my husband and I love names that are very similar to each other. our choices are [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f] or [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]. both are gorgeous names, we just can’t figure out which one we love more.
I would choose [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f] because it’s unexpected and less popular.
I like [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f] best!! It has more flair.
I like [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f] if you’re Italian/Spanish, but [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] otherwise. I can’t picture [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f] on someone who doesn’t have that background, but maybe meeting one would change my mind!
Maybe consider nickname options for both names? They’re both long, beautiful names names which are likely to be assigned a nickname one way or another. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you prefer the nickname options for one over the other?
we’re white haha. baby girl will most likely be have blue eyes (I have bright blue eyes and her daddy has blue-green eyes)
I’m loving [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f]! I agree with the pp’s; it’s more unexpected and full of flair. It’s also smoother, I find X names to be a little harsher in tone. I also think the nicknames [name_f]Sandra[/name_f], [name_u]Sandy[/name_u] or [name_f]Andi[/name_f] would be super cute, especially compared to the usual [name_u]Alex[/name_u]/[name_f]Alexa[/name_f]/[name_u]Lexi[/name_u] nicknames that come from [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f].
I think we’re gonna go for [name_f]Alessia[/name_f], [name_f]Ally[/name_f] if we go with [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f]. It will most likely be [name_u]Alex[/name_u]/[name_u]Lexie[/name_u] if we decide to go with [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Alessandra[/name_f] is the standout for me. I love [name_f]Alesia[/name_f]/[name_f]Alessia[/name_f] even more as a stand-alone so if you were going to use that as a nickname I would consider going straight to it. [name_f]Ally[/name_f] is very common in comparison and there are soooo many [name_f]Allys[/name_f].
I’m in the minority here, I prefer [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]! I feel like it has more spunk, even if it’s more common.
Both are lovely, but I do love [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f]! It’s a bit different, but not so out there that people have never heard it before! It also does have some cute nicknames!!!
With names so similar, and long names, I would probably choose based on nicknames. [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] gives [name_u]Alex[/name_u], [name_u]Lexi[/name_u], [name_f]Alexa[/name_f], with [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f] gives Aless, [name_f]Alessia[/name_f], Lessi, [name_u]Sandy[/name_u]/i.
If you particularly love one of the nicknames, go with that name. Another decider could be how they both sound with your surname and/or middle name of choice. While I generally think flow with middle name is not very important, it can be an added bonus, and can help to decide between names you both love.
I agree! [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f] would be my choice even tho I like both names.
I prefer [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f]. [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] is lovely too, but [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f] strikes me as more interesting and different.
I prefer [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] because I like the nicknames better - I like the look/sound of an X! If you want something with a little more flair, I also really like [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f]. One little letter makes the name much more striking, imo.
