Our first girl after three boys! Help me name her

We have three sons and now have a daughter on the way. I need some help!

My sons names are:

[name_m]Jacob[/name_m] [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], first name is a family name and he goes by [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] not [name_m]Jake[/name_m]. But I like he has the nick name if he decides he wants it later.

[name_m]Ramsay[/name_m] [name_m]Beckett[/name_m], named after a childhood friend and liked it had a surname feel. [name_u]Nick[/name_u] name [name_m]Ram[/name_m]. Different starting and ending sound for both first name and [name_u]Nick[/name_u] name to rest of siblings. Repeating A sound.

[name_u]Ashton[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m], again I liked it has a last name feel, endead in a different letter n, and gave a one syllable nickname [name_u]Ash[/name_u], with the repeating A sound like his brothers.

Now I see I have created a really difficult pattern to find something to fit a daughter, our last name is One syllable starting with W.

So far I see the common themes are,
two syllable first and middle names,
Different First initial and end sound
middle name needs to start with a B name to balance out the H B H B pattern.
First name needs to shorten to a one syllable nick name with a A in the name somewhere

I am totally flexible on any of these but would like an original first letter and a B middle name. A lot of the names we like are three syllables.

We have a top 5 we both love but am not sure which one sounds the best with our last name, and am open to suggestions that would fit better with our other kids names.

First Name contenders so far:

  1. [name_f]Cambria[/name_f], Nickname [name_u]Cam[/name_u] or [name_f]Bria[/name_f]
  2. [name_f]Coraline[/name_f], NN [name_f]Cora[/name_f]
  3. [name_f]Sia[/name_f], so we’re thinking doing [name_f]Celia[/name_f] with nickname always [name_f]Sia[/name_f]
  4. [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], not sure on nickname and this is the longest at 4 syllables not sure if it fits in
  5. [name_f]Mira[/name_f], nick name ‘M’

For middle names we have,

  1. [name_f]Braelyn[/name_f]
  2. [name_f]Briar[/name_f]
    3.[name_f]Brielle[/name_f]
  3. [name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f] although the w sound of our last name kind of isn’t the best with this one
  4. [name_f]Birdie[/name_f], although my husband is not too sure about this, I love it an could totally convince him.

Okay so any name combo help, or other suggestions that will work better are very welcome.
Thank you to anyone who read the whole thing. I know it was a really long post.

I like [name_f]Mira[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] the best or [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f].

Of what you listed:
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f] and [name_f]Celia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sia[/name_f] both sound straight out of a fairytale with [name_f]Briar[/name_f]. I love it. I agree that [name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f] clashes with your surname, too (as much as it breaks my heart). The other middles aren’t as much my taste, but I do quite like [name_f]Cambria[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f].

Some first name suggestions:
[name_f]Clarissa[/name_f] or [name_f]Clara[/name_f] (nickname could be [name_u]Clare[/name_u] or [name_f]Clary[/name_f])
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] (I figure if you’ve considered [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] you’ve probably vetoed [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], but this one is similar to both in nice ways)
[name_f]Davina[/name_f] (could be Vee or [name_f]Dee[/name_f] or even [name_m]Davy[/name_m]; means “little deer” which would also be cute to draw from)
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] (could be [name_f]Tillie[/name_f] or [name_u]Mattie[/name_u]; I’ve even seen [name_f]Tess[/name_f] come from [name_f]Matilda[/name_f])
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] (could be [name_f]Liv[/name_f] or [name_f]Olive[/name_f] or [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] or [name_f]Livvie[/name_f])
[name_u]Piper[/name_u] (more limited in nicknames, but for some reason I just really love it with your boys’ names)
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] (could be [name_f]Lettie[/name_f] or [name_f]Vi[/name_f])
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] (just gonna ditto my [name_u]Piper[/name_u] commentary here)

Some middle name suggestions:
[name_f]Basilie[/name_f] (maybe a little out there but I think it’s adorable)
[name_u]Blake[/name_u] or…
[name_u]Brennan[/name_u] (could be nice to use a surname name to subtly match several of your boys’ names)
[name_f]Briony[/name_f] or [name_f]Bryony[/name_f]
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Celia[/name_f] and [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] best with your sons’ names. (I really like [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f], but I don’t think it fits in all that well with your sons’ names.)
[name_f]Celia[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] is beautiful, as is [name_f]Celia[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]. Those two have my vote.

