Our Little Girl is Here!

Our fourth child and third daughter entered the world about two weeks early on [name_f]May[/name_f] 27! She weighed in at 7 pounds and one ounce and measured 20 inches long. Her older sisters, [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], and older brother, [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m], are over the moon.

Deciding on her name was a very long and tedious process, but we had so much help from everyone here at Nameberry! We went into the hospital with three names and decided that we would name her when we saw her.

The moment I saw her, I just knew what her name was. She definitely wasn’t an [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] “[name_f]Edie[/name_f]” and she for sure wasn’t [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]. Her name is…

[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]!

Her name really just fell into place when we decided on the combination. As we learned more about the names, they ended up honoring more family members than we would have ever imagined!

We loved that [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] contained the name “[name_f]May[/name_f]” in it. [name_f]May[/name_f] is a special month for my husband and I (it’s the month we met) and we found out that [name_f]May[/name_f] can also be a form of the name [name_f]Mary[/name_f], which is my grandmother’s name. Also, I was told that “[name_f]Belle[/name_f]” can be a nickname for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (through [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]). This worked out well because my middle name is [name_f]Lisbet[/name_f] and my mother-in-law’s name is [name_f]Elisabeta[/name_f] so it’s a nice connection to both of us. The meaning “lovable” was another major plus for us.

We chose [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] in honor of my other grandmother, [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], my husband’s great-grandfather, [name_m]Giuseppe[/name_m], and my brother-in-law, whose middle name is [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] sounded like such a strong name to us; it’s the name of an empress and the full name of [name_u]Jo[/name_u] from [name_m]Little[/name_m] Women. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] also keeps up the tradition of each child having a saint’s name either as their first or middle name. She bears the name of the inspiring St. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] Bakhita!

We are so happy with our little [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] J’s name and I cannot thank everyone on this site enough for helping name her and especially for reassuring me about the name [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]! It really is perfect for her!

Beautiful name! Congratulations

Congrats! [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is really beautiful.

Congratulations!! [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is an adorable, vintage-modern cool vibe and she goes well with [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], and [name_f]Frances[/name_f]. [name_f]Frances[/name_f] is lovely as well. I love [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]'s middle name [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] as well.
Wishing you much needed sleep.
