Our list beyond Matilda and Lulu

Would love some feedback, especially from Spanish and [name_m]French[/name_m] berries.
Siblings are [name_m]Albert[/name_m] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], middle-aged or old-person names but ones that we really loved.

[name_f]Noemi[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_f]Maria[/name_f]
[name_u]Marion[/name_u]
[name_f]Irene[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f]
[name_f]Celine[/name_f]
[name_f]Camelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elena[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] (H is silent)
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f]

I am a Spanish speaker berrie, so I think I can help! I have to say that I love [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] with siblings [name_m]Albert[/name_m] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]. From your list, I also really like [name_f]Celia[/name_f] (don’t know if you feel it as too close to [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] in English, but if you pronounce it in Spanish, it is not) and [name_f]Irene[/name_f]. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is really pretty too but I feel it as a little bit more modern than [name_m]Albert[/name_m] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f].

My favourites are [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Elena[/name_f] and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]. I wouldn’t use [name_f]Helena[/name_f] if you are wanting the H to be silent because she will forever be correcting people. I also quite like [name_f]Noemi[/name_f].
However I’m really liking [name_f]Matilda[/name_f].

Another [name_m]French[/name_m] speaker but have lived in [name_m]Oz[/name_m] for years now. With [name_m]Albert[/name_m] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]…

[name_f]Noemi[/name_f] -[name_m]Just[/name_m] love [name_f]Noemi[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f] -I think this is a good choice.
[name_f]Maria[/name_f] -I don’t think this fits with the other names. sorry
[name_u]Marion[/name_u] - difference in pronunciation and style, I would leave this out.
[name_f]Irene[/name_f] - similar to above
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] - for me [name_f]Eva[/name_f] is classic and would be fine with [name_m]Albert[/name_m] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] -not a fan sorry.
[name_f]Celine[/name_f] -yes this is a good choice too but its quite popular in some areas.
[name_f]Camelia[/name_f] - I find it too flowery with the other names.
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Elena[/name_f] very much.
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] - As you said [name_f]Helena[/name_f] has an h muet - I am not sure where you will be living .
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] - This not my favorite if pronunciation is going to be a problem
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] - This is a pretty name - I pronounce it [name_u]Lee[/name_u]-oh- nee in Australia.
I am not sure how this would sit with you as its different in other cultures.

Any more opinions?

Well Iam neither [name_m]French[/name_m] nor Spanish but I will give it a try if you dont mind.

  • [name_f]Noemi[/name_f]: for some reason I never really liked [name_f]Noemi[/name_f]/[name_f]Naomi[/name_f], but I definitely prefer [name_f]Noemi[/name_f] over [name_f]Naomi[/name_f]. It sounds nicer and more romantic.
  • [name_f]Celia[/name_f]: I quite like it. Its pretty and dainty, though I personally prefer it as a nn.
  • [name_f]Maria[/name_f]: I know tons of Marias and its variations. It sounds overused to me, though its not bad by any means. With a more unusual middle I think it will be better.
  • [name_u]Marion[/name_u]: [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] name, reminds of the beautiful [name_u]Marion[/name_u] Cotillard.
  • [name_f]Irene[/name_f]: Iam not a fan. It sounds dated to me.
  • [name_f]Eva[/name_f]: GORGEOUS!
  • [name_f]Alma[/name_f]: another lovely choice.
  • [name_f]Celine[/name_f]: Iam not a fan.
  • [name_f]Camelia[/name_f]: Gorgeous!
  • [name_f]Elena[/name_f]: I prefer [name_f]Helena[/name_f], but both are great.
  • [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]: I prefer [name_f]Camelia[/name_f].
  • [name_f]Leonie[/name_f]: very pretty and unexpected.