Some other middle suggestions:
[name_u]Bailey[/name_u]
[name_f]Brianna[/name_f]/[name_f]Brianne[/name_f]
[name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Becca[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]/[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]/[name_f]Beatriz[/name_f]

[name_f]Coraline[/name_f] followed by [name_f]Mira[/name_f] are my favorite of your firsts.

[name_f]Coraline[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]
[name_f]Mira[/name_f] [name_f]Brielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Mira[/name_f] [name_f]Briony[/name_f]

Thank you I have added those combos to the list. They both sound wonderful.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply, I especially love your suggestions of [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_u]Piper[/name_u]. Unfortunately [name_u]Piper[/name_u] has been used by a friend for her son. But I do love the r ending.

Thank you for your reply, you have confirmed that [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is as I feared too long of a name. I think it will have to be taken out of the running because I agree it doesn’t fit in with my boys names. I love your middle name suggestion [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f].

Thank you, from these comments I can see [name_f]Celia[/name_f], [name_f]Mira[/name_f] and [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] are the front runners to go with my kids names. ( out of the names From my list.) Thank you for helping me narrow it down this is so helpful. I also love seeing the combos you came up with.

Here are my thoughts:

  1. [name_f]Cambria[/name_f], Nickname [name_u]Cam[/name_u] or [name_f]Bria[/name_f]. I really love this name. I think it flows nicely with your other children and the nicknames are sweet. The issue is I don’t think any of your current middles would flow well with it. For instance, if she goes by [name_f]Bria[/name_f], you wouldn’t want her name to be [name_f]Bria[/name_f] [name_f]Brielle[/name_f]. My suggestions would be: [name_f]Cambria[/name_f] [name_u]Bryn[/name_u], [name_f]Cambria[/name_f] [name_f]Beverly[/name_f]

  2. [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] NN [name_f]Cora[/name_f]. Again, beautiful name which is slightly more common. [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] [name_f]Braelyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] flow nicely. Others: [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] [name_u]Blaire[/name_u]

  3. [name_f]Sia[/name_f], so we’re thinking doing [name_f]Celia[/name_f] with nickname always [name_f]Sia[/name_f]. This is not my favorite, mainly due to the popstar [name_f]Sia[/name_f]. That’s an immediate association for me. [name_f]Celia[/name_f] [name_f]Braelyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Celia[/name_f] [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] would be nice. Others: [name_f]Celia[/name_f] [name_f]Bridget[/name_f], [name_f]Celia[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], [name_f]Celia[/name_f] [name_u]Brook[/name_u]

  4. [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], not sure on nickname and this is the longest at 4 syllables not sure if it fits in. I don’t think this fits well with your other names.

  5. [name_f]Mira[/name_f], nick name ‘M’. [name_f]Mira[/name_f] is a sweet name! [name_f]Mira[/name_f] [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] is my favorite out of your middle names. Others: [name_f]Mira[/name_f] [name_u]Bailey[/name_u], [name_f]Mira[/name_f] [name_u]Blaine[/name_u]

For your middle names, are you specifically wanting to start the middle name with a B? I don’t love [name_f]Birdie[/name_f], I am with your husband on that one. Others:
[name_u]Bryn[/name_u]
[name_f]Beverly[/name_f]
[name_u]Bailey[/name_u]
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f]
[name_f]Becca[/name_f]
[name_f]Bethany[/name_f]
[name_f]Bette[/name_f]
[name_u]Blaire[/name_u]
[name_u]Blaine[/name_u]
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f]
[name_u]Brooke[/name_u]
[name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] (& [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] are NY names)

From your list I like [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] best, also for mn I like [name_f]Braelyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Brielle[/name_f].

