[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Nameberry friends! I am 33 weeks along with what we believe is our 4th baby girl. I have a few favorite names but I could really use your input on a name that goes well with the names of our 3 daughters.
Andelyn [name_f]Dior[/name_f], nn [name_f]Andee[/name_f]
[name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f], nn [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]
[name_f]Josette[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u], nn [name_u]Josie[/name_u]
We like the longer more formal names with a cute nickname. Bonus if it matches our on going βeeβ sound ending.
Some names Iβm considering are
Kyrielle [name_f]Mae[/name_f], nn [name_f]Kiri[/name_f] or [name_u]Kyrie[/name_u]
[name_f]Sybille[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f], nn [name_u]Billie[/name_u] (after my grandma)
[name_f]Mae[/name_f] is a family name but I am 100% open to other names too.
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] β[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] or [name_f]Posey[/name_f]β
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] β[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] or [name_u]Freddy[/name_u]β
I like [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] spelled this way with the nickname Sybi (Sibi, [name_f]Sibbie[/name_f], Sybie)
Another name that would work well with your girls is [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Suki[/name_f] ([name_f]Sukie[/name_f])
I like [name_f]Mae[/name_f] as a middle name. It happens to be the diminutive of [name_f]Mary[/name_f] or [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. Perhaps you might like using one of these, instead.
Congratulations on your fourth. You have a wonderful sibling set already. Iβm pleasantly surprised by Andelyn. Having never come across this name before, it strikes me as a graceful and unusual alternative to [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] or [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u].
Both Kyrielle and [name_f]Sybille[/name_f] seem to be good options if you choose to go with either. They are not too dissimilar to the popularity of your daughtersβ names whilst remaining distinct and both allow each daughter to have their own initial. Kyrielle is not a name Iβve heard of either, but itβs probably on par with Andelyn. It appears that the nickname [name_u]Billie[/name_u] is after your grandma. If I have understood this correctly, I would give [name_f]Sybille[/name_f] bonus points for this beautiful link.
As for alternatives, looking at your current daughtersβ names Iβm picking up a subtle [name_m]French[/name_m] theme. Based on this I would suggest [name_f]Camille[/name_f] β[name_f]Millie[/name_f]β or β[name_f]Cami[/name_f]β, [name_f]Sabine[/name_f] βBeanieβ, [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] β[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]β or β[name_f]Essie[/name_f]β, [name_u]Patrice[/name_u] β[name_f]Trixie[/name_f]β, [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] β[name_f]Gigi[/name_f]β and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] β[name_f]Cece[/name_f]β. I would also suggest [name_f]Esme[/name_f] but then you would need to reconsider the middle name and I think [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is just great. Itβs a lovely family name and fits in perfectly with the sibling set.
With this sibling set I am also reminded of Old Hollywood glamour, perhaps because of the middle names. So Iβll also suggest some vintage names that arenβt overly popular at the moment to fit with your current set. [name_f]Luella[/name_f] β[name_m]Louie[/name_m]β or β[name_f]Lulu[/name_f],β [name_f]Theresa[/name_f] β[name_f]Tessie[/name_f]β, [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] β[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]β, [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] β[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]β or β[name_u]Billie[/name_u]β, [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] β[name_f]Vivi[/name_f]β or β[name_f]Liv[/name_f]β, [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] β[name_f]Milly[/name_f]β or β[name_u]Romy[/name_u]β which reminds me of [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] also β[name_u]Romy[/name_u].β
[name_f]Evanna[/name_f] β[name_f]Evie[/name_f]β also came to mind. All the best with you search.
I had thought of that, but since my second daughterβs name is [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] I though [name_f]Mary[/name_f]/[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] would be too similar. Iβd never heard of [name_f]Sukie[/name_f]! What a cute nickname!
Kachenka, Thank you so much! Your reply made my day. Andelin is actually a family name I came across at a St. [name_m]George[/name_m], [name_u]Utah[/name_u] cemetery. I always liked it, but changed the i to a y in hopes to make it look more first name material. [name_m]Little[/name_m] did I know there would be a trend of Madelyns and Addelyns when I named my daughter Andelyn though. At least her nickname, [name_f]Andee[/name_f], helps her stand apart.
I also love carrying on my grandmotherβs name, [name_u]Billie[/name_u], but my husband didnβt grow up with it and it is too strongly masculine for his preference. Maybe it will grow on him!
I discovered the name Kyrielle in a [name_m]French[/name_m] names book, derived from the term βkyrieβ used for a certain type of poem written for hymns of worship and used in cathedrals. We are religious and I like the idea of our daughterβs name honoring God in that way, especially since my motherβs maiden name is β[name_u]Poet[/name_u]β too. [name_u]Kyrie[/name_u] (βkee-reeβ) seems to be a cute little girl nickname, but I know there is a famous basketball player with the name [name_u]Kyrie[/name_u] but I think he pronounces it differently. Hopefully if we use the name it wonβt have too strong of a connection to the basketball playerβ¦
You are right on the money with your [name_m]French[/name_m] inspired name suggestions! I have added [name_f]Camille[/name_f] to my very exclusive list of name possibilities. I adore [name_f]Cami[/name_f] as a nickname and think it fits perfectly with our other girlβs names. Thank you very much!
[name_m]Just[/name_m] jumping in to say that I like [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] (but prefer this spelling) with the nickname [name_u]Billie[/name_u] so much! I think itβs a cute, spunky nickname (that matches especially well with [name_f]Andee[/name_f] and [name_u]Josie[/name_u]) and the connection to family is so nice!
