when i was little i had this game and i was just sorting through my stuff and i found a notebook full of names of my characters. some of them were pretty good! rate them/give opinions.

[name_u]Florian[/name_u], [name_m]Friday[/name_m], [name_u]Indigo[/name_u], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], and [name_u]Fern[/name_u] are my favorites.

florian (b) - pretty stylish, with flair and gentleness
violet (g) - sharp but sweet
hunter (g) - a bit harsh
safiya (g) - bright and sweet
friday (g) - it is very cool but the [name_m]Robinson[/name_m] [name_m]Crusoe[/name_m] vibes aren’t great
millie (g) - sweet and cheerful
raini (g) - prefer other spellings, but it’s pretty cute
sonny (g) - i like the sounds but [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] feels like a better spelling
indigo (g) - bold, bright and lovely
indie (g) - sparky and cool
ruby (g) - bubbly and sweet
fern (g) - warm and charming and gentle
amber (g) - nice imagery and sounds
nash (b) - very cool and snappy
rudolf ‘rudy’ (b) - [name_u]Rudy[/name_u] is great, [name_m]Rudolf[/name_m] is very reindeer
james jackson ‘jj’ (b) - JJ is great; [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_u]Jackson[/name_u] are not my vibe
carlos (b) - pretty cool and relaxed
topaz (g) - sparkly and spiky and cool

madison (g) - all-American; it’s okay
myai (g) - not sure how to say this one
candy (g) - pretty cute but I like it as a nickname, maybe for [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f]

florian (b) (6/10) It definitely feels very trendy, but I don’t mind it. It’s a good name but not one I’d use
violet (g) (6/10) A solid, classic name that still feels fresh, not my personal style though
hunter (g) (4/10) I remember I used to think it was really cool but now it strikes me more as trying a bit too hard to sound manly and outdoorsy, I don’t think it’s completely bad though, just a bit much. But I like it better on a boy
safiya (g) (3/10) I know this is likely an ethnic variation of [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] but if I met one in an [name_f]English[/name_f] speaking country I might mistake it for a “creative” spelling, and not a very nice one. Though if [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] weren’t an existing common name I might feel differently, idk
friday (g) (6/10) Though I’d say names like this have kind of lost their quirk due to becoming more popular, it’s still kinda cute and fun
millie (g) (2/10) Idk why but this one has always rubbed me the wrong way, it feels overly childish. Maybe because it sounds too much like silly?
raini (g) (7/10) I like this one and think it’s underappreciated, I would personally spell it differently though
sonny (g) (3/10) I sort of like it as a nickname for a boy but certainly not as a legal name for a girl
indigo (g) (8/10) Not my usual style but I really like it, it sounds kinda mysterious and hippie without overdoing it
indie (g) (8/10) Another I really like though I might be concerned about teasing involving the music genre/aesthetic
ruby (g) (7/10) This one has grown on me, another good, classic name
fern (g) (4/10) Kind of interesting and unusual but a bit too much for me
amber (g) (4/10) I have a hard time seeing this one neutrally because of the meme about crazy girls named [name_f]Amber[/name_f], and a kind of questionable one I’ve actually met. Not a bad name though
nash (b) (6/10) Feels a bit incomplete but otherwise pretty cool
rudolf ‘rudy’ (b) (2/10) Yeah I don’t think this one can really overcome the association
james jackson ‘jj’ (b) (7/10) [name_f]Kinda[/name_f] cool, I do think more people should start using initial names again
carlos (b) (4/10) Not bad per se but feels sort of dated to me, and not quite yet ready for a revival
topaz (g) (4/10) I have mixed feelings, but I’d say it’s a little too weird for my tastes
jocelyn (g) (8/10) I’ve always liked this one, it has a fun retro feel
madison (g) (4/10) I’ve never loved it, but I do feel the hate it gets is unwarranted
myai (g) (2/10) Might be hard to pronounce for a lot of people, and even when I do pronounce it the way I’d guess is right it feels clunky
candy (g) (9/10) It’s always been somewhat of a guilty pleasure of mine, I probably wouldn’t use it due to its perception as a “stripper name”, but I think that’s an unfair generalization and it’s overall really fun