Some suggestions for fn:

[name_f]Odessa[/name_f] (maybe an alternative for [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f])
[name_f]Aria[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Ari[/name_u])
[name_f]Scarlet[/name_f]/ [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] (nn Scar)
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilah[/name_f]/[name_f]Lyla[/name_f]

[name_f]Vienna[/name_f] (nn Vie)
[name_f]Mavis[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Mave[/name_f]/[name_f]Maeve[/name_f])

Suggestions for mn:
[name_u]Brinley[/name_u]
Bexley
[name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] (longer than the 2 syllables)
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u]
[name_f]Bianca[/name_f]
Brendalin
Agree with pp:
[name_u]Bailey[/name_u]
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f]
[name_f]Bethany[/name_f]

I’m loving the possible combination of [name_f]Cambria[/name_f] [name_f]Brielle[/name_f]

My favorites for her middle name are [name_f]Braelyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Brielle[/name_f]. [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] is actually one of my favorite names period.

What do you think of Brookelle for a middle name? You can try swapping [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] out for Brookelle with one of the names and see how it sounds to you

Hmm…

[name_m]Jacob[/name_m] [name_u]Hudson[/name_u]
[name_m]Ramsey[/name_m] [name_m]Beckett[/name_m]
[name_u]Ashton[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]

And…

Anaiyah [name_f]Brielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Arielle[/name_f] [name_f]Braelyn[/name_f]
Emaelyn [name_f]Brielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Braelyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Michelle[/name_f] [name_f]Braelyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Makaela[/name_f] [name_f]Brielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f] [name_f]Braelyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Brielle[/name_f]

I know you said you’d prefer not to repeat the first initial, I just thought it couldn’t hurt to suggest it. If anything, I hope you’ll be inspired to come up with even more names!

Let me know what you like or don’t like and then I’ll try to see what else I can come up with!

[name_f]Mira[/name_f] is definitely my favorite from your list. I like [name_f]Mira[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]. [name_f]Mira[/name_f] [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] flows nicely objectively, I’m not the biggest fan of [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] though. It’s a shame you can’t use [name_u]Piper[/name_u] – I love it with your boys’ names :frowning: I also second the suggestion of [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] – love it with your sons’ names and it’s another way to the nn [name_f]Sia[/name_f].

[name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Juno[/name_f]/[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] ([name_f]Gigi[/name_f]/[name_f]Gia[/name_f])
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Kaia[/name_f] ([name_u]Kai[/name_u])
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_f]Sabrina[/name_f]
[name_f]Samara[/name_f] ([name_u]Sam[/name_u])

[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f]
[name_u]Blaise[/name_u]
[name_f]Brenna[/name_f]
[name_f]Brynn[/name_f]
[name_f]Bronte[/name_f]
[name_f]Bria[/name_f]
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f]
[name_u]Brighton[/name_u]
[name_f]Bianca[/name_f]

[name_f]Mira[/name_f] [name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f]!!!

Thank you for the detailed reply, this has helped a lot. I am now double guessing the nickname [name_f]Sia[/name_f], something to for sure consider. Also love the middle name suggestions, I am going to add [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] and [name_u]Bryn[/name_u] to the list.

I quite like [name_f]Cambria[/name_f] [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] or [name_f]Mira[/name_f] [name_f]Brielle[/name_f]

Suggestions

[name_f]Eliana[/name_f] [name_f]Bree[/name_f]
[name_f]Milla[/name_f] [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Michaela[/name_f] [name_u]Brooke[/name_u]
[name_f]Lauren[/name_f] [name_f]Britney[/name_f]
[name_f]Samantha[/name_f] Bronté
[name_f]Claudia[/name_f] Brynley
[name_f]Layla[/name_f] [name_f]Bridget[/name_f]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Brielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Tahlia[/name_f]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_f]Brielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Marina[/name_f]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u]

Thank you for your help. I am leaning towards going with [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] for the MN as my dads name is [name_m]Brian[/name_m] and I think it is a nice subtle way of honouring him.

I really love the suggestions of [name_f]Margot[/name_f], and [name_f]Vienna[/name_f].

I love this name as well, the only hesitation is my name starts with a K and wonder if we call her [name_f]Camie[/name_f] or [name_u]Cam[/name_u] our names will be too similar sounding.
