After much deliberation, my husband and I have come to a decision on the name of our son. We’ve chosen [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Scott[/name_m]. It is a name we both found a mutual love for, and we think that little [name_u]Theo[/name_u] will fit nicely with his older siblings. We’re still searching for a name for his twin sister though! Our list has only gotten longer, and I’m getting anxious that we still haven’t at least narrowed down the list! Could you all let me know which names you like and don’t like, and your reasoning? And if you have any name suggestions, feel free to share! Thanks!
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] nn. [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
I would love to see [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] as twins!
[name_u]Theo[/name_u] and [name_f]Inga[/name_f]? Perfection!
I also love [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] and think that it fits in great with your other children’s names!
Either of those two get my vote, but you have lots of nice names on your list- so I can’t see you going wrong!
I adore [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Scott[/name_m]! I’d love to know your other children’s names to better get a feel for your overall taste, but just going off of [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Scott[/name_m], I would say the best choices would be…
These names are all feminine, gorgeous and sophisticated. They’re also timeless and will age well and not trendy or modern. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] also exudes these qualities (except the feminine one, of course) which is why one of these would fit so nicely with him.
My favourites on your list are [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] and [name_f]Livia[/name_f] and I think they’d all work really well with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]!
I think my favourite though, is [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], because [name_u]Theo[/name_u] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]/[name_f]Elle[/name_f]? [name_f]Love[/name_f] it.
From your list, I love [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] the most. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Scott[/name_m] and Cecila [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] sounds perfect to me.
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] nn. [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] - trouble with spelling and pronounciation her whole life, skip it -[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] / [name_f]Celia[/name_f] / [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] - all lovely
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] (might just use as a middle) - seems overused now, like a filler name -[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] nn. Lissy - lovely, needs a comeback
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] nn. [name_f]Immy[/name_f] - trendy
[name_f]Livia[/name_f] - use [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] to give the child options, a grown woman may not want to always be know as a ‘nickname’
[name_f]Camille[/name_f] - ok, reminds me of the Bristish adulteress
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] nn. [name_f]Mia[/name_f] - classic, but just ok -[name_f]Colette[/name_f] - lovely, needs a comeback
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] nn. [name_u]Lexie[/name_u] - classic but overdone, she’ll know a gazillion [name_u]Alex[/name_u]-variations
I love [name_u]Theo[/name_u] and [name_f]Camille[/name_f]. [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] are fantastic names too but I don’t like them as much in combination with [name_u]Theo[/name_u]. Good luck!
With the caveat that some of these might work better with your siblings, here are some thoughts.
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] nn. [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] - lovely name, but I would let it go. Too unusual next to [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], hard to spell. Might work as a middle.
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] / [name_f]Celia[/name_f] / [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] - any would be wonderful with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]! Which you pick might depend on middle and/or siblings.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] (might just use as a middle) - [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is great but sure, if you’re already lukewarm on it let it go.
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] nn. Lissy - [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] would be great with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]! Nice name.
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] nn. [name_f]Immy[/name_f] - I adore [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] but also pretty unusual next to [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. Probably worth letting go/middle spot.
[name_f]Livia[/name_f] - [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] but her whole life people will say [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]? [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]? At least that’s my prediction. I’d hold off, middle maybe.
[name_f]Camille[/name_f] - Unexpected with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], but it would work. Not my personal favorite from the list FWIW but I think it’s a fine name.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] nn. [name_f]Mia[/name_f] - lovely with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].
[name_f]Colette[/name_f] - A little too fun and French for my taste next to [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. Maybe as a middle. If you’re going French, [name_f]Camille[/name_f] is the better choice.
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] nn. [name_u]Lexie[/name_u] - very nice with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. I am personally not crazy about [name_u]Lexie[/name_u], although oddly I like it better with [name_u]Theo[/name_u] : D. [name_u]Theo[/name_u] and [name_u]Lexie[/name_u], cute, [name_u]Theo[/name_u] and [name_u]Lex[/name_u] or [name_u]Theo[/name_u] and [name_f]Lexa[/name_f] I’d like even more!
[name_f]Wren[/name_f] - very cute name, too short and modern with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. Could be good as a middle.
[name_f]Greer[/name_f] - too modern and short and unisex next to [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. Middle possible.
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f] - feels a little Irish and dated to me next to [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. I do still like it. Middle.
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] - although it’s a name with history, its recent popularity spike makes it feel more modern. It shares [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]'s Greek roots though. Would not be my top pick for you, but it’s a nice name and could work. Middle?
[name_u]Emory[/name_u] nn. [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] - see [name_f]Greer[/name_f]. Especially with a brother [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], everyone would hear [name_f]Emily[/name_f].
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] - I find it kind of too Scandinavian and dated next to [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] (similar to [name_f]Bridget[/name_f]), though I do like the name.
I like [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], [name_f]Camille[/name_f], and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] the best.
Might I suggest [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]? [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] are perfection! And you could get the cute nickname [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. I prefer it to [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] as the long form.
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is a majestic name so his sister needs the same distinction. These names on your list share that quality. My three top choices are: [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] (same Greek origin and worldly elegance as [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]); [name_f]Alice[/name_f] (l love the meaning and the way it sounds and looks with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]) and [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] (vintage charm like [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]).
My favorites are [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_f]Livia[/name_f], [name_f]Camille[/name_f], [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], and [name_f]Bridget[/name_f].
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] - [name_u]Theo[/name_u] and [name_f]Cece[/name_f]
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] - [name_u]Theo[/name_u] and Lissy
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Livia[/name_f] - [name_u]Theo[/name_u] and Livi
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Camille[/name_f] - [name_u]Theo[/name_u] and [name_f]Cami[/name_f]
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] - [name_u]Theo[/name_u] and [name_f]Mia[/name_f]
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] - [name_u]Theo[/name_u] and [name_f]Bee[/name_f]
(I just filled in some cute nicknames to go with theo)
@orphanedhanyou: [name_f]Livia[/name_f] is actually not just a nickname, but a Latin name meaning crown that has rich history
I adore [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]! Excellent choice
I love a number of your names, my favorites are [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]. [name_f]Livia[/name_f] would also sound wonderful with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].
My favorite combinations are [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Wren[/name_f] and [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. Other combos:
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] nn. [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] - Cute and unexpected
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]/ [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] Not a huge fan of [name_f]Celia[/name_f], its okay, but I much prefer [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] or [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] - Sounds awesome with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] (might just use as a middle) - [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is soooo cute!
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] nn. Lissy- Again, unexpected but beautiful
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] nn. [name_f]Mia[/name_f] - Not my favorite with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] (out of your list), but awesome no the less
