[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] works better with [name_u]Noah[/name_u] and [name_f]Effie[/name_f], and is a lovely name in itself. :grinning:
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] seems timeless, whereas [name_m]Otis[/name_m] feels more modern, and tied to a character on a recent show.
I’d recommend going with [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], and congratulations on your baby!

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite from the two is [name_m]Otis[/name_m] :crescent_moon:

[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] is lovely but feels rather predictable (at playgroup yesterday there were 3 Oscars in a toddler group of 10 children) so for me in comparison to [name_m]Otis[/name_m] it’s a little lacklustre. Whereas [name_m]Otis[/name_m] is fun, spunky, has a sweet vintage vibe I think paired with [name_u]Noah[/name_u] & [name_f]Effie[/name_f] is incredibly fun. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Otis[/name_m]!

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps and congratulations!

Thank everyone! Keep em coming, very helpful to hear what people think of with each name :blue_heart:

[name_m]Otis[/name_m] is very tied to being a pet’s name for me (Milo and [name_m]Otis[/name_m] - although I’m not sure if that’s a relevant reference nowadays) and also just heavily reminds me of oats. I much prefer the versatile and handsome [name_m]Oscar[/name_m].

I think [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] sounds a smidge better with your other kids’ names, but [name_m]Otis[/name_m] sounds a little better with your last name. Personally, I’d choose [name_m]Oscar[/name_m].

I’m in the Midwest USA and know one young [name_m]Otis[/name_m] and no Oscars.

Otis!!! A little clunky cute, a little studious, but also fun and strong-willed. But you can’t go wrong with the earthy, rugged-yet-poetic [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] either

I was excited to see [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] as it’s a name I’ve fallen in love with recently, but I think [name_m]Otis[/name_m] works better with your other children’s names :relaxed:

[name_f]My[/name_f] opinion is based on personal experiences with both names.

[name_m]Otis[/name_m] was a dear uncle who passed. He was everything a man should be, and so I’m partial to that name.

[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] is my best friends ex husband who was an abusive serial cheater.

If I try to separate the people from the names…I still like [name_m]Otis[/name_m] better. It’s a bit more gentle and cozy sounding.

how sweet :two_hearts:

congratulations!

Congrats! Couldn’t have gone wrong with either of these lovely names! For me, [name_m]Otis[/name_m] would be my favorite and love the bear tie to your dad!

It was [name_m]Otis[/name_m] for me…. Congrats!
