[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries, it’s me again. Now I’m even closer to finding the elusive #10 for my girls list…I just can’t decide between [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] or [name_f]Isolde[/name_f]? Which do you prefer? What do you envision when you hear each name? Which one do you think fits in better with my other 19 names?

I am a big [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] fan, so I am easily swayed her way, however, I think that with all of your other names, [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] might fit in better as a first name, with [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] held onto for use in the middle ([name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] [name_f]Isolde[/name_f], albeit very Arthurian, would be lovely).
I prefer [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] to [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f], but I like both more than [name_f]Isolde[/name_f]. I agree with the other poster that [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] works better as a middle with your list, but overall they both give off a vibe of an ideal past that your list has.
As far as my comment about middles, I like the sound of [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] & [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] [name_f]Isolde[/name_f].
I too prefer [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] to [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f], but I vastly prefer both over [name_f]Isolde[/name_f]. I’m not a fan and can’t get over the “Is Old” sound.
I think [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] fits better with the overall eccentric British style you have going. [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] has more of a mythological air about it for me, so despite [name_f]Antigone[/name_f], [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] and [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m], it feels like less of a match than [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] more though, if it matters ^^
I prefer [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] to [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]. I find the latter rather confusing. Here’s what I think of your other names.
[name_f]Antigone[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f] - I dislike [name_f]Antigone[/name_f]. Although I studied the play and am absolutely in love with it, the name literally means Anti-birth. Not a good choice!
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Isla[/name_f] - I find [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] ugly, sorry! [name_f]Isla[/name_f] is gorgeous though
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] - oh I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]! Its one of my favourites at the moment [name_f]Cora[/name_f] is a sweet nickname
[name_f]Drusilla[/name_f] - This makes me think of Cruella for some reason - or any other evil character!
[name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] - Dislike it. Its like a mix of my two most hated names, [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f].
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] - I knew a [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] so I only really have bad associations.
[name_f]Orla[/name_f] - it looks like [name_m]Oral[/name_m] to me.
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] - I like it. Its unique, quirky, but becoming familiar.
[name_f]Sibyl[/name_f] - too outdated for me.
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] - I like [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]! Apparently it has bad associations but I dont know what they are, so I doubt lots of other people would too.
[name_m]Benedict[/name_m] - Quite like it. A nicer way to get to [name_m]Ben[/name_m], rather than [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]
[name_m]Casimir[/name_m] - its alright, not my favourite
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m] - I like [name_m]Edmund[/name_m]!
[name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] - Dislike [name_m]Felix[/name_m]. Its too posh and snobby, plus I had a (female) cat with this name. I love [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] though.
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] - I like [name_m]Henry[/name_m]…the second name just looks like Poison.
[name_m]Herbert[/name_m] - very outdated!
[name_m]Killian[/name_m] - Its not bad but I dont like the Kill part of it
[name_m]Rudyard[/name_m] - dislike it sorry.
[name_m]Theon[/name_m] - Its not terrible, it could grow on me!
Your style is very different to mine, but I enjoyed writing these. You do have some lovely choices in there!
I definitely think [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] fits better with your other names. [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] seems too juvenile compared with your other names.
[name_f]Isolde[/name_f] gets my vote. I think it goes better with your other favorites than [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]. I also like the fact that all your female favorites would have a different first initial.
I think I’d have to say [name_f]Isolde[/name_f]. There’s something beautiful but dark and tragic about it that I really like, and I think it goes very well with the other names on your list. [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]'s nice enough, but I don’t think it fits as well, and I just like [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] more haha :).
[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]. I personally prefer the spunky [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f], but [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] seems sweetly strong and different whilst still giving off a friendly, approachable vibe.
