We’re in love with [name_f]Evie[/name_f] if this baby is a girl. To me [name_f]Evie[/name_f] is a bit of a nickname still and we should put [name_f]Eve[/name_f] on her birth certificate and call her [name_f]Evie[/name_f] day to day. Hubby feels like we should just have it as flat out [name_f]Evie[/name_f].
What other options for formal names are out there?
I’m not a fan of [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], but quite like [name_u]Everly[/name_u].
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is going to clash with our surname.
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is my favourite way to get to [name_f]Evie[/name_f]. [name_f]Evangelista[/name_f]/[name_f]Evangelia[/name_f]/[name_f]Evangelica[/name_f]/Evangelixta are all also varations of the name. But, if [name_f]Evie[/name_f] is really all you want, I would put [name_f]Eve[/name_f] or [name_f]Eva[/name_f] on the birth certificate and call her [name_f]Evie[/name_f].
Some other options:
[name_f]Eveline[/name_f]/[name_f]Evelina[/name_f]
Everdeen
[name_f]Evetta[/name_f]/[name_f]Evette[/name_f]
[name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]
[name_f]Geneva[/name_f]
[name_f]Ginevra[/name_f]
My [name_f]Evie[/name_f] is [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] - but we call her [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f] on a regular basis.
I like [name_f]Evie[/name_f] very much as a name on its own, but also like it as a nn. Since my favourite, [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], is out, the others I like are [name_f]Yvette[/name_f], [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. It’s really a personal choice whether you put [name_f]Evie[/name_f] or [name_f]Eve[/name_f] on the birth certificate. What would go best with potential other children’s names?
The only full names for [name_f]Evie[/name_f] I can think of that haven’t been mentioned yet are [name_f]Neve[/name_f]/[name_f]Niamh[/name_f]. Good luck choosing!
I had the exact same problem with my 5 month old, [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]! I’m so glad I didn’t go with [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]. The name fits her perfectly! I think [name_f]Evie[/name_f] can definitely stand alone. It’s gorgeous and if you really love it, you should choose it!
I think [name_f]Evie[/name_f] is fine as a stand alone name (it’s very popular as is where I live). But some more unusual ideas with nn [name_f]Evie[/name_f], [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f], [name_f]Evadne[/name_f], [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f], [name_f]Niamh[/name_f]/[name_f]Neve[/name_f] maybe?
