I absolutely adore [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f]. You pick a very lovely name. Congrats!
Gorgeous name and wonderful story! Congratulations!
Ooh, can I join your club?? Haha, I loved reading your name story and can completely relate to the need to super-analyze everything, even checking to see how future sibling names can fit in with a name for a first born. Congratulations on your baby girl and her lovely name!
That is such a great story as to how you arrived at your daughter’s gorgeous name! I really love it! My sincerest congratulations.
Congrats! I’m always thrilled to see someone using the name [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]. It’s gorgeous
I love how you arrived at the name and the strong connection you feel with it! Congratulations and best wishes!
Congratulations! It’s a beautiful name and I love the story. All the best to you and your baby girl.
OH, my goodness - Loved this!!! I think I need to join your club too! Let me first say that I was right there with you on all your struggles and decisions choosing [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f], and in the end, I’m so glad you did! First impressions or gut feelings are usually always right.
Sometimes I get on Nameberry, and although no one has ever made me feel this way, I think that other Berries get tired of my never-ending details on name flow/sounds/syllables, nick names, sibsets, etc; so you can imagine how much I thoroughly enjoyed reading about every little thing!
It’s always fascinating to see how personal God is That intersection will be a long-standing reminder of His goodness and purpose for your life and hers!! My [name_m]BIL[/name_m]'s wife was in a car accident 2 months prior her due date and she got all the way to 5 cm that day! It certainly caused great concern; but the doctors successfully stopped the progression of labor until she was full term - their very healthy (and big!) baby boy, [name_u]Logan[/name_u], was delivered last month without any complications
I find it refreshing that you have such a great relationship with your husband, that he had the influence he did, and you were able to decide together to use your parents’ names for the first children… I honestly never understood until recently how much of a woman’s heritage and family history can be lost by not incorporating something of herself within her children’s names.
We aren’t expecting, but I’ve been researching names for our children for the last couple of years. My FIL knows this and although we have a good relationship with him, ever since [name_u]Logan[/name_u] was conceived, he realized that if any of his 3 children were to name their children after family, it would be my husband and I. So he makes sure we know how happy it would make him to have a namesake! He gives his two cents so often that I’ve actually stopped talking about kids with my in-laws. My husband reassures me that his father is always on a mission about something…lol… and this is one thing that will be our decision and ours alone. Whew.
But it’s so true that we (as women) always want to figure everything out (nicknames, etc) and try to look at all the possiblities (sibsets, the use of family names etc) without knowing exactly how many children we will have!! I have to say, I do like Magno! lol - even Magna is cute
Enjoy little [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] and hopefully you’ll still stop by Nameberry every now and again
Congratulations and what a beautiful name story!
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] is gorgeous! My favorite nns for [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] are [name_f]Meg[/name_f], [name_f]Mia[/name_f], [name_f]Lia[/name_f], [name_f]Molly[/name_f]! Those little ones sometimes decide nns for you! It’s very cute that your family has given her a nn too. Thanks for sharing your story!
Gorgeous name! So many options for nicknames! What a wonderful, inspiring story as well. Congrats!!!
Wow beautiful name! I’m sure little [name_f]May[/name_f] does her name justice. I went to college in South [name_f]Carolina[/name_f]… there is nothing on a spring night like the overwhelmingly luscious aroma of [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] blossoms. And [name_f]Irene[/name_f] is the perfect middle name… a complementary sound and family meaning. What more could you ask?!
I really enjoyed reading your story, and I appreciate the way you gave God credit for your safety. Thank you for taking the time to share. Blessings!
Congratulations! I love the name [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]. I also adore the nn [name_f]Nola[/name_f], which I don’t think anyone else has suggested. I think it’s feminine and a gorgeous shortening of a beautiful name
Coming into this I wasn’t convinced about [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], but the more you told your story, the more I loved it! [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] is so pretty! Magno is a great nn! It’s silly, spunky, and affectionate. (I read the whole thing, :P)
I love [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]! We considered it too but went with [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] nn [name_f]Maisy[/name_f] for our 1 year old. Like you, I love a long formal name with tons of nickname options.
