What do you think of the French name [name]Oriane[/name]? [name]How[/name] would you pronounce it with this spelling?
It is meant to be pronounced “[name]Ori[/name] - ann” (and can also be spelled “[name]Orianne[/name]”), but I’m not sure if that is obvious from the French spelling (which could look like “[name]Ori[/name] - ain”).
The French pronunciation of [name]Oriane[/name] is “ori-AHN”. I think it’s a pretty name and I wouldn’t change the spelling to [name]Orianne[/name]. I like [name]Oriana[/name] too. In medieval legend, [name]Oriana[/name] was the daughter of a king of [name]England[/name] who married the knight Amadis. If you think you’ll have a fair-haired child, this “golden” name would be a subtle way to get to this colour. Of course, she doesn’t have to be blond for you to choose it! The name makes me think of the lovely Beatles song, “[name]Golden[/name] Slumbers”.
This. I’d pronounce it ori-AHN, but I also like [name]Oriana[/name].
Nice way to get to some cute nn’s like [name]Ora[/name], [name]Rian[/name], [name]Ria[/name], [name]Rin[/name], etc. It’s definitely unique but the spelling is very straightfoward.
