_f]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] - cute
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] - I like this one, very vintage
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] - timeless
[name_f]Nellie[/name_f] - Not a fan
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] - don’t like it
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] - beautiful
[name_f]Clemency[/name_f] - I really like [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] but this one makes me think of a pardon from the death penalty
[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] - nms
[name_f]Honora[/name_f] - pretty
[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] - like this but prefer [name_f]Margery[/name_f] spelling
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] - neutral
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] - prefer [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] but love it if you use the nn lulu
[name_f]Annabella[/name_f] - pretty
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] - I love this!
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f]- It’s very pretty. I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it as a middle name, but I don’t think I’d use it as a first. But don’t let that stop you!
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f]- I’ve always thought [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] was a lovely name.
[name_f]Frances[/name_f]- [name_u]Love[/name_u] it.
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f], nickname [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f]- [name_u]Love[/name_u] it.
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f]- I’m not sure this will come back, but it’s a fantastic name and would be very cute on a little girl.
[name_f]Mary[/name_f]- [name_u]Love[/name_u] it.
[name_f]Nellie[/name_f]- It’s a little too cutesy for me. I think it could be a nice nickname for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] or [name_f]Penelope[/name_f].
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f]- [name_u]Love[/name_u] it.
[name_f]Vera[/name_f]- I like the sound, but it reminds me of a rather evil character on Downton [name_u]Abbey[/name_u].
[name_f]Clemency[/name_f]- It doesn’t feel like a name to me.
[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]- I like [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] better.
[name_f]Honora[/name_f]- I don’t really like this. A little too virtuous.
[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f]- It’s my grandmother’s name.
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f]- I like [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] or [name_f]Etta[/name_f] better.
[name_f]Louise[/name_f]- [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is better.
[name_f]Annabella[/name_f]- It’s a little too frilly. I like [name_f]Annabel[/name_f].
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]- Cute.
Keep: [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], [name_f]Joanna[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Gloria[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f], [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f] - I actually know a 4y/o named [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]), but I like the name and don’t feel it’s too ‘old fashion’
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f] - I don’t really like this name for personal reasons.
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] - Reminds me of the pope. I prefer [name_f]Francine[/name_f] over [name_f]Frances[/name_f].
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] - I don’t think it’s bad necessarily, but it’s not my style.
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] - I don’t really like the name [name_f]Gloria[/name_f]. It reminds me of a great aunt that always pinched my cheeks at family reunions.
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] - I love this name! There are also different ways to spell it (ie: [name_f]Mari[/name_f], [name_f]Merry[/name_f]).
[name_f]Nellie[/name_f] - Reminds me of a singer from a while ago. I prefer to use this as a NN
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] - I like this name and all of the NN it could possibly have.
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] - Very pretty name, just not my style.
[name_f]Clemency[/name_f] - Not really sure about this name.
[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] - I prefer [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] to [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f], but I do agree that it’s a pretty name.
[name_f]Honora[/name_f] - Not my style.
[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] - Reminds me of [name_f]Marge[/name_f] (whose name was [name_f]Majorie[/name_f]) from [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m]. I can see it coming back in style though.
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] - Normally like [name_f]Etta[/name_f] names, but this one doesn’t really appeal to me.
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] this name! I like it equally as a first or middle name.
[name_f]Annabella[/name_f] - I feel like this is already popular.
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] - I prefer to use [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] as a middle name.
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f] - I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f]. Something about it has always stood out for me, and it has been on my list forever. I personally like the nickname [name_f]Lu[/name_f]/[name_u]Lou[/name_u] better than [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], but either is nice
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f] - I know quite a few [name_f]Joanna[/name_f]'s of different ages, but I think it’s a perfectly nice name. [name_m]Just[/name_m] doesn’t get me excited.
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] - This one is growing on me. I think a lot of people might think it sounds a little too “old lady” right now, but I like it.
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] - I would love to meet a little [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], but it’s not my favourite.
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] - This still rings pretty “old lady” to me, but I can see it gaining favour.
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u]. You really can’t go wrong with [name_f]Mary[/name_f].
[name_f]Nellie[/name_f] - I have a bit of a soft spot for [name_f]Nellie[/name_f], and don’t love any of the longer versions, but I can see why other people might see it as a bit cutesy.
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] - Really like it, especially with nn [name_u]Romy[/name_u].
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] - It is a pretty name!
[name_f]Clemency[/name_f] - I don’t really like this one…
[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] - This feels a little elaborate for my tastes. I much prefer [name_f]Cora[/name_f].
[name_f]Honora[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!
[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] - I can see this being cute on a little girl, but I’m not sold on it. I like [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] better.
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] - I like it, especially with nn [name_f]Etta[/name_f]. I think other people might think it’s a little fusty.
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] - I don’t mind it, but I love [name_f]Louisa[/name_f].
[name_f]Annabella[/name_f] - Seems a little to feminine/elaborate for me. I like [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] better.
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] - I actually love this in the fn spot and think it is way underused.
