[name_m]Oskar[/name_m] and [name_m]Nils[/name_m] are our final two for our second son and it’s difficult to choose. We have Scandinavian origins…which one is better in your opinion?
Thanks
I prefer [name_m]Oskar[/name_m].
I think [name_m]Oskar[/name_m] would be my choice!
[name_f]My[/name_f] vote goes to [name_m]Oskar[/name_m]!
I love [name_m]Nils[/name_m]! For my first kiddo, we were considering the name [name_u]Nelson[/name_u] nn [name_m]Nels[/name_m] as a tribute to our Scandinavian roots. [name_m]Nils[/name_m] is very similar to that and I love it!
I absolutely love [name_m]Nils[/name_m]! I would totally use it if it would get pronounced correctly in the US. [name_m]Oskar[/name_m] has a harsher sound imo, and I’m just a bit tired of it at this point.
Tough choice!
[name_m]Oskar[/name_m] feels more international, more familiar, slightly cosier.
[name_m]Nils[/name_m] is more distinctively Scandinavian, maybe less familiar in some places, but its sleek and rugged too.
I think [name_m]Oskar[/name_m] is the ‘safer’ choice (and a lovely, solid one too), whereas [name_m]Nils[/name_m] has a bit more spike?
[name_m]Oskar[/name_m]!
definitely [name_m]Oskar[/name_m]!
[name_m]Oskar[/name_m]
I really like both. I’d probably choose [name_m]Oskar[/name_m] for its ease in an English-speaking context, but I’d find [name_m]Nils[/name_m] to be the more interesting choice.
[name_m]Oskar[/name_m] Dirlewanger was a [name_m]German[/name_m] military officer who served as the founder and commander of the infamous Nazi SS penal unit Dirlewanger during World War II. His name is closely linked to some of the worst crimes of the war. I seriosuly wouldn’t use the name [name_m]Oskar[/name_m] because of this or at least spell it [name_m]Oscar[/name_m].
