Ouch, did your belly hurt?

I am 23 weeks with twins and my skin is starting to get tighter and tighter…

Did any of you feel pain just before you got stretch marks? Or should pain be a red flag??

The pain is a weird tender feeling, but just on the surface. I had an ultrasound a few days ago and the babes were fine, but I can’t get comfortable at all with my tummy hurting this way!!!

I am sorry for you experiencing, I am afraid it’s not normal. I got stretch marks when I was a teen and it didn’t hurt at all. I don’t know if it is the same way during twin pregnancy but I advice you to contact your doctor or maybe dermatologist.

Mine itched, but didn’t really hurt. I imagine it could be normal with a twin pregnancy though, since you’re stretching out much faster with twice as much baby in there, but it’s worth mentioning to your doctor.

I wasn’t pregnant with twins, but my belly was very very itchy as the skin stretched. Moisturizing cream helped for that. I was never really in pain though. [name]Do[/name] you have a doctor or midwife you can ask? That would ease your mind more than anything, probably.

It sounds like you are getting some stretch marks. I felt this way at around 30 weeks of my first singleton pregnancy. It makes sense that it would happen sooner with twins. As the skin stretched it also got tender and warm to the touch. There are lotions and oils out there to help/prevent but nothing really helped me. It just got worse and worse until birth. I didn’t even gain any weight for the rest of my pregnancy and I still got a ton of stretch marks. I’m sorry I’m not much help, hopefully someone else will have better advice. I haven’t gotten any more in my subsequent pregnancies (despite or maybe because of being heavier). I will say that 5 years later they are very light and not a big deal.

Thanks ladies! Unfortunately I live in a pretty small city so seeing my doctor isn’t an option for now, and I don’t feel like it is worth a trip to the ER. I’m thinking that it could be from the itching, I could be scratching too hard. Time to really commit to the belly butter!!

My savior was burts bees mama bee belly balm. Have you tried a belly support yet I use on every time and it really helps with the discomfort as your ligament muscles in your tummy and back dont have to hold all the weight of course water water water is so good for your skin and muscles. Coconut water is my new favorite thing. Sorry this is a little jumbled im
