I’ve liked [name]Orla[/name] at one stage too, it didn’t get a great reaction. I also really like the spelling [name]Orlaith[/name].
Have you thought of middles? Something naturey and girly I picture with [name]Helena[/name]. Two syllables would have the best flow with your last name (3,2,1)
[name]Helena[/name] by far is the best name out of those.
I can see how [name]Orla[/name] could be a really nice name but for some reason I don’t think people like it very much. It reminds me of what someone would call themselves if they were pretending to be old.
And [name]Louisa[/name] is a bit too old-fashioned for my taste.
i love, love [name]Helena[/name]! what a lovely and delicate name it is! and it also has classic feels. [name]Louisa[/name] is fine. i like it. it’s classic, elegant, and royal name to me. But i don’t like [name]Orla[/name]
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Orla[/name]! I’m not sure if I’d ever be brave enough to use it, but I love it.
[name]Orla[/name] and [name]Imogen[/name] are perfect together!
I like [name]Helena[/name] and [name]Orla[/name]. [name]Helena[/name] and [name]Imogen[/name] are both three syllables. But [name]Imogen[/name] and [name]Orla[/name] seem better matched popularity-wise. [name]Helena[/name] is definitely more common (where I live anyway.) [name]Helena[/name] is the more iconic, regal name. It commands respect. [name]Orla[/name] has mystery, a kind of animal slinkiness, simplicity and the beautiful RL-sound. Difficult decision. [name]Louisa[/name] doesn’t stand a chance imo.
Thanks so much everyone! This is so helpful! It’s so hard to have perspective. I really liked [name]Helena[/name] but worried that others wouldn’t, so I’m glad to see that people do. I had suspicions that my affection for [name]Orla[/name] wasn’t shared universally, and there are a few other issues with that name for me anyway. I’ve been wanting to finally decide on a name, and I think you guys did it for me! [name]Helena[/name] it is!
