Already have a name picked for our daughter but we’re wondering what you guys thought of the name Natalyn?
I agree with @anon68906791 I prefer [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]
I have to agree that I prefer [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] or [name_f]Natalia[/name_f]/Natalya
Personally hate the spelling! I prefer these, I have a distaste for -lyn names, Natelyn while sounds nice doesn’t really have a nice spelling, here a few I like though and have similar sounding sounds:
- Natalia
- Natalie
- Nadia
- Neida
I also like [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] better
It sounds awkward to me because I’m expecting it to be [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] or [name_f]Adalyn[/name_f]/Madelyn. It’s not for me, sorry.
Not really a fan, but it could definitely work if you like it.
I see the appeal, but it sounds “made up” to me. [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] is a great name and it seems like you just stuck -lyn on the end of it.
I’m not keen I prefer [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] or [name_f]Natanya[/name_f] or [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]
While it does sound a bit made up I don’t think that’s a huge deal! It’ll sound like a [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f]/Adelyn name but tbh people do that with boys all those -ayden names! I think if you really love it, it’s a nice name but people might think it’s [name_f]Natalie[/name_f], [name_f]Natalia[/name_f], [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f], etc. especially over the phone!
I quite like it! Did you blend two names? I think every name once sounded a bit odd because it was a new combination of sounds. Someone has to be the first
I’m sorry, I have to agree with most of the PP’s. I prefer [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] or [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f].
It sounds a bit awkward, sorry
I’m not sure of the origins of this name but at a glance it looks like a smush of [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f].
It’s familiar but also very different, and it isn’t my style but I also wouldn’t think anything of it if I encountered someone with this name.
I’m sorry to say that I’m also not a fan. I personally much prefer [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] or [name_f]Natalia[/name_f].
I’ve seen a lot of classic names made new with a -lyn / -elle / - ette / - etta ending.
Generally, whether or not I, personally, like this “new” name depends on the flow of it. I think Natalyn sounds lovely.
It does sound “made up” but not in a bad way, imo. If I met a kid with this name, I would think, “Cool, so the parents liked [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] but wanted to give the name a unique twist.” Definitely not a negative thought, for me at least.
I don’t like Natalyn, sorry. It sounds a big clunky/clumsy, as if you tried to force [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] to fit the current -yn trend.
Some suggestions:
[name_f]Natalia[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u]
[name_f]Nathalie[/name_f] [name_f]Adalyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Natalie[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
