Hello all! Not pregnant, just updating my baby name list
Right now my top two names for boys are Oscar and Peter. With middle names, they’d probably be Oscar Alexander and Peter Sebastian.
Which name is your favourite? Any negative connotations with them? What are your first thoughts when you hear the names? Do you think they could work as siblings?
[name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] for me! I love [name_m]Peter[/name_m] and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] almost equally (love [name_m]Peter[/name_m] a little more) but I don’t love the repeated R’s for [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. Otherwise, they’re perfectly classic, charming, timeless names! [name_m]Peter[/name_m] was my first favorite boys name and he still brings me so much joy to see.
[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] ideas! [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is my favourite - warm, charming and friendly. I think of literature, history, and outdoorsy-woodsy imagery.
[name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] is nice too - sleek, classic and unexpected. I think they’d work as sibs.
I like [name_m]Peter[/name_m] in theory, but the nicknames (Pete & [name_m]Petey[/name_m] & Perry) feel rather dated to me and just not nearly as cute as [name_m]Oz[/name_m] & [name_m]Ozzie[/name_m] for [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]! They definitely work as siblings though.
I love both! In the end I voted for [name_m]Peter[/name_m], though. I have known a couple, both very nice men. [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] is more popular in the UK than [name_m]Peter[/name_m], so that also influenced my choice.
I prefer [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], but [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is lovely too. [name_f]My[/name_f] nephew is [name_m]Peter[/name_m], and no one has ever called him anything but [name_m]Peter[/name_m].
When I first saw your question, I thought of how it would be likely in Norwegian (my family is Norwegian): Peter-Oscar/Per-Oskar.
