[name]Hi[/name] Everyone,
So excited to announce the birth of our gentle beauty, [name]Naomi[/name] [name]Jean[/name]. She made a very special entrance into this world! Her arrival was last [name]Wednesday[/name], [name]November[/name] 21st, her actual due date. I was told about 5% of babies are actually born on their due date and so we thought that was special in itself but then she topped it with the actual time. Here in Switzerland, her birth is noted as 21/11/12, and the arrival time is 21:11 (9:11pm). The midwives kept telling us that after 35+ years they had never seen a birth with the same date and time before!
Anyway, naming her was a bit stressful. She had no name for 3 days. In Switzerland, you must choose a name before leaving the hospital so naming her after a week or so at home was not an option or believe me I would have taken it! On day 2, we started calling her [name]Ava[/name] and it just didn’t stick. I had this list of choices and we just couldn’t pick. We loved them all. On the morning I was checking out, day 4, we literally had to pick before leaving and my husband said to me “What name brings you the most joy, that you want to just say over and over…?” I thought about it and what came out was “[name]Naomi[/name] [name]Jean[/name]”. In retrospect, it was the name that had always been there. During my entire pregnancy, it was always the first name on the list followed by other combos…I think it just became common to me and somehow I overlooked it because it was just so “right.” We had thought about [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Jean[/name], and [name]Ava[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] and even [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Jean[/name]…I still love all these names and hope to have more girls to name in the future, but [name]Naomi[/name] [name]Jean[/name] was it!
Everyone in the hospital kept telling us how beautiful she is…Its interesting because her name means, pleasant and I’ve also seen [name]Naomi[/name] as meaning gentle beauty. Its so her!!! [name]Jean[/name] is after my Mom too, which brings so much joy to me…We are incredibly close and I think its special to give my first daughter her name. I just wanted to thank everyone for their input and help on name combinations we had. I learned so much during this naming journey…
[name]Merci[/name],
