Orlando Leon (Land of the glory of the lions, home of the glory of the lions, symbol of courage, egoism and majesty)
Miro Adelchi (Noble spear of peace, noble spear of the world. The spear is a symbol of magic, power, and invincibility, even imperial).
Leon: LEH-on
Adelchi: ah-DEL-key
All names follow Italian pronounciations since I live there
What combo do you prefer the most? Why?
Orlando was the main character of Orlando Furioso by Ludovico Ariosto, a Renaissance epic of Italian literature in which are involved mages, a princess from the Far East, knights, travels and other mystic things.
Leon was the “international” adopted name of Lev Tolstoy.
Adelchi is the main character of a opera play.
As a first name, I would prefer [name_m]Miro[/name_m] to [name_m]Orlando[/name_m]. However, I prefer [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] [name_u]Leon[/name_u] as a combo to [name_m]Miro[/name_m] Adelchi. [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] [name_u]Leon[/name_u] is regal and strong, and has great associations (with literature!).
[name_m]Orlando[/name_m] [name_u]Leon[/name_u] is glorious! Magical, powerful and cool - I like the grandeur of [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] and grounded feel of [name_u]Leon[/name_u]
I prefer [name_m]Miro[/name_m] and Adelchi over [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] and [name_u]Leon[/name_u], but [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] [name_u]Leon[/name_u] is such a perfectly harmonious combo that I think it would have to be my choice.
I like both. I know boys with both names and they have helped their names grow on me a lot!
I enjoy Orlando’s style and grandeur, but as a place name it sounds grounded as well. I really like [name_u]Leon[/name_u], too, for its timelessness and international flavour - so as a combo [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] [name_u]Leon[/name_u] works really nicely.
[name_m]Miro[/name_m] is short, sweet and snappy. I like Slavic names in general so I appreciate its origins. I think it flows well with Adelchi as the middle name. Adelchi is a new one for me and I like it!