florian (b) I loveee [name_u]Florian[/name_u]! Very floral, romantic, whimsical, and adventurous!!! Feels very gentle, sweet, unique, & stylish
violet (g) absolutely beautiful & very lovely!! I love the sass and elegance! It feels sparky & strong, but also delicate & sweet, which I adore! I love the connections to the color and the flower.
hunter (g) I don’t particularly care for the name [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] because it makes me think of hunting & animals dying, but I think it feels very down to earth and has the vibe of a “cool girl name” (mostly because of [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] Schafer, who I love). It’s just not my personal style, and I think it also kinda gives the vibe of “I’m not like other girls”, in a negative way, which is a little off putting to me.
safiya (g) [name_f]Safiya[/name_f] is interesting, beautiful, lovely, energetic, and captivating! I like it much more than [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] or [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] (which I find quite boring)
friday (g) [name_m]Friday[/name_m] is spunky, friendly, fun , and charming! Very “cool girl” energy in a fun, unique way
millie (g) [name_f]Millie[/name_f] is precious! I think it’s so cute and sweet. I know some people think it sounds too “young”, but I think it ages very well. I personally have only met 2 people named [name_f]Millie[/name_f] (one is middle aged & the other is in her early 20s)
raini (g) [name_f]Raini[/name_f] is cute! It feels very light, whimsical, and friendly. I like this spelling much more than [name_f]Rainey[/name_f] (which I think becomes too stiff feeling & boring)
sonny (g) I don’t really like [name_u]Sonny[/name_u]. I would definitely use [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] instead, and I prefer it as a nickname, rather than a first name!
indigo (g) love Indigo!!! I think it’s so cute for either a girl or boy, and it feels very bold, eccentric, creative, & adventurous!
indie (g) [name_u]Indie[/name_u] is cute!! I definitely prefer it as a nickname
ruby (g) love!!! such a beautiful, spunky, sparkly, vintage name, and I love it even more because ruby is my birthstone
fern (g) I really like Fern!!! It feels very natural, down to earth, unexpected, and soooo sweet.
amber (g) I have a horrible association with [name_f]Amber[/name_f] because of a person I know who has that name. It’s sad because I do think [name_f]Amber[/name_f] is pretty, & I love the natural, autumnal feeling of it, but I just can’t get over the negative association I personally have, to like the name.
nash (b) [name_m]Nash[/name_m] is cool, but not really my style. Feels very “bad boy / country” to me (probably because of Nashville)
rudolf ‘rudy’ (b) I do not like the [name_m]Rudolf[/name_m] spelling at all ( the spelling makes me think of spoiler]Adolf[/spoiler] ) . I definitely prefer the [name_m]Rudolph[/name_m] spelling that is used for [name_m]Rudolph[/name_m] the red nosed reindeer, which I think is very cute, friendly, & happy, because of the positive association I have with the character, although I think it feels a bit too Christmasy and too attached to the [name_m]Rudolph[/name_m] the red nosed reindeer character to be useable. I don’t really like [name_u]Rudy[/name_u] as a nickname, because it reminds me of “rude”. I prefer [name_u]Rue[/name_u]!
james jackson ‘jj’ (b) [name_u]James[/name_u] is handsome and cool, but not really my style, and JJ is okay, but i don’t really like [name_u]Jackson[/name_u], and I’m not big on using initials as nicknames.
carlos (b) I like [name_m]Carlos[/name_m] okay, and there’s nothing inherently wrong with it, but it’s not particularly exciting.
topaz (g) I really like Topaz!! Very sparkly, unique, and cute with a lot of personality, glamor, and sass!
jocelyn (g) [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] is pretty, and it’s alright, but just doesn’t feel “special” to me if that makes sense
madison (g) I really don’t like [name_u]Madison[/name_u], mainly because of how overused it is. It feels very boring, and the name in itself is not very pretty or interesting to me.
myai (g) im not sure how to pronounce this one, and would definitely prefer [name_f]Maia[/name_f] or [name_f]Maya[/name_f] instead
candy (g) I like [name_f]Candy[/name_f] okay , but I prefer it with a K! I usually do not like most K names, because they feel too modern / Kardashian to me, but I think a K on [name_f]Kandy[/name_f] or [name_f]Kandi[/name_f] adds some sass & spunk to the sweetness of [name_f]Candy[/name_f]!