Favorites: [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f], [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
Other suggestions: [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] - love it! absolutely! super cute and fun but with depth, I’d love to meet a little [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] has never had the same kick to me, but it’s nice enough
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] - this is one of my GP’s. I’d never use it, but I find it very charming. [name_f]Sister[/name_f] [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] are my fantasy pair
[name_f]Nellie[/name_f] - I like it a lot! I prefer it as a nn for a longer name, but It’s cute on it’s own or just for [name_f]Nell[/name_f] also
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f] - I kinda prefer [name_f]Johannah[/name_f], but I do like it. I think it’s very classy but not pretentious
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] - I like it, but I prefer [name_f]Glory[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabella[/name_f] - very pretty, very versatile
[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] - this with nn [name_f]Nellie[/name_f]! love! it’s cute. It’s a tad dusty, but in a charming sort of way.
[name_f]Honora[/name_f] - as a mn I love it. As a first…see [name_f]Clemency[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] - I want to like this one. I guess it’s just a bit too…dusty feeling?
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] - it’s fine. it’s nice. it’s usable. it’s just not exciting
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] - this is one that I should like since I love V’s and I love short names, but there’s something about it…it feels a bit too sharp
[name_f]Clemency[/name_f] - as a mn I think this is fantastic! As a first I just can’t get into it. I think it’s because I can’t visualize any lovely nn’s.
[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] - this one does feel dated to me. There are so many lovely [name_f]Mar[/name_f]- names and this one just feels like a 65 year old woman
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] - too wheezy for me
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] - I’ve never been fond of feminizations and this one isn’t an exception
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] - I’ve never been fond of this, it just doesn’t have a pleasant sound to me
I think most of these are quite usable in this day and age.
I specifically like [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f], [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f].
Names that I don’t think really work are [name_f]Honora[/name_f], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Clemency[/name_f], and [name_f]Annabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f], and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] are my favorites.
Instead of [name_f]Annabella[/name_f] or even [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], I prefer [name_f]Belle[/name_f].
[name_f]Honora[/name_f] is pretty. One of my mom’s favorites.
Instead of [name_f]Mary[/name_f], I have been more drawn to [name_f]Marie[/name_f] lately.
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f] - to me this feels old without feeling classic or vintage. it’s not terrible or anything, just feels dated. on the other hand, I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Johanna[/name_f].
[name_f]Clemency[/name_f] - just nms at all. Not into virtue names, but I also don’t think this sounds terribly pretty.
[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] - the word corn bothers me, and to me [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is so much more beautiful and has such a nicer meaning, that I cant understand anyone choosing this name of her.
A couple other notes:
[name_f]Annabella[/name_f] - this is fine, but it reminds me of the word ‘antebellum’. I MUCH prefer [name_f]Annabel[/name_f].
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] - my grandmother’s name. Hasn’t come back yet, but I think it’s pretty and would love to see it make a comeback!
Thanks everyone! I was thinking about [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], however, one of the most famous, admirable Canadian women was named [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] (not short for anything), she’s one of 5 reasons (the others being [name_f]Louise[/name_f], [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f], [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and [name_f]Irene[/name_f]) why Canadian women have the right to vote and participate in politics. I think like, because she’s what comes to mind for me, it doesn’t need a longer form, but thank you anyways.
@vaness1 - thank you for the suggestions, I really like [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]. I’m not a fan of month names (except [name_u]August[/name_u]/[name_f]Augusta[/name_f]), but I have [name_f]Jane[/name_f] on my list, which is close to [name_u]June[/name_u] haha.
I’d love some more suggestions if any of you have them! I would’ve liked [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] as a name on it’s own, and I do know a 65 year old [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] (who is legally, just [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f]), but it’s one that not even I, the lover of nicknames as first names, can see working on most adults
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f] - I’m not a fan, I have a negative connotation with it
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f] - It’s nice, I much prefer it in the middle name slot though
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] - Too clunky, [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] is much lovelier
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] - [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is nice and the nn [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] is too adorable to pass up
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] - Not to be rude, but it’s one of my least favorite names of all time
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] - Simple, beautiful, I like it
[name_f]Nellie[/name_f] - [name_u]LOVE[/name_u], it’s very vintage and absolutely stunning
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] - Really lovely
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] - Absolutely gorgeous
[name_f]Clemency[/name_f] - Not a fan
[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] - I really want to like this name, but the “Corn” puts me off, [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is it’s gorgeous twin sister though
[name_f]Honora[/name_f] - Pretty
[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] - I wouldn’t use it, but it’s not horrible either
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] - Too maculine trying to be cute
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] - This name is in need of a comeback, there’s something very charming about it
[name_f]Annabella[/name_f] - Really lovely, a sweeter take on [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] it, especially in the middle name position
I think the nice thing about those sort of nickname names is that they can be shortened to a more serious form.
So if you name her [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f], if she ever wants anything more formal she can use [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]. Same with [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] and [name_f]Nell[/name_f].
That’s how I’ve always felt about [name_f]Gracie[/name_f] haha
I really love [name_f]Esther[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f], [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Viola[/name_f], thank you!
