Our surprise caboose is a BOY!

We were floored when we discovered baby number 5 is a boy! We’ve named 4 big sisters, and had a girl name picked out. Surprise!
Sisters are:
[name_f]Izzie[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] [name_u]Blake[/name_u]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]

Our short list for little dude:
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Hadden[/name_m]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Abram[/name_m]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Beckett[/name_m]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Ace[/name_m]

[name_m]Leo[/name_m] is a family name on both sides we want to use, but I’m not sure how I feel about calling him [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. With some of the name pairs, I would call him [name_m]Leo[/name_m] ([name_m]Hadden[/name_m], [name_m]Beckett[/name_m]). With the others, I would prefer the middle ([name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_m]Abe[/name_m], [name_m]Ace[/name_m]). Hubby loves [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u], but he is leaving it up to me to make the final decision.

Thoughts?

Congratulations!!! What an exciting time. I love that the first name was so easy to pick out - [name_m]Leo[/name_m] sounds great alongside all his older sisters names

It seems like you’re looking more for feedback or advice to help eliminate names on the short list instead of more name suggestions or which we prefer, so hopefully the following is helpful!

I personally think [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] sounds lovely, as well. What is your last initial? [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Ace[/name_m] or [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Abram[/name_m] may make for something like LAF or LAG, while not embarrassing, could lead to nicknames. [name_m]Just[/name_m] something to think about!

Also, if you have a short last name “[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Ace[/name_m] [name_m]Smith[/name_m]” sounds a bit choppy. [name_m]Abram[/name_m], in my opinion, would sound better for flow while still making the nickname [name_m]Abe[/name_m] possible. I’ve also heard of people calling their son [name_m]Ace[/name_m] as a pet name, without any correlation to their actual name, much like [name_f]Honey[/name_f] or Munchkin or Squirt… that sort of thing.

So based on what you’ve said this is my personal order of preference:
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Abram[/name_m]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Beckett[/name_m]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Hadden[/name_m]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Ace[/name_m]

If you went with [name_m]Beckett[/name_m], I think [name_u]Beck[/name_u] is a very sweet nickname, as well.

I vote for [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]!

I like [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] but my personal favorite is [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Hadden[/name_m] (not that I love [name_m]Hadden[/name_m], but it’s the not that flows the best. If he is going by both names, that would be my choice.)

  1. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Hadden[/name_m]
  2. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Abram[/name_m]
  3. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]
  4. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Ace[/name_m]
  5. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Beckett[/name_m]

[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]Maurice[/name_u]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]Jules[/name_u]
