Last week we welcomed our fourth child and third little man:
Truett [name_m]Steven[/name_m]
“[name_u]True[/name_u]” joins big sister [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] “[name_u]Rory[/name_u]” and brothers [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] “Bash” and [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] “[name_m]Rad[/name_m]”.
Naming [name_u]True[/name_u] was not an easy task. We wanted a name that was recognizable but still somewhat startling, something you don’t hear everyday but doesn’t strike you as very odd. We like formal, kind of stuffy names with a nickname that offers something completely different. All of our kiddos have honor names in the middle.
The name Truett itself definitely took us by surprise. It’s more surnamey than we expected and has a trendier sound than we normally prefer. In the midst of the name hunt it leaped off the computer screen at me, causing me to wake up my sick-in-bed husband to see what he thought, and make some phone calls to run it by a few trusted family members. No other name had impacted me that way! We loved the nickname potential of “[name_u]True[/name_u]” and loved that one friend remarked Truett sounds like a sheriff in the wild west and another said he could be a southern gentleman; we like names with possibilities!
At five days old, Truett suits him perfectly. He’s sweet and adorable and will surely be a bright ambassador for his name!
Thank you so much for sharing your GORGEOUS Naming [name_u]Story[/name_u]! I think you definitely achieved all of your Naming Goals! God Bless you all!
