Opinions??

Im due for a baby boy soon and the [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] has been a top choice from his name. I’m worried it may seem too different or too feminine. I also am not sure on middle names. Anyone have some ideas on this? i also have a 2 year old [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] so im worried that [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] may seem odd.

When I read [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] I tend to think of [name_m]Matt[/name_m] [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u], the lead singer of the band [name_f]Muse[/name_f], so it seems pretty masculine to me. It does come with the territory that some people might assume he’s a girl - I can’t judge how much that would bother you, though to me I don’t think it’s a big deal.

[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] and [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] are nice together.

I think for a middle name I would go with a well known male name:
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] [name_m]Robert[/name_m]
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] [name_m]Richard[/name_m]
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] [name_m]Archer[/name_m]
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] [name_m]Tobias[/name_m]
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] [name_u]Owen[/name_u] (nn [name_u]Bo[/name_u]?)
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Bo[/name_u]?)
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] [name_m]Daniel[/name_m]
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] [name_m]David[/name_m]
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] [name_u]Hunter[/name_u]
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]

I also like [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] [name_m]Joshua[/name_m], but some people prefer to avoid the intials ‘B.J’

I definitely think it sounds feminine and isn’t very wearable.

I love [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u]! There’s a main character on The 100 with this name and he’s very masculine, so that’s my positive association for the name. I think it’s the kind of name people would come around on as soon as they saw how well it can suit a boy. I agree though - giving a very overtly masculine name as a mn would minimize any confusion.

I don’t find [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] too out there or too feminine, particularly juxtaposed with such a feminine name as [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f].

I love [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u], I think it is such a handsome name. I support the idea of a definite masculine middle name. [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] and [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] work fine!

I find it very feminine. [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] sounds stronger, so I would think it was a second girl. I would keep looking.

[name_m]Bennett[/name_m]
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_m]Benton[/name_m]
[name_m]Callan[/name_m]
[name_m]Callum[/name_m]

[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] is perfectly usable for a boy. I’ve only heard it as a surname, so it feels very androgynous to me.

We used to live in an area with a big preschool called [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] Manor which is the only time I’ve ever heard of [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u]. I think it’s really feminine and would assume [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] is a girl, especially if you call [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] ‘[name_u]Alex[/name_u]’. I do like it for a girl though!
