Im very interested in ancient egyptian history but it was my husband who suggested this name. We say it like oz-iris (we’re in england if that makes any difference) but while watching an Egyptian program yesterday the man on it pronounced it oz-zeer-ris with a gentle rolling of the r on the “ris” part. The man was Egyptian so im guessing this is the correct way to pronounce it?? If you were to use the name which pronounciation would you use?
I’d intuitively say it more like you, oh-SIE-ris!
perhaps since [name_m]Osiris[/name_m] is the Latinate translation of the Greek form, (which is taken from the Egyptian wsjr - from what I can find), the pronunciation has begun to vary as the name has travelled? In Greek, I’m pretty sure the the second syllable would be pronounced with that softer zeer sound?
Either way, from what I can find, most [name_f]English[/name_f] pronunciations list it with the strong ‘EYE’ sound in the middle

In American [name_f]English[/name_f], this will be said as “O-sigh-russ” likely. Not that that ought factor into your decision at all, just something to know.
I would pronounce it (I’m American) O-sigh-russ, but out of the two you have suggested, I would go with Oz-iris. Not saying any of this should factor in on your decision, just thought I would mention it. I to have always loved Ancient Egyptian history, as well as Greek and [name_m]Roman[/name_m]. I had never considered using names from my interests. I think [name_m]Osiris[/name_m] would be a cool name for a baby boy. And it has a bit of a masculine feel, so that will be perfect as he grows older. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] you come up with a decision!
Fellow [name_f]England[/name_f] berry here & I pronounce it oh-SIE-ris. I really like the name, it’s slowly taking over [name_m]Orion[/name_m] for me 
I’d intuitively think to pronounce it like you did, however there’s something about the Egyptian pronouncing that’s so enchanting.
[name_m]Osiris[/name_m] is my absolute favorite boy name, has been since I was 12, I love seeing it get some love. In [name_f]English[/name_f] I pronounce it oh-SYE-riss, in my second language Spanish I pronounce it oh-SEE-dee. I’ve never even thought about pronouncing it oz-iris before, if I’m being completely honest I don’t really like it, I love Ozzie/Ozzy as a nn though
my sister loves Egyptian mythology and is taking a class on it, so I’ve had to hear a lot about this name 
I would pronounce it oh-sie-ris, and I think that’s how my sis pronounced it as well.
Pronuciation and dialect will be diffrent in its country of origin. Exp: the name Aislyn comes to mind. Here in the US and possibly other western countries, people pronounce it Ays-lyn, while in its country of origin, they would pronouce it Ash-lyn. I wouldnt worry about that unless you were living in Egypt.
On a side note, although Osiris is a cool sounding name, however, Egypt deities are very heavily laced in the occult. (Look into Alister Crowley) For me personally, I would stay way from any Egyptian deity names. However, people are a lot more free in naming their child. I saw a name list a child named, Lucifer. Lol! If it feels right for you, then do it. Its cool name if you dont overthink everything like I do. 
But just food for thought.
