We need help with a name for our new girl! She arrived on Friday 3/23 on the most beautiful day of the year so far! It was warm and sunny for the first time on the NW [name]Washington[/name] coast since last summer! She was born quickly and in the sunshiny living room of our house with our loved ones nearby! We would like to pick a name that honors the beauty of nature and the sunshine and spring life we felt the day she was born! But also want something we just like (even if it’s not the greatest nature name ever)! Our house was also filled with several bouquets of beautiful Daffodils that were opening as she was born (though we don’t want to name her [name]Daffodil[/name])
Looking for help thinking of nature names, sunshine names, flower names, forest names, ocean names, bird names, BUT ALSO just sweet girl names that are in the vein of the other names we like (even if they have nothing to do with nature). We also love books and movies and interesting associations that way Our good friends are using [name]Harper[/name]…bummer!
Here are ideas so far (our list as final as we can get it…but looking to add more if they sound right!):
I’d also like to specifically ask what folks think of names [name]Winona[/name] and [name]Camellia[/name]. The others on my list I know are rather well-loved…but haven’t heard much commentary on these two. Thank you!!
[name]Camellia[/name] is beautiful and has potential for all kinds of good nicknames! I like [name]Camellia[/name] [name]Mae[/name] and [name]Camellia[/name] [name]Wren[/name] best.
I like [name]Camellia[/name], I probably prefer [name]Camila[/name] but this whole family of names is just gorgeous. [name]Winona[/name] I very heavily associate with [name]Winona[/name] [name]Ryder[/name], but that should fade…it’s still a very pretty name and [name]Winnie[/name] is sweet, love the Wonder Years association even.
[name]Sun[/name] names…you could go super obvious and do [name]Camellia[/name] [name]Soleil[/name]
[name]Lucia[/name] also means light and would be super pretty/meaningful as a middle.
[name]Winona[/name] and [name]Camellia[/name] are both on my top list right now, especially [name]Winona[/name]. From your list, I also really like [name]Clover[/name] and [name]Brynn[/name]. I’d use [name]Clover[/name] myself, but I already have a [name]Crimson[/name] [name]Just[/name] to through a name into the mix, Synnove/Sunniva is a name meaning “gift of the sun”. It’s another love of mine that the husband has vetoed, but seems so appropriate for you!
[name]Don[/name]'t forget to tell us what name you choose!
[name]Jonquil[/name] is daffodil in French if you’re into the daffodil connection. I also think that Bloom could be an interesting nature-inspired mn. From your list, I think [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Wren[/name] is just gorgeous. [name]Winona[/name] is pretty too. Good luck and congratulations on your springtime girl!
[name]Penelope[/name] [name]Sage[/name]! [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Sage[/name]! [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Sage[/name]! (Can you tell I really love this name?) i also really like [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Fern[/name].
Congratulations! [name]Camellia[/name] [name]Mae[/name] is lovely [name]IMO[/name]. I like [name]Viola[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] as well, but [name]Camellia[/name] [name]Mae[/name] just feels so sunny and warm! I’m not a fan of [name]Winona[/name], sorry. Sunniva is a favourite of mine, so I second that suggestion. Sunniva [name]Mae[/name] or Sunniva [name]Wren[/name] would be lovely as well, with sweet nn [name]Sunny[/name]! Good luck
Congratulations on your beautiful baby girl! [name]Camellia[/name] is beautiful! I love love love the pp suggestion of [name]Camellia[/name] [name]Soleil[/name]. I also think [name]Camellia[/name] [name]Lark[/name] or [name]Camellia[/name] [name]Wren[/name] would be adorable! [name]Winona[/name] is nice too… it doesn’t seem as bright and happy to me though (probably because of the long O sound.) The nn [name]Winnie[/name] is so bright and happy that might make up for her full name though. I would love [name]Winona[/name] [name]Tulip[/name], [name]Winona[/name] [name]Sage[/name], [name]Winona[/name] [name]Blythe[/name], [name]Winona[/name] [name]Briar[/name].
[name]One[/name] of my favorite nature names is [name]Orchid[/name]. I love the idea of [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Orchid[/name]
First idea when i heard about the daffodils in your house was the name [name]Daphne[/name] - but looks like you beat me too it - it was already on your list! I think she would be the perfect name for you!
[name]Love[/name] the idea of [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Wren[/name] from your list.
You may also like
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Bliss[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Bluebell[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name] Bloom
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Flora[/name]
As for other first name suggestions what about
[name]Blythe[/name] - this meaning is beautiful
[name]Wren[/name] with the nn [name]Birdie[/name] (our daughter name -i need to suggest it for you!)
[name]Bellamy[/name]
[name]Cleo[/name]
[name]Lilias[/name]
[name]Magnolia[/name] nn [name]Maggie[/name] or [name]Nolia[/name] or [name]Nola[/name]
[name]Oceane[/name]
[name]Posy[/name]/Poesie/[name]Posey[/name]/[name]Poesy[/name]
For a little girl born on a sunny day I think that [name]Susannah[/name] [name]Fleur[/name] would make a great fit!
I like [name]Winona[/name], I like [name]Winona[/name] [name]Bree[/name], it is a wind in the hair kind of name, fresh air, freedom, laughter.
[name]Camellia[/name] is lovely and a little more prim and proper than [name]Winona[/name] but her nn of [name]Cam[/name] moves her to the trendy [name]Camryn[/name] area.
I love [name]Camellia[/name]! That’s a beautiful name. I do agree that [name]Camellia[/name] [name]Wren[/name] is very lovely, but there are so many name combinations in your list that would be absolutely stunning. What a great list!
If I may, I might suggest [name]Amaryllis[/name], or [name]Magnolia[/name] as well to your list? Around now, down here, we’re starting to get [name]Magnolia[/name] blossoms in the trees, and they smell so sunny and lemony!
My first thought was- [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Sunshine[/name] ([name]Daphne[/name] makes me think [name]Daffodil[/name])
[name]Willa[/name], [name]Calla[/name], [name]Nova[/name], [name]Nina[/name], [name]Nora[/name], [name]Camille[/name], [name]Simone[/name] / [name]Suzanna[/name] (things that can easily nickname [name]Sunny[/name]), Larkspur, Oleander, [name]Orchid[/name] (nn Kid)
[name]Clover[/name]- I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name] this sweet name!
[name]Daphne[/name]- So sweet and it I thought of this immediately when reading your post.
[name]Viola[/name]- gorgeous
From your list I like [name]Brynn[/name] the best. Another idea to consider is [name]Kaia[/name], For which [name]Ive[/name] read many different definitions: earth, sea, and pure. Good luck and congratulations!
Oh, what pretty names! I second [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Clover[/name], a pretty name with just the right amount of cleverness to it.
Might I also add, that she was born on the day The Hunger Games movie came out, many of the characters have nature names.
A few I would add is [name]Primrose[/name], [name]Clove[/name] (a nice alternative to [name]Clover[/name]), and maybe [name]Rue[/name] for a middle name?
