Thoughts on [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]

Have always liked this name, but when I mentioned it to some family their responses were “[name_u]Adley[/name_u]? Oh, [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]? Hmm.” Which made me second guess it because I don’t want if my baby is a girl to grow up with a pronunciation problem. Which I didn’t think a name like [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] would have a problem like that.

I dont think it has pronunciation problems… It seems like a straigt forward name to me. I really like it, and I appreciate the connection to [name_m]Ernest[/name_m] [name_m]Hemingway[/name_m].

I’m not a fan, personally. It blends in with all the other -ley girl names, like [name_f]Hailey[/name_f], [name_u]Harley[/name_u], [name_u]Marley[/name_u], [name_f]Kayleigh[/name_f], [name_f]Kylie[/name_f], [name_f]Tinley[/name_f], [name_u]Adley[/name_u], Ailey, Maylee, etc. etc. Although it does have a bit more historical/literary weight because of [name_m]Hemingway[/name_m]'s wife [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_m]Richardson[/name_m], the sound is rather bland and trendy to me.

I work with a woman who named her daughter [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] and I have never once misunderstood her when she said it or heard her mention any pronunciation problems. Sounds more like the people you were speaking to weren’t listening well. And actually, I’ve heard the name [name_u]Hadley[/name_u], but have not heard [name_u]Adley[/name_u]. Though possibly a bit trendy, I like [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]. It’s cute.

[name_u]Hadley[/name_u] is a really straight forward name and way more popular than [name_u]Adley[/name_u]. I love [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]!

[name_u]Hadley[/name_u] is a gem among [name_f]Hailey[/name_f], [name_u]Hayden[/name_u], [name_f]Kayley[/name_f], & [name_f]Kylie[/name_f]. It’s literally the only one I can stand from that trend, but I wouldn’t use it for that trendy reason.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] it! No issues!

I agree that it does sound very trendy. Like stated above about [name_m]Hemingway[/name_m]'s wife is why I liked it so much. Thanks y’all!
